Plague star should function like operation buried debts and goul purge

Recommended Posts

While I do love plague star the randomness of when it comes back is a bane to all of us who desperately need forma so wouldn't it be better to have it on a rotation like buried debts like it lasts a month then it goes away for a month before returning or every 2 months I mean it would fit perfectly in time with every new prime frame for easy farming but yeah only getting it once or twice a year isn't beneficial for us since it's only good for free forma anymore

Neither of your examples have a rewards shop with powerful items that also save and/or sell for large amounts of Platinum.

Plague Star is akin to Nights of Naberus, which is how it normally functions. It's only had long periods of downtime over the years because Plague Star is 7 year old code that needs updating to work in Plains of Eidolon.

True but still it's so infrequent that waiting 4-6 months for an I think 2 week event just isn't ideal at least increase it to a month

It's an Operation, not an Invasion. Operations are rare (and these days even rarer) with worthy rewards attached to special game modes.

For DE to add Plague Star that frequently, you'd be looking at an awful reward structure, as it would otherwise hollow out the entire point of buying/crafting Forma for many players, the value of Exodia Contagion, and several of the other rare rewards there.

If you find yourself needing Forma, I've found that the best cure is to just get in the habit of building a Forma every day.  That's 365 Forma a year with that one technique alone, which means that when you get those new weapons and frames you're excited about you'll have a stockpile, provided it didn't get wasted on weapons you don't care about.

Beyond that, if you want Forma, just sell literally anything you've accumulated or farmed for Platinum and use that to buy some bundles.  There are so many farms that will net you more Forma than Plague Star, just indirectly.  So pick one that you actually enjoy and get paid.

Sure.

But I have to ask. Would you be okay with this if say....DE said:

We're now making Plague Star a Bi-Monthly Event akin to Ghoul Purge. Due to the frequency we're adjusting the rewards. Please see the below notes:

- Forma has been replaced with Forma Blueprints. (Maximum Purchase Limit of 6 per account)

- Exodia Arcanes now have a Purchase Limit of 10

In the time between Plague Star events, I've farmed relics and crafted far more forma than I ever would have earned from grinding Plague Star, and fissures also come with some mission variety... Plague Star is nice when it comes around, but if you really needed forma that badly, you'd have earned it in other ways by now

I would rather it functioned more like the Razorback Armada and Balor Fomorian events which require players to participate in Invasion missions in order to progress their arrivals.

This way players could keep track of how long until the next event occuring and it wouldnt be a once a year thing.

If Plague Star did come back as often as Ghoul Purge, I wonder how long it would take before most players would ignore it, lol.

I already do, havent participated in the last 2 or 3 PlagueStars. I dont grind for stuff to sell and practically dont have what to use forma in.

Also, i dont think its just me but i think DE should update the enemy types that spawn during PlagueStar, being Deimos the closes large source of infestation, they should really have the Deimos infested strands and enemies attempting to contaminate earth.

Same on participation, although I did the last one once solo just to check out the revisions.

And I actually consume forma pretty regularly, and often don't have much of a stockpile.  I've just never been interested enough in the event to have ever been willing to grind them there.  Even when it was new to me, I just did enough to get the other items I wanted.

nice try, forma junkie lol.

even if it happened, Forma would be taken out, otherwise nobody would buy the bundles that DE makes money on. to be honest I don't think I'd even bother since the fight is literally just reskinned lephantis with additional steps, one of which is the most hated of all the Plains Bounty steps: the dreaded drone escort.. yuck.

if DE actually made hemocytes a unique boss type and added some more variation within the bounty I'd be all for it, but until then, no thanks.
