Shotgun Buffs (U17 Megathread Topic)

This thread will be used to discuss the Shotgun changes! The following list of changes apply to all Primary Shotguns with the exception to the Phage: 

  • Increased damage across all shotguns.
  • Damage after projectile falloff has been increased for all shotguns.
  • Some shotguns have been given improvements to reload speed.
  • Some shotguns have received improvements to their projectile speed.
  • Death at close to mid range will now toss enemies into a forceful ragdoll.

Kohm isn't listed in the patch notes as an exception?

 

Several changes have been made to shotgun weapons across the board -- resulting in a list of changes similar from weapon to weapon.  The following list of changes apply to all Primary Shotguns with exception to the Phage:

Why is the Strun Wraith's reload now 4.1 seconds?

WHAAAAT?!?

This has better be a bug. The only good that can come out of this is if DE stealth-changed it to reload one shell at a time instead of the whole clip at once.

Boar P. went from 2.3 to 2.8 reload speed. Has +5 mag capacity, and an additional 67 total damage. It's status chance was lowered from 40% base to 30%.

 

Edit: Drakgoon was buffed with a whopping +740 total damage. (or at least what my ingame screen shows vs the uncharged damage shown on non-updated wiki)

 

Edit(2): Kohm's only change was a fire rate of 3.67 vs the 3.7 shown on wiki.

 

Edit(3): Hek now does 525 total base dmg instead of 175.

Edit 2: Thanks for fixing the Strun wraith, it was a buggy mess but now it's freaking cool! <3 Could really use some crit though since there's literally no shotgun that's suited for a crit build, meaning the mods are useless.

 

There's still a bug where if you reload after firing 1 shot you are forced to reload after every shot for a pretty long time, it's pretty strange.

 

Another issue is that EVERYTHING interrupts the reload, you can't even reload in the air like every other weapon which is really bothersome. Fixed in U17.03.

My 3-forma Sobek does 9.5k damage per shot

 

My 2-forma Drakgoon does 19k damage per shot

 

My 1-forma Hek does 19.5k damage per shot

 

This is only with a rank 8 Primed Point Blank. I imagine people with 6+ forma weapons and a maxed PPB are achieving insane numbers.

Why in RNG his name did Tigris get buffed to a base damage of 1k and seen players that now do around 12k damage with a 4 forma build and Boar P didnt get S#&$.. Like litteraly barely anything changed to boar if anything changed at all... Where is the so called buff?

Yeah looks like some shotguns got monster buffs (Tigris, Sobek, Drakgoon) and others didn't. Hopefully they'll make some more tweaks. I'm loving what I'm seeing so far though.

Did the Kohm receive any changes at all? The patch notes when they were released only mentioned that Phage would be omitted from changes.

It only has TWO shots bud! Haha.

The DPS is waaaay lower when compared to a shottie with 4+ shots in its magazine.

Besides true bad asses always use a double barrel. Hence, 'bad &#! damage'!

Kohm has the same stats shown on the wiki page. Assuming the wiki was not update lightning fast, it looks like the Kohm got no changes.

my tirgis is not finnished yet, but with primed point blank rank 8, Hell chamber and the 11 moded fire and lighting elemental mods, i had radiation damage at around 15,000+. not counting the extra from slash, puncture and impact

Keyword to what they said, "some" were buffed in some way or the other. The rest could be bugged.

Strun wraith has now worst stats than regular strun ? How so ?

Why such a long reload time ??? That was the one stat which actually was great on it (reload speed).

Tested what Tenno said. Strun got wrecked. Why does it have 8 shells in magazine if after each shot it is reloaded :/

From what I can tell the Boar Prime did get a damage buff, though not as massive as what some other shotguns received. If I'm reading the wiki page correctly its magazine size also increased from 15 to 20. IIRC Boar Prime had some of the most serious fall-off damage of the lot, and with its focus on rapid fire (plus the mag buff) it could feel and perform a lot better than it did prior. Will need to test.

Why the F*** did Strun wraith get such a big nerf, while all other shotguns got a buff to up to 600+ damage!?

 

Strun wraith went from having a nice unique 1.5 second reload speed to a WHOPPING 4.1 second reload, WTF DE? What went wrong here???

 

Edit: It now seems to have a poorly made pump action? it says 4.1 second reload and 8 magazine size, but in reality the reload time is 1 second, and it forces you to reload after every shot, with a very annoying delay of like 0.3 seconds after you have finished reloading, I'm puzzled.

So they changed how Strun Wraith operates from before? Sounds like maybe the wrong stats got copypasted....

DE pls, why does the sobek still have a 4 second reload? I have to put tactical pump and seeking fury on just to make the weapon even usable.
