Educated_Beast Posted August 5, 2018 Share Posted August 5, 2018 The dam kill dargon pilot before hit the ground challenge is definitely my least favorite. Not only am I stuck going to plains (kuva fortress don't have pilots), I just cannot get consistency. My strategy: Take a trivial low level bounty Check if first objective is a drone mission, if not then exit and restart the bounty Escort the drone going slow enough to allow dargons to spawn Use some cheesy method to get credit for killing it in mid air (tried damage / range frost - doesn't work, tried mesa - sometimes does / usually don't, tried slow nova - same sometimes no credit). Repeat repeat repeat Is it just so bugged that it don't work or is there a trick I am missing? I've got 3 of these rivens, I just skip them and now they are pilling up. The amount of time it takes to complete is not proportional to anything else. I really wish DE would just remove all the dam PoE challenges. p.s. accidently left my sentinel on and that jackass kept killing any dargon that spawned. I had to cancel, remove sentinal, and then just reset 12 missions in a row and no dam escort drone mission. Can complete what you cant find. Why cant this riven be completed in the sanctuary? Better yet, just remove it and replace with something fun. All challenges need to have extremely common enemies or the dam mod should be kill one (1), not seven! This is just cruel. Slow nova, mesa, etc. none of those are consistent. Mesa especially, I ship explodes and then pilot dies, don't count 90% of time. Couldn't get frost to work at all, even though pilot dies, never counted. Same with nova, works sometimes, but mostly don't. All the youtube I saw was same issues. Fire rate and accuracy are so high that most of the time you just need to hold a trigger while aimed at Dargyn. I always thought it's one of the most trivial challenges. Educated_Beast Posted August 5, 2018 Author Share Posted August 5, 2018 (edited) Mag + supra worked, just finished 3 mods (Lenz, Penta, and Tonkor). One was sliding. Mags bullet attractor stops them, then its easy to hit ship then pilot with any fully auto gun. I think abilities kill pilot first (or same time) but you must kill the ship first. Anyhow, mag made this not so bad. Getting to spawn is the pain. Fastest way seems to be starting easy bounty and resetting until escort mission shows. Ignis Wraith and Tigris are very unlikely (and completely unlikely with ignis) to be able to get that far before it's beyonf the weapon's reach.
