It's Lonely in Space, Let us Have a Party in this Place!

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow Tenno. I had an idea and I think it might be a fun inclusion to the game, and would be amazing once RailJack drops. I think DE could probably turn it into a cash cow too if they wanted... So here I go...

TL;DR- NPCS! "What!?" You say? "but Cetus, Fortuna and Relays". I SAY NAY! MOAR NPCS. COLLECTABLE NPCS. NPCS IN MY ORBITOR. IN MY DOJO. IN MY RAILJACK!

Ok. Enough with that. Gotta get that "too long, didnt read "before the text. Otherwise you gotta scroll aaaaaalllllllll the way down. That's Tenno generosity and marketing 101.

I've been playing this game since the first day I got my ps4 back on the Christmas of ps4's release year. Ah the lollercopters transversal back in the day. Anyways. I'm usually kinda a solo Tenno. A lone wolf. A shadowy senpai of solitude. The ninja in back of Naruto's class so to speak...

And you know. For a solo tenno, space sometimes gets lonely. Helmith is kinda frightening and never comes out his room. The man in the walls scares me when he pops outta no where to say "hey there, Kiddo" and Lotus...well, let's not mention Lotus. So here's the idea. Let us get NPCs that we could invite to our Orbiters, Dojos, our Railjacks once Empyrean comes out.

Why? How? But why?

One word.

CLEM.

Yes you heard it here. Who tf wouldn't want to have Clem chillin in their dojo, right by the trade tower, so that anyone who comes go visit can get a nice helping of Grakatatatataatatatata.

 Ok more words maybe

. Why? Style. Fun. Atmosphere. More to collect. Perhaps special NPCs that can do special things...

I.E.:Ever heard of Hok the Zawmaster's lost apprentice? YEA, Ruk!? I saved him from a Grineer firing squad last week. His gratitude turned into a honor debt. Now he chills in my Orbitor and offers Zaw parts without me having to go to Cetus until I want to craft the Zaw at Hok.

How? Well I mean. How many Operatives do we save from a Rescue missions? Where do all those Grineer Defectors go after I save their booty from the maniacally laughing maniacs? Someone has to take them in. And 6 years later, they probably getting a little overcrowded.

But why? BECAUSE WHO ELSE AM I GONNA FASHION FRAME FOR!?

This folks. This idea is true endgame. I'm talking special event operations to save NPCs with useful abilities. I'm talking people going crazy throwing 250 plat *minimum* to buy their Dojo a Clem to greet visitors with a good ol' fashioned "Clem?". I'm talking Railjack introduction with a huge new spaceship that takes a team to man but you're only a solo Tenno. Well their Oneno, get yourself some NPCs to man those stations for ya!

So.

TL;DR: En...Pee...F&*#ING SEAS. DE I have no friends. Give me friends to fill my Orbiter, Dojo, and Railjack ship with. Please and thank you.

P.s. Did I mention NPCS?

Can you imagine Ordis reaction?

“Oh. Operator reached the dreaded hormone addled teenager stage and wants to SoCIALiZe? NO.

As for Umbra... we are talking about a Dad-frame. Who raised at least one kid (so he knows what to expect), is a badass and can get your Operator out of Void by screaming. And says “hello” by kicking a new friend into wall and almost chocking them.

On a serious note... meh. Tenno being loners aside, who would want to hang out with them?

The game you are looking for is Sims in Space...

Tenno are supposed to be lone wolf assassins.

We are?  I thought we were foster kids playing “make-believe” with “space magic” and now the family is in crisis because our stepmom went off her meds as soon as the first guy comes along and even he can’t deal with her...

"Collectable NPCs"

I'm just gonna go kidnap some NPCs and stash them on my orbiter, then set them up in the dojo barracks.

"Tenno, welcome to th-" puts bag over head, tosses over shoulder and parkours back to the ship

"Operator!  What are you doing?!"

Shut up, Ordis

Wow - you have quite the darker side, don't you? :surprised:

I disagree...consider the following: Legs from Solaris, Nora from nightwave and Vay Hek, In your orbiter. 24/7. 365

...

Do you think that a disarmed Flying Hek in a soundproofed reinforced fish tank will be too cruel?

-I knew this day would come. I prepared, changed myself. I made sacrifices! Tenno... are you ready for a SACRIFICE?! Hehehahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... (mask closes) HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHAHAHAHAHA! RAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAH!!

-"I was hangin' in my rack the other cycle, 'bout to power down, an' I hear Boon and Roky and the venters bangin' skeg on the pipes and ducts. They had a good bounce goin' so's I start singin', as I do. Got a little loud, and the skeg stops. I get all quiet like. Really stepped in it, thinks me. Then the grill pops and Boon's got his head in my hab sayin' "Keep it going'!" Didn't sleep much that night. Neighbors neither."

-"In a world like this, it can be hard to have hope, when the man owns the system and the system serves to save the man, from us. But I'm here, Dreamers. To help you pierce that false fog. We'll chase it away with acts of beauty and - succeed or fail - face the foe, eyes open. As someone once said: If nothing saves us from death, may love at least save us from life."

I wouldn't be opposed to having some of the NPCs chillin on my ship/dojo because of the impending battle. I know this isn't Mass Effect or anything, but with the New War right around the corner, I don't think it would hurt to rally people to our side. Even if they don't fight with us on the battlefield, just being on our ship to offer logistical aid makes sense to me.

Teshin provides combat planning and strategical advice. Little Duck does information gathering. Darvo and Clem are along as weapon specialists (and to make a profit of course). Maybe even Maroo could be persuaded to tag along for reconnaissance.

There is already a guest room, tidy and cozy, to have some visitors on the Orbiter stay for the night i.e. the Helminth room.

Other than that, we can have guests stay at the same place where Excalibur Umbra hangs. I mean literally hangs, like a costume on a coat-hanger along with the other frames in the arsenal.

And then of course there is the stasis field for the pets. That can accommodate a guest or two for a night.
