  1. I suggested that a while back, the New War quest could have given us a new starchart, toggled like you can with steel path, Ballas with Narmer and old-style grineer (the ones that can "lose an arm" and still come at you - no more speed running 'cos the 'dead' baddies get back up behind you) in the inner planets, Natah and sentients with AladV and his amalgams in the outer ones. You and what's left of you now-buddy corpus and grineer forces stuck like the sandwich filling around Mars/Phobos/Ceres. Rejig their combat features (eg sentients immune to blast or most elemental damage, give them Heal-over-time procs for slash to disrupt the meta), rejig the mechanisms (eg add railjack to combat or mini raids) and you revitalise the whole making old players feel like they did back when they started with a whole new starchart to unlock. There's a lot that could have been done with that opportunity, and I hope they reconsider Duviri as the way forward to retcon in the "operator timeline" instead to bring something like this in. The trouble is, you need the old repetitiveness. Most of the things that you'd do once (eg kill profit taker) must be repeated for gameplay reasons. So they stay and you can repeat them ad infinitum. All you can do is add more on top to take the story (and hopefully gameplay) somewhat further. Fundamentally, you have to have roughly the same stuff as before, because that's the special sauce that made the game in the first place. Duviri could easily be the New Coke moment, and I think would be if it wasn't for the incarnon rewards. We're so easily bought :) I want Excalibur Wraith Vandal!
  2. No, you misunderstand it. There is 1 timeline, not many. The idea that all time already exists and we just inhabit a block of it, like a video being played and our "present" existence is merely viewing each frame in turn. Everything is ordained and "pre-recorded". That's eternalism, and based on some maths IIRC that suggests this is the case, though I imagine its either wrong, a funky hypothesis, or some quantum-style wierdness where time is indeed already written, or doesn't exist as we think of it at all. Yeah, its that level of weirdness. Yes, that is exactly what it is. What you describe is "multiverse" or "parallel worlds" theory. They are different things based on the universe constantly creating new ones because nobody really liked the concept of time being pre-ordained. And that was one way to avoid facing the crazy theory that is eternalism. Just wait until you read the ones that say time doesn't really exist at all! The trailer for the new war showed a Nova being shot by a grineer then Natah and a horde of sentient soldiers showing up. Ho hum. The original Duviri paradox was supposed to be about time travel - well, time dilation actually - in that a twin goes on a spaceship at very fast speeds and then returns, the twin will be much younger than the one who stayed behind. This is factual science! The Duviri world was supposed to be the Tau system IIRC, but they obviously couldn't bodge that in and have warframes on Tau so they made this dreamscape version up instead. Its isn't atrue consequence of the deal, in that we'd have been experimented on by the Orokin anyway to see how we survived the void. Or just gioven a gun and told now you're enlisted with the rest of the corpus, only this time with a snowflake's chance of survival. Being a warframe operator is really a good result all in all. The deal didn't explicitly make things bad for us, the situation was already bad. That's why its not a devil's deal type trope.
  3. No, not all timelines, just 1 timeline but that all time exists. this is a strange thing to grasp as it means the future is as real as the past - ie already created and present, we just work our way though this pre-ordained timeline without noticing that its all already laid out. The clue is in the name, "eternal-ism". There is no "2 different beings" type arrangement in a Marvel-style "multiverse". there is no multiverse in real-world eternalism, just 1, and all of it exists at the same "time" because eternalism's concept of time is quite strange. Its like the entire timeline (singular) is laid out and we move through it experienceing it as we go, rather than creating new experiences on-the-fly in the moment called the present. It is confusing as some variations suggest different times are as valid as different places - but that does not mean they are differen places, just that a sort of time travel can happen in that you can't go back in time and change anything, everything will happen as it did because that's what happened. Similarly for the future. It is a strange concept. As you say "Drifter got kicked out", no, they shookl hands and existed in the same place at the same time. This put all theories of "cannot exist in the same place and time" to rest, its nonsense because they did exist at the same time and place. The concept of the bad things are nothing to do with the Wally handshake. Bad stuff happens, we were already stranded in space. The rest was no deal with the devil's consequences - they were already happening. The "deal" only got us out of there. its not a bad consequence, it was a happy ending! The Orokin then got us and used us, well that's not a bad consequence, the orokin already were evil and selfish. Nothing about the handshake was anything except a get-out-of-poor-writing trope. And not even a good one at that.
  4. Deal with the Devil trope is always about the bad consequences, never the power gained. This is simply poor writing from DE who has done much better in the past creating a more believable history with all its warts suddenly going for the "and then you were magic, which was nice". Operator didn't "make the space" as they were back when they met Drifter. its poor writing again. they wanted to introduce a new character for the future direction of warframe, and the handshake is nothing more than a symbolic hand-over. We had 10 years of operator and warframes, now we're getting the next 10 years (perhaps) of Drifter and drifter combat daydreaming with warframes mixed in somewhere just to pretend its still called warframe.
  5. Sounds like he is interested in it, or he woulnd't care to comment how f'ed up the lore now is. Op gets power from Wally handshake (a truly awful Mary-Sue-ism there, I'd much have preferred the kids to develop some adaptation to the void over time. That gives them more agency than just being Wally's magic pet). But the drifter (who can't be in the same eternalism universe, yet was, gets powers from the operator handshake which is not the operator's to give, or they could give it to everyone. Drifter is no more special than Kahl. Imagine Kahl getting Tenno void powers too! the more I look at it, the more I feel The New War was a massive mistake, not just a wasted opportunity to revitalise warframe for old players. So, if you're asking questions about Drifter and void powers, the answer is "just is, shut up and don't think about it"
  6. Happens constantly, after 3 days. I think its a cookie issue where the wrong date is being set (or the right one, where they want you logged out after 3 days).
  7. the pit room is random, if it spawns you'll know it. Its the one with the big pit in the middle and various golden spiky shiny things stuck to the ceiling above it. There are 6 or 7 different tilesets for the iso vaults so you're not guaranteed to get the pit one every time. You'll have to wait 4 hours for the bounty rotation for things to reset and get another chance to look.
  8. you assume Albert returned from the void in the first place.. Even he/his doppelganger who returned said that he wasn't sure if it is him or not. This could answer that, if Albert was stuck there and ended up in Duviri. However, its all moot as the entire "its void, ok, so anything goes, don't question our expert storytelling" is total rubbish. yeah well, hisotyr is always written by the victor, and also by those eager to make a name for themselves presenting something as more than it is. Lotus, remember, is a sentient and thus cannot discern the void at all. More likely she pressed the wrong button and sent the moon into the void via an old Orokin defensive doodah. The same one the entrati used to keep safe once the Orokin empire fell. Of course, after a thousand years, the moon returning would be an amazing event to those watching. But that doesn't mean it was a spectacular feat to perform. Personally, I feel this even could have been an amazing lore update if the devs had continued to tell the story of the Tenno. But they lost interest, so meh.
  9. This is true, the stradavar felt nice to use too, so an incarnon version might be worth something. FWIW I had a Stradavar as a circuit pick once, it took an entire magazine to kill a grineer and i pretty much ran out of ammo using it. Its definitely as underrated as the latron. One at least of the machine pistols needs some love, particularly in the ammo department too. The vipers are fn, but brrr *click*, out of ammo entirely. Same with the others to some extent, especially if you have a +fire rate riven to turn, say, a afuris into a hosepipe o' bullets :) I'd say the Akstiletto was the cutest of them all, do that one. Melee, the tipedo has a bit of lore about it, when you've run out of ammo its the last weapon a tenno needs. Give that some last-stand incarnon fun. A "+loadsa damage once your guns have run out of ammo" incarnon would be interesting, and certainly a different feature than the usual stat buffs. Also fits nicely with the ammo nerfs of a while back.
  10. Yup. or as a means to continue writing when creatively bankrupt. See also Time Travel, and perhaps the "it was a dream" option too. though that latter seems a way to undo the awfulness of previous creative decisions. Should be used here IMHO to remove all this Drifter BS. Then, maybe, we could have the new war after all. I think DE had a story that was well thought out, up to the Ropalolyst and that was supposed to be the "end" of it with the final revelations from Natah. But they needed more content and rather than expand on it further they went sideways for some reason. I don't think there is any more old warframe story from DE, all we've had since is bits and pieces of fanfic set in the warframe lore.
  11. na, that's just a "lets pretend that didn't happen and you try it again". There's no lore to that, just gameplay mechanic.
  12. When they release a non-warframe game mode that you play, complete it a few times, and then think... done it now. And move on to other games.
  13. That is interesting, my Pyrana Prime when I was lucky enopugh to get it, took out the shackles in a single hit. The biggest issue with pellet weapons I think is that they do not have much range, so the falloff matters significantly. A detron was 100% useless against the wyrm.
  14. or all the other stuff was a short-term temporary thing, or some form of limited VR-style effect. And then the tenno showed they had the capabilities to take it all a step further.
  15. Silvana quote: These past weeks, I've been secretly testing Transference on myself. I can only survive short bursts - linking to Titania the way only Tenno can stand. I've never felt anything like it. A tortured presence, like an evil ink, staining my mind. But... it worked. I'm going to use this wrong to make right."
  16. Not necessarily, though I get your point here. Many warframes were assigned as security - Parvos had one assigned to him even. What we do know about transference is that ordinary people cannot do it or cannot do it for very long at all (as per Titania quest), hence the tenno. Now maybe Hunhow gave him some help, but also maybe he is a tenno, just one not sent off to the front line as the good troops, he's one of the kids but a b-tier kept back for boring duties. Now that'd be enough to piss you off against your old friends, and would be just the kind of thing the Orokin would do. Though that also allows for him to be a talented "normie" who was then passed over when the wierd kids showed up, making him a proto-tenno. Much like Umbra is a precursor to warframes, Stalker is a precursor to the tenno. The lore is often well worded to allow for some interpretation, that's one reason its so good.
  17. it was re-run in September 2021. and 2020, and 2019, and twice in 2018. Not bad since it first appeared in 2017.
  18. Stalker would be a tenno, or a rogue warframe. thinking about it, I like the idea that he is a tenno who didn't get turned by Natah into killing the big blue bosses club, but instead liked the order of the establishment and considers us to be the bad guys (which, of course, we are) and insteas of being led astray by Natah, was instead picked up and led astray by Hunhow. We're all just pawns in a AI family battle. But who knows. And DE doesn't care any more anyway. I'd liked to have seen future quests during the new war where they flashback to the old war, making parallels to how the Tenno were turned from feral ex-schoolkids into nicely obedient child soldiers (obedient to whom, though?) and how Natah got us to overthrow the Empire (is she the good gal here, or was that the plan she was sent to do all along?) followed by how she and us ended up tucked away in the moon and later woken up by Vor playing with his Ascaris before deciding to get us to commit acts of genocidal atrocity against everything human-ish all over again, or was she really restoring order to a post-orokin world? TNW gave us Duviriframe when it could have given us so, so much more.
  19. because these days, well, there are alot of people who get off on being bullies reporting anything they simply want to find objectionable for not good reason. Or those who want to be virtuous but get carried away with ignorance (hey, I once read of a mob that wanted to do bad things to a paediatrician, confused by the big word they'd conflated with paedophile). But also, if you report something like this, do so. Then walk away and let the support team do their job. Why be so concerned that support isn't capable of making a decision? Report, your job is done. As should your involvement with this forum thread. Though if you'd shared the clan name, we could all make our own decision on it. As you didn't, you were always going to get second-guessed by people who (obviously) don't have enough information to form an opinion on it, and thus will question yours.
  20. still getting those support tickets. I guess adding the Simaris blueprints wasn't enough to stop this costly activity. So they went one further to prevent it entirely.
  21. If there was ever a reason to put the Stug in an event, its this. Cold-based stug was always a snowball launcher. Now it can do water balloons.
  22. NO, at some point DE got fed up of support tickets being opened by people who sold something and later decided they wanted it back (after watching some YT vid saying how OP it was), but couldn't get it. Don't thewse weapons come with a free slot anyway, so there's no reason to get rid of them.
  23. The problem with that is that it breaks the new player progression. Understand that the original starchart is well balanced and well desgned for new players. Refreshing it for you will break it for them. So what we really need is to spiral the starchart to a new level, recreate the original progression and balance for veteran players. I keep suggesting it, but the new war was the opportunity to do this - add a red startchart of war, Ballas and his new (old) grineer and narmer units in the inner system, Natah and sentients and amalgams in the outer planets with the remnants of Corpus, grineer and Entrati around Mars/Phobos/Ceres. Then you get to blast away and play the refreshed, but still recognisable content with new enemies that have totally different aspects to combat and balance so your OP bramma is no longer OP. Welcome to new Warframe, old players.
  24. Also the invisibility thing, and the dying part - get shot full of grineer bullets all you do is transference static away. In reality, this is the operator equivalent of ragequitting. I think operator carrying things like canisters and opening doors is a unintentional bug that would have been better if it were disabled, then we'd really be more solid-looking ghost-forms. But its still OK as it is, operator just has a special void power of "picking things up" :)
  25. This is my headcanon, whilst we can control a warframe directly, doign it in the chair probably offers much more support. Maybe some whale music to keep us focussed for long missions stuck inside Rhino, or just somewhere to keep you comfortable and not distracted by Ordis singing as he cleans up after your kubrow. However, when we appear, I really think its better as a void projection rather than teleportation. If the latter, then we'd be an infected mess of infested spores long ago (you never used operator on an infested mission? or appeared in the outer-space parts of broken and infested corpus ships?) Operator cannot be physically present, so it must be a projection of some sort.
