So, what do you guys think about what they showed off today on the devstream?

Overall I'm pleased with what I saw. I hate to say it, but I'm more hyped for the dynamic daytime aspects than the night time Eidolon hunt. I'm hoping the missions aren't just the basic mercenary stuff we've always done, but maybe some actual heroics.

For instance, the Grineer are said to use normal humans as slaves, so a human settlement could be a tempting target. It would be nice to actually have to rescue some humans and escort them to a safe evac point. Maybe have an option to divide forces and have some players engage the Grineer while others sneak in, free captives, and lead them out, with the distinct possibility that it can all go horribly wrong. Something more involved than fetch quests, murder missions, and point capture that we can actually believe has an effect on the lives of all the fictional people we meet.

"You saved my family, and I've been telling the entire town what a hero you are." sounds better than, "Hey, I let everyone know you're really good at catching fish."

I don't hate to say that. I'm not a Monster Hunter fan. I don't care at all about fighting some big boss. That's not why I like open world games. I like open world games for the dynamic side missions you can run into in an open world. I like open world games for the interaction between NPCs that makes the world feel alive. That's something we're not getting with PoE because DE won't put the Ostrons in the Plains. So we probably won't get any side mission where we'll have to rescue some Ostrons and escort them to an evac point.

Cetus to be specifically, seem to be spread out, so more walking. Good.

Missions Boards (Daily Cetus Task) seem fine, and brief description.

"DE's current work for Plains has Strong Start". LET AIM FOR QUALITY (enough story, Rich Environment, and Engaging (immersive) Story).

Same, NPCs so far in Cetus(preview) have room potential if not already to "Express" more emotions. Of course WarFrames is not just about playing with NPCs, maybe DE can take the Video Tran mission Feeds, and have 99% "Friendly NPC"  say some thing *simple* (Life Status Update, DE can even get from PLAYER CONTRIBUTED Random Messages (appropriate, immersive)).

Note: *simple* Simple as in short and random phrases in most Games(RPG) or just exist to tell the Tales (short, but say a lot? Witcher).

Example:

Leader of the Cetus/Ostron Clan has Big (Photo Enlarged, ages ago) of their "Ancestor, or Great-grandparents displayed in their Hut/Room. After Welcome the Tenno to come in, the Clan Elder/Leader spoke to the Tennos about Cetus/Onstron's History, Tragic, Drama (yes, mild), Daily Life, Sufferings, Will to Survives. (WITH WHOLE LOT OF (Video Feed?) Animation (simple, matching animation?) Body-Language").

What will WarFrames/Operator be doing?  Sleeping/Sitting attentively,Dancing, Gone, Eating (popcorn), Cleaning Weapons? (Emotes).

TL;DR: DE letting WarFrames/Operator having that feel like the Environment is not empty, and is "ALIVE" (RUN! Land is alive! (jk)), is quite important. While not ruining the Actions that the Tennos choose to tackles while in Plains.

Quick Thoughts on Ostrons and Plains. NOT Top Priority (Of many Missions) as this would just be Missions, that doesn't really "impact" WarFrames in long run, just everyday Rescue/Defection or Defense as mentioned now:

1) Ostrons being in Plains? Unless the Enemies has kidnap your "one important Ostrons" person, then it has to do with Side-Quest. Range from Single VIP Ostron Person Rescue to "Group of Ostrons" Defection who try to Map the Plains?

Unknown Landscape (Cetus live there for a long time, so later Generations might forget/not Gone out of Fortress).

2) I still remember Tennos want to "Escort Caravans", not bad idea, and did mention similar to Defending Moving Operative (Defend Sortie).

So far, just discussed Two Missions type that might be, but not really game changing without DE's Story Telling Quest Narrations.

EDIT 09/29/17:

Just saw DE's September 28/29 2017 PrimeTime.

Cetus is on Earth, confirmed, again. Meaning, my Speculations are off.

Those ideas are amazing, so much so that I wish DE would delay this update in order to implement at least half of them, and if they'd implement all of them in a good way, DE could even challenge Witcher 3 for the best open world experience.

Also, what do you think about this for a new mining mechanic? :

Hopefully soon this month or next month.

Watched latest dev stream it seemed ready, although still wondering if they fix the rumored the game crashes when player died. Also hopefully DE server is upgraded or big enough for those extra database for operator customization and the whole creating weapon and name.

It is most certainly better than drawing a pattern on a rock with our scanners. I really wish we could call down a very large extractor and have to defend it against all the different types of enemies we saw in that Liberation mission. I know a lot of people hate the idea of bringing in existing missions to PoE, but I think open world is a common sense place to integrate various Warframe game modes. And if it's an option that we have, then it won't be forced on players. It's just an option. It could even be a rework to the Extractor feature, where we can go to a planet's open world zone to extract resources.

So many players here have never played an open world game before, so they just don't understand the value of having a variety of gameplay options within an open world.

Nice post and I am agreeing with all of them.

My suggestion beyond your suggestions for landscapes could be the next.

Venus - a terraformed and cooled down planet which have evergreen flora with some polar / artic type fauna. The planet rotation fixed and got an artifical moon to stabilize it's rotation "this could be the Helga"

Ceres - as a small mining colony with Grineer mining tiles and vast barren plains.

Mercury - a barren untouched planet which used by mining fields but still have it's own gravity and magnetic field to be able to make some colony there.

Europa -/- Enceladus - both moons could be look like a vast arctic barren planets with partially melted water and halo to keep the atmosphere inside. These places could be used as experiments and water supply colonies for the Corpus.

Io - Imagine a cool volcanic rocky barren moon with high temperatures and temperature hazards absolute devoid of life and it could be used both for Corpus or Grineer as a military zone and both parties testing their weaponry there.

Pluto - A partly terraformed mostly similar like the Ganymede colony just semi industrial and mostly subterranen colony.

Eris -/- Sedna - could be also a barren moons with military bases and shipyards for those factions too.

Also the Earth colony could be so huge if they can make different parts of it like the arid parts, rainforest, temperate, tundra, glacial-arctic parts. Like how we have sharkwin type of missions on Earth I can imagine multiple places on Earth and on some other planets.

Just some opinion hopefully they can also increase the size of these maps if the game mode successful enough.
