The Mastery Rank 19 Test is Bullhockey

Question

I've been trying to complete the MR 19 test for a full day now via practice, and I can see no viable way of completing this load of crap.

The test wants me to hit 6 glowing orbs to free a hostage, and then escort that hostage to safety. I must do this entirely undetected, can only use a melee weapon. cannot have a companion, and can not use any abilities. The screen is blurred and covered in light, reducing my visibility. The area is pocked with pillars that I supposedly can hide behind. but they simply reduce my visibility even further. The enemy is a holographic blue with an indistinct outline. camouflaging them even further. And they're alert, so they have an aggro range of about 30 meters.

I originally planned to cheese this with Limbo and my Huras kubrow, but no companions makes that impossible. I considered Loki or Ivara, but no Abilities allowed. I'd snipe everything. I don't have a Zenistar yet so I can't nuke everything, and I can't nuke with Telos Boltace because nerfs.

I simply have no idea how to go about doing this test and succeeding. Someone, please help me.

It's literally a case of, "git gud."

It's testing your ability to use cover to sneak around enemies undetected. If I'm remembering right you can also stealth attack them to get rid of them.

Use your waypoint marker to keep track of the ones you're actually worried about, one at a time, and keep practicing.

As has been pointed out, thrown melee weapons help a lot here, as the thrown attack benefits from stealth damage multipliers. I would also highly recommend installing some sort of enemy radar mod (or running Ivara, who has it baseline); the range is pretty big, and more importantly it lets you know the enemies' facing so you can better tell if they're at risk if being alerted.

I'd also recommend doing some practice runs in Simaris's room at a relay, so as not to use up your one shot per day just learning the ropes.

My biggest problem is that they're detecting me when they're about 5 pixels tall on my 1600x900 monitor.

Throwing melee/gunblade

Tried the Halikar to a bit of success. Gonna try making a Kestrel for increased sniping range.

Throwing weapons like Glaive? I just watched them and studied their patrol patterns so I knew where they were at any given time.

The visibility is so bad I can't see the patrol patterns.

I always practice with Simaris until I can do the mission reliably. I have a "see everything" Ivara build that I can use. No health or shields, but that doesn't matter in this mission.

Within these spoilers is my experience of this test. I have no intention to pass it at the moment because I literally see no point beyond an increase to trades, Traces, and MR.

Spoiler

From my experience of continuous failure due to enemies having eyes on the back of their heads, hyper-fast detection speeds, and instantaneous turn rates, I too cannot do this test.
The closest I got was 5 orbs, then I was detected from the floor above, even though I was under said floor. I used an Orvius and tried to annihilate my enemies, but I also deleted my Zenistar so that's out of the picture. Nor am I willing to build another gunblade because of how hard to use they are. Then again, I wonder if the Caustacyst would work in this situation?

Additionally, the intensity of the situation and the fact that enemies can see you in the manners discussed - including dead bodies, causes one - such as myself - to have their heart pounding, which makes them uneasy and causes them to fail out of overconfidence or sheer chance.

Not to mention a Rakta Dark Dagger won't do anything because if you get in melee range you're detected anyway.

What would help is an increase to the amount of tries, not have everything reset after each fail, reduce enemy visibility radius, remove the background blur, and the ability to leave and return to the test without being locked out (so long as we still have tries). The first three things, and the last thing, would help improve our chances of climbing the ladder.

I remember the first time coming on Warframe quite vaguely, but I recall being terrible at aiming, and failing the MR1 test so terribly that I ended up quitting. That was about 3 years ago - back when there was no Orbiter, when test rooms had white floors, when there was no Ordis, and so on. Before I tried twice again; once on Xbox One, then returning to PC with the 'crown' of -732 upon my name.

In short: I am stuck at this test, even with a fast-launch high-range Orvius - selected due to it's superior homing capabilities - and getting 5/6 orbs.

The reason: Enemies can see you through thin floors if you wall-latch, and the test resets ENTIRELY if you fail - which adds more to my unwillingness.
Additionally, the test is essentially a repeat of the 'kill everyone without being noticed', but + 'Rescue' + orbs. This should be changed in one of the following manners:

1: Instead of failing, a timer goes off allowing you a window of about 30 seconds to strike all 6 orbs down; the fewer orbs, the longer the timer. Failure only occurs if you fail to strike the orbs in time.

2: Make the enemies tougher, or at least able to put up a fight, and add panic buttons so the execution timer has a delay before starting. This will remove the instant failure due to detection feature.

3: Make the enemies proc cold damage (the same kind found on frozen floors which slow you right down), add a timer, remove detection dilemma.

4: Test doesn't reset itself upon failure. 6 tries per run total available. You will find a dead you which can't be detected by enemies where you failed at, with Shadow-Stalker's War through it's torso.

5: Test doesn't reset itself upon failure, enemies react much slower than usual and have a shorter detection range/angle, but you can only do it as Operator.

I recommend using glaive type weapons and channeled throw to destroy bodies.  Orvius was my choice due to better tracking.  Radar mods of any kind are extremely helpful.  Always crouch to lessen chances of detection.

Kill all enemies before even bothering with the orbs to release the hostage.  This is what I did.  It also helps to have good patience and not rushing.

Addendum: You can also use the throw attack on glaive weapons to destroy the orbs from a distance. Immensely helpful.

Completed it! However, my Kestrel could not destroy the orbs at range. I ended up using Ivara with two enemy detection mods. A well timed Entropy effect really helped out during the actual mission. I basically sniped everything I could at maximum possible range.

Wisp and melee of choice. Stay airborne until you need to hit something. Win.

This is how i finished at first real try. I practiced a bit first.  It is like cheating because skills are not allowed but who cares?

also kill some if its safe.
