SERIOUSLY. STOP WITH THE SPY MISSIONS IN EVERY SORTIE.

To make something really hard they have to change the AI behaviour and that is not happening in the near future at least.

I can imagine dreadful changes to the AI behaviour already....

Sortie mission: Spy, Modifier: High Alert.

Lotus: The enemy is on high alert. The moment you get detected they will trigger the deletion sequence. Retrieve the data before it finishes.

Anyway, I think it's all RNG with the mission sorties. Doesn't make sense for DE to force certain mission types to appear more often. For the last one or two weeks I've done 3 to 4 Lua rescues in sorties.

Oh I do, but within star chart parameters.  The problem with sorties is that they're not core game play, they're unbalanced game play where the whacked scaling rears its ugly head, and the experience goes from shooting down hordes of bad guys to feeling like a cheat just to win.  I can run kuva siphons all day.  I have to stop myself from running kuva siphons.  I have fun running through a map with an Argonak and just left click down foes, watching them split in two (unless it's corpus, the quality of corpus engagement has degraded since I started playing.)  Sorties are a totally different beast.  I just put up with the crap for my three missions hoping for a riven or legendary core then go back to jovially blasting grineer all across the star chart.

What? Whacked scaling is not an issue in Sorties whatsoever, it's more like the Star Chart offers no challenge at all and the enemies are an utter joke there, being way too low in levels even outside of the beginners area. Sortie level is where the enemy *starts* to get interesting and you're actually required to plan accordingly, which is fun. Our Mods are undoubtedly powerful enough to make Sortie level enemies a joke too, Armor scaling only starts to be quite insane way beyond what Sorties have to offer, but even then there are solutions to that with a bunch of options to remove armor completely. So it's really not like you cannot blast your way through sortie level stuff, it'll just require the proper gear for the mission.

I kinda see where OP is coming from, the amount of Spy and Rescue in Sorties is way too high to be enjoyable to me, as these two are the most annoying mission types in the game. I don't have a problem if they appear occasionally, but if there's a Spy for the second or third time in a row I'm just skipping Sorties altogether until I see something interesting again.

So you'd rather want 10 minutes of survival getting tortured by "perma 0 energy" eximii or something?

Yes please, these are a good way to max out Focus. Just take a frame that doesn't require a lot of Energy, or is able to regenerate it easily.

I bring a Nova with range, duration and strength.  Spam 4.  Myself and the rest of the public team mops up spongy enemies.  Without this SINGLE cheap tactic, we'd all be getting dropped within a second from volume of fire alone, let alone any actual accuracy from the enemy.  After that, it's making sure your weapons and mods aren't so garbage they can't do anything.

The exception is the infested - you can run infested blindfolded with an MK-1 Braton.

The challenge started and ended at the arsenal.  On all mission types.  All we're talking about now is time commitment, and missions like spy and rescue tend to be much faster than defense or survival.

The only people that think sorties are a challenge are people that find themselves struggling on medium in games like Halo and DOOM.

With cheats active.

LMAO Spy missions are an absolute godsend considering you can cheese the entire mission with a max duration Loki.

But hey, if you want more endless missions with level 80+ Eximus units spilling out of every nook and cranny I can't do anything about that.

U mad bro?

Having misisosn like spy, capture and sab in a sortie is freaking awesome.

Because they take only a couple of minutes to finish so you can get your endo trash sculpture and be done with it in opposte to some kuva fortress defense for example that is barely playable in pubs because **** keep standing in the pit dying all the time not realizing why they're dying.

It's not "cheese". It common sense. Each tool for it's job and it's own purpose.

Maybe try using your head next time.

And if you can't keep your sorry teamamtes and yourself alive you can always play chroma, rhino, inaros, wukong, valkyr and so on. If you manage to die even then then the level or misison isn't the problem.

Yeah lmao back when it was survival, defense after mobile defense and each was way longer *clearly* it was way better.

It was changed to have less endless missions and so tehy would take less time each so it won't be as tedious and boring crp that it was previously.

If I wanted quick and easy, I wouldn't play this game.

I have some bad news for you this game is easy and casual af. So yeah you're playing the wrong game. It is only as hard as you yourself will make it. It's your choice to play somewhere on Mercury,Sedna, Lua or go as far as to face lv 1000+ enemies.

That said nothing stops you from doing sortie quickly (or not doing it at all) and go squat somehwere in a survival for an hour+ so you can gib a lv 100-1000 enemies all you want, all day long.

Spy missions are great for sorties, fast and easy, the bad spy ones are from Lua. Most ppl don't know how to do them and end up always failing. That's where I go solo mode and do it by myself.

Btw long time since I've seen a Lua spy mission in sortie.

As someone who's been playing Loki Prime since before he was vaulted: It's fine to not like Spy. Even though they're fast and/or easy if you're competent with a stealth frame.

But please, for goodness sake, if you're in a Spy sortie and you hate/don't play/don't understand the tiles of Spy missions... just sit outside and wait for someone else to do it instead of rushing in, setting off the alarm, and failing the mission.

Seriously, I've gotten to the point that I just solo them because half the time there's a moron who runs in, trips the first trap, and then we're back in our orbiters. A leech is vastly preferable to a rusher who isn't the sort of rusher that does it because they can speedrun the tile before the alarm runs out.

That's like one out of a dozen+ options you have in order to keep your team alive, CC enemies or do damage to them. And this isn't even a cheap tactic, it's decently efficient but a Nova on itself is quite squishy so yes you'll likely end up dying without a proper team. That's not the Sorties being unfair, that's just your decision being suboptimal in that case tho.

In my opinion, yes it was way better back then, because I enjoy running those missions, so this is not a change I like or asked for, they might take longer but they're also more fun. Always refreshing to see high level enemies in Endless Missions without having to wait for an hour before they start spawning in the first place.

A lot of people didn't.

That's why it was changed. Hopefully it will never get back to it, ever.

Nothing stops you from hitting Hieracon for example and stay there until 2000-3000 cryotic if you like it. Literally nothing. Most play sortie for rewards so spending more than half an hour is a boring tedious chore for a chance to get another anasa.

And yet another post that turns out to be all about "OMFG OPERATORS ARE SH*T PLS REMOVE DEM OR I STOP PLAYING THE GAME!!!!11!1!".

They're not forcing anything. Don't like spy? Don't play the sortie then. Don't like Operators? Don't freaking use them then and stay away from Grinds of Eidolon. Simple as that.

And don't even try to prove me me wrong here, your argument is invalid.

If half an hour for Sorties is fine then endless missions shouldn't be an issue for you either, with most of the endless types being reduced to 10 Minutes even 3 Survivals in a row would be around 30 mins and not much more.

Spy might even take you more than 10 mins if you join a pub, then one of the Nodes fail, and you have to start all over again solo. I usually don't like to play solo so I've even had Spy Sorties fail several times in a row in pubs or host migration because some people disconnect as soon as the alarms are raised, leaving you stuck into loading screen because the host left, and once the game's finished loading there's no time left to hack and the mission fails immediately, so loading screen again. That's just annoying, could've done two survivals in the time I occasionally waste on one Spy Sortie.

They are an issue for me as they're boring, pointless and long. Because all I care about is the end reward. They aren't hard either no matter how many people say the same - I see wya more palyers whining about spy being hard and how they can't even complete it because they're unable to do so without the cyphers and ahve no clue how to enter some vaults without just facerolling the lazers.

And if sortie has 1 Kela assasination 1 two missions like mobile defense+any of the endless or 3 Lua spy I just skip.

And al ot of players do the same or similar. Defense, excavation and mobile defense are one of the worst probably, as I would consider playing survival at least.

Never had a need to join any non endless and even most edless misisons with pubs unless I know I can complete it with them doing basically nothing at all. Man up and learn how to spy so you wouldn't have to either. It takes 2-5 minutes at worst, the amount of my spy missions I failed is like 98-99% succesful to 1-2% failed probably. Spy is one of the few misisosn where you have to use your brain + one of the few where you can take different paths and still complete it.

And as there's an issue with "pub spy" for you there can be *potentially* an issue with endless misisons because people tend to bring crp and you have to spend good amount of time getting randoms that don't bring slow nova on defense making it last for hours for example or just something weak and out of place and keep dying so you have to revive them over and over again. Like in the Kuva defense. So you ahve to babysit the operative and your teammates. That's why survival isn't that bad because not only it can be done solo but even if they all will die you won't fail a misison. And the only reason to hit public is for the increase in the spawn rate so you won't have to bring nekros.

I realize there are guys here who would love for DE to start charging credit cards by the hour played, because it would be a great idea—as long as DE did it.

But then, they probably work for DE.

The past four or five Sorties have had a Spy mission for the second part. That's not RNG. In the past few years, I've not seen it happen. I'm worried something is either broken, or someone is trying to force us to play Spy missions with randoms.

Spy missions are fine when they happen randomly. When they happen on every single Sortie and in the same spot, it's no longer random.

So, either something is broken, or this is the birth of yet another bad idea.

Get a life.

The very nature of random means that it's working correctly if we happen to get several sorties in a row with spy missions, true random doesn't care what it was recently, it only evens out in the super long run. Your sample size is as short as your temper.

I'm also not entirely sure attacking everyone who disagrees with you is the best strategy to go for, you probably made this thread on the whims of your emotional instability. I've noticed a disturbing trend of some posters going over the deep end in their posts because apparently DE has been making nothing less than 100% bad ideas for the past 4 years and only build 0.0.0 was acutally good or some nonsense. I have my criticisms and I've even made my own angry posts, but this is beyond that. Please do leave, the only regrets to be had here are that some of us didn't invest in this game back when founding was still possible while you and your like stamp your feet and pout because sorties have had a few consecutive days of the easiest mission type in the game.

Yes, a Nova by themselves is quite squishy, as I learned.

In a group, with even the slightest bit of latency affording One dozens to hundreds of times greater chances for survival on reduced enemy accuracy alone, even level 100 sorties can be rendered a joke.

And it's a cheap tactic, because it's either do this or die, which means the "difficulty" is in itself cheap.   Make the enemy useless/shut down their AI or die.  There is no in-between.

More people than not, myself in particular, can do without the arbitrary time soaking modes that are defense and survival and interception in their sorties, because sorties really aren't that engaging.  Press four, watch the enemy squirm.  Win.  Minimal effort.  Please give me a riven for a weapon I'll actually use.

Spy sorties are by far the fastest way to finish the game.
In a pug or premade that knows what they are doing, you finish the entire thing in under 3 mins.
Solo, it might take me 5 mins, but it is better than sitting around in eximus defense with no energy.

I rather take that than the Kuva defense I had to endure yesterday.

It must require a cosmic hatred of spy missions to prefer shooting at bullet sponges for half an hour over a mission that can be soloed and allows you to succeed based on agility and stealth over raw damage.

Even going so far as preferring an escort mission instead is truly baffling.
