You'll have to spend a lot of time fishing and mining if you want to farm all the PoE content. It's all gated behind fishing and mining. You literally can't craft anything without those activities.

Get resource boosters before you go fishing.

Drain frames don't work so well.

Snipers and shotguns are good only if your secondaries can cover rapid/long distance fire.

Get sustain - Life strike, Equilibrium, Healing return, Pizzas.

PS: There are new cosmetics for the Lisest that ARE NOT mentioned in the notes.

Try not to get into the mindset of wanting to complete everything as soon as possible or you'll end up burnt out or upset like a lot of people. It was made for players of any level to just go and do to take a break from the rest of the content but since it is rather new everyone is just going for it.

Take your time.

It was kinda annoying to see even the bigger Warframe streamers rushing to be "first" this, and "first" that.

Part in parcel of open world(ish) games is that you do your own thing.

I've just been playing since POE launched at my own pace, checked my fishing inventory the other day and (by my calculation) i could bump myself up 2 ostron tiers (if the wiki numbers are correct) - not all in one go mind, caps and all.

When you begin fishing, bring boosters and a smeeta kavat. Catching 4+ fish in a single catch will help tremendously in getting favor and resources. Same goes for mining.

Volt is the king of fishing. His passive increases the damage of your fishing spear so you can catch any fish. If he should get nerfed so that doesn't happen anymore, then Zephyr is the queen of fishing with her jet stream augment. It increases the velocity of the spear when thrown.

Also, the plains is where Limbo truly shines. He will dominate just about every bounty and incursion with his kit.

Quit your job, and try not to cry when you see the adjusted resource costs that didn't make it into our initial build.

If you consider yourself an endgame player, do yourself a favor and remove a bunch of your mods. I know that sounds counterintuitive, but just take my word for it. Enemies in the plains are very well balanced. Fighting them as a low-level Tenno is very enjoyable.

Like Kuro said, don't worry too much about progression. Pretend it's your first day in WF, when everything was new and exciting, and just enjoy yourself. You can focus on progression once we get the adjusted resource costs.

Get a resource booster, Seriously, get one. It's more worth it in the plains than anywhere else, because some bait requires getting fish that themselves require bait that requires fish, so the booster basically applies multiple times and you end up needing 1/4th or maybe even 1/16th of the work to catch the same number of rare fish.

Oh a little bit of direct gameplay value :

Enemies are being dropped over the ridge/hill 90% of the time.

When you down a capture target, enemies will spawn on it's locations after 5 seconds, don't hug it.

Don't let sniper nests and turrets stay up for a long time.

Weapon with heavy ammo consumption perform poorly unless you bring carrier.

Always kill the flying *clem* units, they will fatigue you down.

Plains of Eidolon is the season of the tank.

Chroma, Rhino, Nezha, Mesa, Atlas, bring frames which can take a beating and keep coming while killing everything. The important thing there is not to assume that you can just DPS your way through everything and kill them faster than they kill you, because constant aerial bombardment is a feature of multiple Bounties.

Using your operator to get to fishing spots without getting detected could be a decent idea if you happen to be at the right spot at the right time, just use void mode and void dash to cover or where enemies don't see you, and snipers will be a good thing to bring to the plains; stuff like vectis prime is pretty good

Just one: Don't expect anything from it.

2.5x2.5 KM in size may sound much for Warframe standards, but once you get there you realize that the map is, at best, a oversized version of the local school's playground.

Eidolons are only fun in the first fight. Then it just gets as boring as any other enemy, only difference that it's a bigger bulletsponge.

While in Cetus, lags are the way to travel.

Somehow level 30 enemies feel more difficult than level 50 enemies, at least for me.

Gunships. People wanted a stronger enemy, what they got was a angry demi-god.

Lots and lots of grind. Want that Zaw blade for you sword? Well, too bad, gotta grind 4 ranks first. Got the rank? Too bad, gotta grind even more points to get the blueprint for the required material.

1. Open plains = 360 degrees of exposure from enemy fire, and all the enemy radar in the system won't be enough to let you see all of it coming. Always try to bring something that can tank or stealth or otherwise deal with and/or avoid getting shot at a lot, especially for the higher tier bounties.

2. The grind, based on my honest guess, was based on a new player accessing the plains early and slowly working on it while going through normal progression. Try to get it all at once and you *will* burn out, unless that's your thing.

3. Mastery from Zaws and Amps are based on the Strike (for Zaw) or Prism (for Amps) part of the weapon; building a second Zaw with the same strike won't give you additional mastery, even if all the other parts are different. Also, neither will give you mastery *at all* until they've been gilded, which requires leveling it to 30 once and then spending standing and wisps (for Zaws) to boost its stats and bring it back to zero.

3a. Also, in the case of Zaws, they aren't really worth building for keeps until you unlock highest tier links, so IMO you shouldn't spend any standing to build one unless it's just for mastery.

4. Mining and Fishing; Learn them, live them, love them, or you won't be getting much of anything new as pretty much everything new needs stuff from those things.

5. Quill standing is best acquired by going after Teracysts (i.e. the massive Eidolons), even if you lack the firepower, team, and/or patience to take one down, poking it will get the smaller eidolons to spawn around and follow along, and you can farm them as they come to you instead of running around the plains looking for two or three at a time. If you spend the whole night cycle, you can get 20-30 of the basic cores, which will get you the first rank in about 3 nights, and enough to craft a better amp than the one you start with. Getting rank 2 (max rank you can get without having to destroy the weakpoint of a Teracycst) would take another 10-12 night cycles doing this though, so this is really just to get standing when you can't take down a Teracyst for whatever reason.

6. You can repeat bounties as many times as you want, even though you only get standing for them the first time you do it per day/night cycle. Just a heads up if you want to farm for some of the bounty-only rewards, like Gara parts or set mods.

7. The level and rewards for Incursions (the random mini-missions that happen when you are in the plains during the day with no bounty) are based on the bounty you took when you first entered. entry with no bounty or a tier 1 or 2 bounty gives you Cycle A rewards, tier 3 or 4 bounty gives you cycle B rewards, and tier 5 bounty gives you the Cycle C rewards.

8. If you hate what they've done to the Focus system, don't worry, DE's already working on replacing it with a full respec again. In the meantime, you can still get your nearly-limitless Zenurik energy, you just have to pick up the focus skill that creates an energy-restore field when you Void Dash and remember to do that whenever you are low.

Some of the points were already said, but I will repeat them, because they are important and some still don't know them:

  • Bounties can be done multiple times, but you will get Ostron standing only once per cycle
  • Efficient way to farm Ostron standing is by fishing Lungfish at night in the pond around a geyser left to Citus and trading it for standing
  • Tanky frames will have less problems in planes; projectile based weapons will suffer
  • Mobility is important, Rush could be helpfull
  • Hidden Grineer cashes (connected to a mission type) can be seen with scaner
  • If mission objective is "Kill x enemies" you don't have to kill them in the marked area, all kills count no matter where
  • Don't buy the second mining tool (even as rank up reward), it is useless and you will just waste your standing
  • You don't have to buy all 3 fishing spears if you go fishing with Volt, again you can save some standing
  • Go fishing with Volt, so that you don't have to juggle with fishing spears
  • Wait with Zaw crafting

Get the max mining cutter asap and once you do, focus on blue ore veins, ignore the reds. The amount of sentirum and nyth needed for the good arcanes is crazy and is only in blue ores and only the max mining lazer can get them. Even then its a slim chance. Just cut the things and go, dont worry about trying to get perfect cuts its a waste of time.

While Sniper rifles now shine at times, keep prepared for close in crowd control. Mobs drop directly on you at times...in groups.

PoE really was made for squads. One person to snipe, one for crowd control, one for heavy hitting, and one to watch in every direction at once as they heal the rest, lol. You can do it on your own with work, but squads working together make it cake.

Personally, I say to forget Corrosive Projection aura. Take Rejuvenation or Energy Siphon as best fits your build. Nothing really has heavy armor in the plains, but relying on health/energy orbs or pizzas is a pain.

Don't worry about radar mods on the pains. Distances too great to be efficient. Learn to see mobs by sight, movement and locating the direction you're being hit from by your shield/health HUD indicator.

For Skywing, I recommend Amesha if you have it. The #1 (Watchful Swarm) for intercepting fire keeps you up longer. Take too much damage in Skywing and it drops you out of it. Great to be up high and snipe though....until you run out of ammo and have to swoop the ground to find it,lol.

Get used to avoiding the water. Use the mini-map to keep aware of where it's at and use Aim-Glide/etc to avoid it. Magnetic and drains Energy.

When taking on groups at distance, move sideways while firing. The days of corridors is over. A lot of enemies will still track you, but the explosive (ie, massive damage) weapons are not hit-scan, so constantly moving keeps you alive.

Last, and certainly not least: Learn to use the new switching to your Operator and back. Fluidly. Not only for procing your new Focus passives, but also for Eidolon fights.

Oh, and buy a PC ^.^

Have a strong Radiation or Corrosive weapon on hand at all times for when an Ogma decides to ruin your day. Also a weapon capable of long range.

Bring a form of health sustain, HP drops are pretty rare here.

Resource boosters help immensely

Get a Tier 2 Amp before attempting to kill an Eidolon in more organized runs

Do Saya's Vigil first to access the Quills (and your new focus powers)

Use this *shamelessly shares thread

Do the Gara Quest you can start from Konzu, just make that the very 1st thing you do as it allows access to the Quills and your Mote Amp.

When you know you're about to level up your standing in Cetus (and the quills) make sure you look at what items will be available to collect for free on level up, Some may look more useful, but go for the most expensive, choosing a 7,500 fishing spear over a 15,000 gem blueprint is not advisable.

Concentrating on just pushing through the Ostron levels as fast as possible is advised, I know the Zaws look cool, but they can wait till you're at max Ostron level and the cosmetics will come around again on rotation.

Remember only Amp Prisms and Zaw Strike parts get Mastery Rank Affinity after they are gilded, they are:

Granmu Prism, Mote Amp, Raplak Prism, Shwaak Prism (yes you need to gild your s#!tty Mote Amp, hang on to it until you're done with Ostron levelling)
Balla, Cyath, Dehtat, Kronsh, Mewan, Ooltha.

If you want the best Amp (or at least most useful IMHO) ASAP, save your Quill standing for the following parts:
Shwaak Prism, Pencha Scaffold, Juttni Brace.

Use the Wiki When fishing, it helps immensely.

Skip the Focused Nosam Cutter, I don't think it's worth it, it's only a little better than the base cutter, the Advanced version is far superior to both, save for that if you can.

unless you really like fishing and Mining, I suggest you save your time and plat for a weekend and get a 3 day double drop booster and just fish/mine for the entire time it's active, particularly with the more difficult fish to catch like Norgs. getting 2 for 1 is such a time saver, and remember when hunting the blue mining points, if you get Sentirum or Nyth, you only ever get 1 drop no matter how good you cut, the double drop booster is nice in this regard as you will get 2 a cut.

If you want to maximise your Ostron standing and resource collection, I suggest doing a level 5 bounty, then stay in the plains, go fishing/mining then do the random alert bounties that pop up every few minutes, they give about 800 standing per bounty (maybe more now) and often can only take 30 seconds. If you have a good squad (who you know) one or 2 of you can do the alert bounty then rotate who does the next one etc. while the rest of the squad is fishing/mining.

Max out your Standing each day, The daily timer reset (also for log in rewards) can be seen in the vendors daily specials page, you can see how much Standing you have left to collect that day from going to sell fish or gems for standing even if you don't do the trade.

Remember you can check the time via the bounty select menu, Night Time is the last 50 minutes of the timer, if it's at 53 minutes, you know the Teralyst will spawn in 3 minutes.

So no melee in sky archwing???

Nope, you don't use your archwing weapons at all, but your standard 'frame weapons, with melee taking you out of archwing (air dash attack if your are boosting, otherwise ground slam).

In fact, Skywing is quite a bit meh at the moment. You can get knocked out of the sky if you ever get hit with certain weapons (rockets mainly) and it seems like EVERYTHING can fire theses things if you are in an archwing, often in high enough volume that you will run out of energy for flares or whatever anti-missile skill your 'wing has long before you find and kill everything that's trying to bring you back to earth. Pair that with the fact you aren't able to rain death with your Grattler or Fluctus, and most people after getting the chevo for killing enemies in archwing usually just use it for fast travel.

Fishing is by far the fastest and easiest way to rank up with Cetus. I caught hundreds of murkrays last week and now I'm max rank with them.

Just make sure to use dye and the right bait in hotspots at the right time of day for each fish. You can also buy fish from other players if you don't want to catch it yourself.
