The price of Heirloom skins is incredibly disappointing.
(PSN)robotwars7 replied to Kymaeraa's topic in General Discussion
you just made the problem 100x worse by locking actual content - not just cosmetics, but actual frames that give mastery points - behind a paywall: and if these versions are better than Mag/Frost Prime, it'd also be pay 2 win by definition. the optimal solution is far more simple: reduce the price to something more reasonable and do away with the limited time FOMO rubbish, putting it in line with every other cosmetic bundle in the game.- 1,372 replies

Adding Stance Change to the Dark Split Sword
(PSN)robotwars7 replied to Xamuswing's topic in General Discussion
+!. I've wanted this for a while as well: it kills me how DE added Ghoulsaw and Heavy Scythes - 2 ENTIRELY NEW weapon types - without so much as mentioning dark split sword. personally I'd prefer a unique stance where you switch forms mid-combo, which would also allow Split-Swords to become a weapon class all it's own and allow for more of them to be added in the future, but dedicated stances with a heavy attack switch would still be fine too, and a lot easier to implement. -
I would like for each companion type to actually be distinctive and have a particular use, and for the ones that are intended to deal damage to actually deal real damage. also, reworking their survivability to scale with enemy level/your warframe/ using better mods. not fussed which method is used as long as it works.

You guys played The First Descendant yet? How is it?
(PSN)robotwars7 replied to Amolistic.'s topic in Off Topic
personally.. I actually enjoyed it. like anything, it has it's pros and cons + as far as Betas go, it was VERY stable; I expected to be disconnected repeatedly, and it only happened once the entire time. there were admittedly other glitches that prevented fast travel/accessing missions, but I've played WAY worse Betas than that. if the game launches in this condition, I think I'll be pretty satisfied. + Graphics look awesome, not really into the "korean MMO sheen" of the actual characters faces, but it's nothing that can't be solved with skin, or just flat-out ignored. everything else looks amazing as far as F2P games go. + gunplay is fantastic; all weapons feel as beefy as they're supposed to and have great audio, they also are effective, and quite well designed visually. + modding system.. probably appears complicated to most people, but once you realize it's literally the same as warframe's systems (mods, capacity, items to increase capacity etc.), it's simple enough. the UI for some mods could be better (some symbols are really small, I can see that being an issue for visually impaired players). there are also unique mods that alter powers and mods that change your melee attack for any character. + loot is decent: the devs know we don't want to waste time with White/Green gear and so blues drop like candy, but all weapons feel good and effective regardless of rarity. - there are timers for some of the boss fights in the story, and I'm not sure why.. especially when it's only like 7 minutes and 2 of those have to be spent clearing adds... kinda weird and makes missions way harder than they need to be, especially for solo players. - the grind looks like it *might* not be so great, mainly in regards to getting resources; no way in hell I'd be able to make Kyle before the Beta ends because you need hundreds of a particular component and it seems like I get 4 from the one mission that drops it.. safe to say, if you're looking for a F2P that isn't grindy, you won't find it here. I'm guessing bundles of mats will be available for the premium currency of course.. - one system that caught me out was the levelling system for Ultimate Weapons; these are legendary weapons that don't drop from regular mobs, you have to do a quest for them, a bit like some Destiny Exotics: no biggie, but then when you get the weapon... it's lvl 1, no matter what. the only way to bring it up to your character's level is to go through the rigmarole of crafting 5 Phase Reactors and using an existing weapon of a higher level to put that level on your shiny legendary gun (you still keep both guns though). I suppose it's intended as a constant source of income from active players like Forma is to us warframe players, but it feels like such a dirty tactic IMO: I'd rather they just scale an ultimate to your current character's level straight away, but if it brings in money you know they won't change it. - not as much chat support in the beta, which might get fixed, but ultiamtley it just became like region chat on warframe, with an extra dose of thirsty bois talking about Bunny (if you know, you know). - not being able to invite unless in the hubworld kind of sucks, hoping that gets fixed in the release, I see no reason not to allow other players to join in battlegrounds, even if you're already in a mission. overall, it has it's ups and downs, but this game is VERY promising IMO. I won't buy into any hype fully, since I know better after Anthem, but if the devs for this actually care, it could really go places: there's already endgame in the form of Colossus fights and Horde Mode missions like Mine Blocking, and no doubt fashion will be the endgame as well, since each descendant is customizable with skins and up to 6 different colours (might be improved even more on release). as long as the devs don't get too greedy and the servers behave themselves, I see no reason why this game can't flourish! -
What things in Warframe are truly "alien"?
(PSN)robotwars7 replied to Zahnny's topic in General Discussion
to be honest, The Void is all the alien anyone ever needs: it can literally create anything through conceptual embodiment, and it's "natural" entities are described by Drusus as "if hell has a hell, they would come from there", so lord knows what abominations Wally makes by himself. then of course there is the perspective of what is "alien", or unknown. it's a big system and many factions, like the Ostrons and Setients, don't usually meet each other, and may have only heard stories and legends about them. usually this is the result of one faction being isolated from the rest of the system, those who have frequent interaction via trade or warfare are able to separate fact from fiction, such as the Grineer and Corpus, who know about each other cultures. -
Should we have decrees outside Duviri ?
(PSN)robotwars7 replied to 0_The_F00l's topic in General Discussion
no thanks, we already steamroll high levels outside Duviri as it is, they aren't needed, and while some will argue "but it could be fun", you know people will just abuse it like everything else, so I'd rather Decrees just stay in Duviri. -
Help me progress (2yrs in game intermittently)
(PSN)robotwars7 replied to batuhankyb's topic in General Discussion
a good start would be to get to finish all the starchart to unlock arbitrations, then run Arbitrations for the Galvanized Mods: not only will these mods help greatly increase the effectiveness of all your weapons, you also get a ton of Endo along the way, so you'll never need to worry about ranking mods up again. after a while, you'll be ready for things Exploiter Orb and such, and then with more practice and better loadouts, you'' be able to take on the likes of Archon Hunts and Steel Path Missions, which grant things that give you even MORE power. -
Suspended from Region Chat for Pancakes VS Waffles?
(PSN)robotwars7 replied to Atomic_Noodles's topic in General Discussion
other topics to avoid, for future reference: - the pronunciation of Scone, and whether or not jam or cream goes on first. - Chevrolet vs Ford - most words in the english language with -ussy added on the end - talking about the moderators themselves - comparing warframe to *insert online multiplayer co-op game here* - obvious hard topics like religion, politics, sexual identity etc. - basically everything else. -
Will There Be More Incarnon Weapons?
(PSN)robotwars7 replied to TheGiantFox's topic in General Discussion
would be nice, though aside from something ultra powerful and long range like Gorgon's Incarnon, I'm not sure what it'd do. -
Even when you get your own build for SP circuit, it's still a bad time
(PSN)robotwars7 replied to Void2258's topic in General
there's a chance that maybe part of the companion rework will be allowing them into Circuit (probably randomized), but I suppose the reason they weren't added to start with is because let's face it; the vast majority of companions are trash and the only on eI can see OP building around is a Vulpaphyla anyway. current companions don't last 2 seconds on regular Steel path, they'd be even more usless in SPC where enemy level ramps up so quickly. would be interesting to see them in Circuit post-rework, especially if we also got Companion Decrees, though I imagine they won't be too powerful, because DE doesn't like AI playing the game for you (that's the reasoning they nerfed Wukong's Celestial Twin anyway). -
no thanks, I think the gargantuan effort that would go into a city should go into renovating existing tilesets instead.
-
Saryn requires a setup and a little time before Spores get to the point where they are "nuking", Thermal Sunder is more of a Helminth issue, it just happens to be one of the best Helminth abilities. it's also difficult to balance so many powers, with new ones being added frequently on top of that.
-
would be nice, especially if each type of companion got a passive synergy with certain frames: - Voruna would Buff Kubrows, giving them increased damage and defense. - Khora would buff Kavats, increasing damage and status chance - Nidus would synergize with Chargers, increasing damage and giving them rapid health regeneration. their kills would also grant a stack to Nidus. - Heminth would offer a buff that could be applied to any frame for increased performance on Predasites and Vulpaphylas; since they are modular pets, they should be usable on any frame. - Vauban could be the one to provide a buff to MOAs and Hounds. either that, r they could be modualr too, with perhaps some sort of device available in Fortuna that allows a chosen frame to buff companions.

SP circuit things. (Long essay warning)
(PSN)robotwars7 replied to Amolistic.'s topic in General Discussion
Rhino is pretty great, but he's far from mandatory in circuit: I suppose the major factor is how well-modded your other frames are, but I don't usually get Rhino and if I do, I'll probably use him if nobody else is running DPS or if I'm the only Rhino (no point having 2 since Roar doesn't stack.). otherwise Garuda, Saryn, Mesa and Baruuk if they pop up are usually better picks for DPS without relying on weapons, and if we already have DPS on the squad, I'll run Oberon, Protea or Wisp if they're available. point is, I've used basically every frame in SPC at one point or another and at no point did I think any particular one would be "mandatory". -
it's 2023 and we have timey-wimey BS in the story; anyone can be anything, literally.
-
to be fair, prior to Duviri, a lot of people were complaining that there were no game modes to take powerful gear too and actually feel like that powerful gear has worth, that it was pointless to slap 6 formas on a weapon since most content can be done with unforma'd weapons etc.. now we have people saying it's unfair that they suddenly need invested weapons in order to perform well... fact is, DE cannot win no matter what they do. aside from not having full control of your gear, people like me who did bother to invest in our weaponry have no problem with the system as it currently is, and is it really too much to ask that you have a few decently modded weapons in order to play a mode that is effectively aimed at experienced players and offers very valuable rewards? the only change I'd make is for players to be able to guarantee ONE item of their choice, but it costs a significant amount of resources: maybe also increase rewards for sticking with random loadout picks. that way players can't expect to rely on a crutch weapon/frame, and it still encourages people to brave the circuit with random weapons.

I want to fight an Armored Core
(PSN)robotwars7 replied to (XBOX)CaligulaTwily's topic in General Discussion
I'm definitely curious what other faction mechs would look like, and I always figured Corpus mechs would be rather sleek, agile things, either like a lighter Armored Core such as White Glint from AC5 or a Gundam. Grineer Mechs by comparison would be more like Titanfall mechs or Fallen Brigs/walkers from Destiny: large, hulking, armor-plated monstrosities covered in firepower and relying less on speed and more on being able to just devastate an area with sheer firepower. both would be great to go up against, and even better if we could try them out for ourselves! -
improvements would be nice, but we all know how DE feels about reworking reward systems.. personally I only spend mine on Riven Ciphers and arcane adapters... when I even remember to lol, haven't touched incursions in a while, mainly just been doing Archons and SPC.
-
IMO it's mainly bronze arcanes and companion arcanes that need help the most. the ones that grant elemental resistance are probably among the worst.

Do we have any translation for Voidtongue yet?
(PSN)robotwars7 replied to Dr.Tursko's topic in General Discussion
probably something along the lines of "I'm going to totally consume all of existence and there's not a damn thign you can do to stop me, even with the powers I gave you, lol" far as we can tell, even the Orokin may not have figured out Voidtongue, or if they did, the records of it may have been destroyed in the old war: the only person alive who can translate is Albrecht Himself, but he's looking like he's being set up as something of an antagonist in the future; and this is assuming that really WAS Albrecht we saw and not straight up wally. I doubt Albrecht, and certainly wally, would ever give up the secrets of Void Tongue, in case it might be something the Tenno can weaponize against them. there's a theory that the Void Tongue is just a way of manipulating void energy via sound, so if it's possible to potentially control the void, even wally himself, by uttering the right words, that's not something he's goign to let slip. it also draws interesting parallels with the myth of "demon names", that once you know a Demon's actual name, you can make it do your bidding. there's a LOT of questions, and we're just gonna have to wait for the answers, all I can say for sure is that i LOVE the occultism of the Entrati research, and the visuals and sounds of the Necralisk are awesome, among the best in the game IMO. I still go back to albrechts original entries from time to time, and will probably do so again before Whispers in The Wall! -
it is. Deimos suffered a similar fate, but the strains are slightly different: Deimos has the "grey strain" which doens't seem to be able to assimilate synthetic material too well, hence why much of the Isolation Vaults are infested but still intact with infestation growing on the walls, while Eris has alad V's Mutalist Strain, which can assimilate anything: rock, metal, flesh etc, so it makes more sense for the planetoid* itself to essentially start "decaying" as it gradually turns into a single, Massive Infested organism. anyway, never mind the skybox, the tileset itself needs a rework: the claustrophobic corridors are not scary anymore, just annoying to navigate. *is it a planetoid or a satellite? I'm no astronomer, I didn't even know it existed until warframe lol.

or you could just trade plat until you can afford to bu one outright. IIRC it coems with mods and a Rector Installed as well. you can also skip the parts farming by trading. that only applies in Conjunction survival; you can use mechs as much as you want on Open Worlds maps (Plains, Orb Vallis and Deimos) and in railjack missions both aboard the Railjack and when aboard enemy bases/ships. the cooldown only applies there if the mech is destroyed, but with a full complement of mods, the Voidrig is actually VERY hard for enemies to kill, even in railjack. as for "pay 2 win"... I wish people would stop using terms they don't fully understand.
