  1. Another stance For them would be nice, Vulpine Mask works well enough IMO but variety is always nice to have. I like the new skin though, major "what if the Corpus saw a Cup-Hilt Rapier?" vibe, though functionally it's more like a cattle prod lol.
  2. a LOT of revenants got folded by the 60 eye boss, before it became public knowledge that it cancles abilities. even I was thinking "can just use Revenant if I wanted to", but then I heard the news and my eyebrows raised "really? huh. that's pretty neat." Revenant absolutely can contributeto a game; Enthralling causes enough agro diversions to keep defense objectives alive and while not his bets ability, his 4 can still kill stuff on normal (granted, it falls of on SP like everything else, but your gripe was specifically about Revenant being used by NEW players, so that rules SP out). he isn't the best pick for every mode, but than no frames really are: some can be a decent jack of all trades thoguh, and for the most part, you really can just put his 2 on and be absolutely fine. people have always played frames with durability powers this way; Rhino is usually first, then it was Inaros, then it was Wukong and now it's Revenant. eventually another frame will come along that can also be practically invincible, and people will gravitate to them too: life goes on. personally I think people should at least try to make the effort to use all of a frames kit, to see what works and what doesn't, because there's a good chance they might find something fun about them, or discover a playstyle they never even thought of, but at the end of the day I also accept that people should be able to play how they want to, and if all they want to do is put on Mesmer Skin, and shoot stuff, that's fun enough for them, then sure, whatever floats their boat. it's not my way, but it's not a wrong way either. try to respect other people's ways of playing, otherwise you're gonna rub people the wrong way.
  3. Duplex Bond is actually pretty good, but even if it was trash, i'd still use it just to see my Carrier Prime choose violence. I'll never forget when i first saw it: Me: "wait, carrier actually cloned? Omg where.. Wheres he going?" My Carrier, chasing some poor Crewman: "I KNOW you're carrying ammo and loot, drop it now! STOP RESISTING!!"
  4. Honestly, OP made good points but I think it's too late for archwing now. Unless DE themselves talk about it on a devstream, everything else is wishful thinking, nothing more. Imagine if Doom Guy didnt run everywhere. It'd suck right? DOOM and Warframe are different games but both of them focus on the principle of being extremely fast-paced and relentless in the pressure to keep the player moving. If you slow down, you die. If you stop, you die. You HAVE to keep moving, no matter what. In warframe you CAN stop, especially if your frame happens to be tanky, but many players don't want to and the game is at its best when you take advantage of the high speeds you can reach. There is NO place, outside of hubs and relays, where a warframe is inclined to move at a slower pace, 99% of our time is spent in the midst of combat, where slowing down is hazardous to your health. If there were alternatives like actual stealth mechanics or a cover system, then maybe sprinting everywhere wouldn't be so important; but we don't have those, nor do I think we need them, as long as we have our agility, and that could be made better by having a toggle for sprinting. I suppose ultimately, both systems have their pros and cons, and you may be used to different things, but personally i feel getting knocked out of sprint harms the fluidity of the gameplay pacing and it'd be easier to parkour with one speed setting as well.
  5. There might be more in the run-up to TennoCon, if not sooner. I'm surprised how much we're gettin for St. Patrick's Day, besides the usual colour palette returning.
  6. nah, even if it wasn't rigged (it most likley is), there's always enough active newbies fighting their first razorback to fill the bar up. nothing to worry about. good news for most people, but I've always been curious what the relay would look like if the Corpus took it: would they tax us in credits to enter it? would it be renovated to look all Corpus-y? sadly, we'll never know.
  7. I always liked the idea of beign able to run both powers (day and night) simultaneously, but the power for the form she's NOT using at the time would be a little weaker, so it enocurages players to still switch form based on what powers they need at that moment, while also allowing players to make full use of equinox's kit, and those who can muster the effort -and energy- to manage several draining powers at once would benefit greatly. I also wouldn't mind her "neutral" form being usable, where her powers are weaker but if you die, you just split into day/night form and the other form fights alongside you (Duality augment made base ability). Equinox is unfortunately in that awkward spot of being too effective and popular to warrant a rework, but still not quite effective enough to be considered "perfect".
  8. I'm sure it'll be fine, and I'm also sure people wanted Eclipse to be consistent more for the outgoing damage boost than the incoming damage reduction: everybody wants to be the DPS, even if it means being a glass cannon. I'm not even a huge fan of Mirage but I definitely like the changes they are making to her. I might finally be able to replace Quick Thinking with something else and not feel vulnerable to a light breeze.
  9. amazes me that some people are still trying to get "smell-O-vision" to be a thing: the easiest way to overload someone's senses, or make them leave, is through bad smells; nobody wants to be in a room where someone's farted, right? I get the idea with the "gunfire" being more immersive for playing shooters etc, but I can smell real gunpowder anytime lol, why drink off-brand Soda when you can have Coke?
  10. primaries: Tigris Prime, Sybaris Prime, Dex Sybaris, Prisma Grinlok, and all the true LMGs (Soma Prime, Quellor, Supra Vandal and Trumna). I like my overwhelming firepower but Tigris and lever-action rifles tickle my pickle in the best way. secondaries: Magnus Prime, AkLex Prime, AkVasto prime, , but also a few auto pistols like Kuva Twin Stubbas, Aksomati Prime and Quatz. melees: I'll run anything tbh, but heavy blades, nikanas, TH Nikanas and polearms are probably my favourites.
  11. most of my frames still run their intended abilities. it's mainly frames like Dagath and Sevagoth, where you have to cast multiple abilities often, that really don't gel with most helminth options, as half their kit is being spammed and the other half is needed occasionally too; there isn't really any room for a subsume IMO. the subsumes I like most are Gloom (turned Nekros into a tank) and Wrathful Advance on Ash and Atlas. (Ash no longer needs Fatal teleport, Red Crit Landslide Atlas is just too much fun).
  12. oh paragraphing, how I miss you so... Archgun Arcanes, maybe; anything to make them as powerful as they ought to be (though) whether simply giving everything underpowered an arcane slot is the answer is another debate entirely). I doubt necramechs in normal missions was forgotten, so much as quietly cancelled, considering how insanely powerful Voidrig is, and people don't want to see warframes get trivialized by a much tankier, more powerful DPS with no real downside. the only caveat to using Mechs on the labs is needing to find a computer first, and if you know the tiles, even that's not a problem. I have a fully modded Voidrig, with Necramech Rage and Repair, and it has no problems surviving in steel path, so I doubt very much we actually need Arcanes for them. I would like a heavy gunner frame, not gonna lie, but that's entirely down to personal preference. Exalted Archgun could be done but exalted necramech sounds like a bit of a stretch, considering regular ones aren't added to normal tiles yet. Mk5? what happened to Mk4? did all the prototypes fail or something? lol. again, I don't know if simply slapping an arcane slot on everything is a good way to buff them. we always get new syndicates in major updates anyway, and I think some people are tired of needing to grind and contend with daily standing caps to get the 5 ranks they need to get all the new shiny things. forward artillery upgrades would be neat though. I dunno about fighting Deimos *itself* but should infested railjack ever be a thing, it would be cool to fight something akin to jordas Golem, or have to chase and destroy a plague star before it hits earth or something.
  13. there was a point during prime unvaulting where I swear they didn't release anyone other than Frost Prime and Ember Prime. I think it must have been like 3 times back to back, it got to the point of rolling my eyes when it turned out to be frost and Ember all the time. but yeah, now it's the opposite; where both frames are actually overdue to be brought back. I'm sure she will be back eventually, it's just not confirmed when. no, that's a separate issue, and one that can affect all frames, not just Ember.
  14. people really don't like Archwings, and necramechs have gradually gone that ways since Orphix Venom when players were basiclaly forced to use them. personally I'd say scrap archwing powers and just make them a transport tool (that's all they're ever used for now anyway), and put their powers into helminth after considerably buffing them. they still wouldn't hold a candle to the likes of (soon to be nerfed) nourish, gloom etc, but they'd at least be a valid choice. sadly I don't think any of our ideas are worth DE's time, so they're just gonna keep letting archwing rot away slowly like conclave and Lunaro.
  15. either make it scale based of melee slam damage or change it for something else. personally I always liked this idea new passive: Momentum: as Rhino begins to sprint, his speed gradually increases until it reaches his sprint speed +50%. while sprinting, any enemies that rhino contacts are violently pushed away, dealing impact damage and dizzying them after they recover, causing their accuracy to be reduced for 10 secs. in addition, he also automatically breaks any breakable object he sprints into (containers, entrati lab furniture etc) Rhino is described as the heaviest warframe, he should feel like an juggernaut, and this would go a long way to give him that feeling again!
  16. I play both, there really aren't many similarities besides "it's third person and there's guns" even back in the old days, Warframe wasn't as strict about things as Helldivers can be; you don't lose your ammo on a partial reload for example, or have to wait before you can use a Stratagem again. Warframe has always emphasised fast-paced gameplay and non-stop action it just got much faster and better at doing that over the years. I am thoroughly enjoying HD2 though, and I'd recommend it to anyone, especially in a few more weeks when hopefully a lot of the issues with the game are finally fixed and everything is running as it's supposed to.
  17. combined viral mods will probably never happen, unless it gets nerfed/capped somehow. on the other end of the spectrum you have blast which is basically useless, nobody mods for it anyway, but all the other elements (Corrosive, Magnetic, Gas) would be nice to have in one mod. ultimately though it's up to DE. I like the radiation set too, but I don't expect more sets to appear.
  18. Pablo's post is kind of worrying if you think about it. firstly it basically confirms that Loki is never getting a rework, because it would invalidate his identity. I get that, but I think someone like @Skoomaseller would also see the irony in him saying that while at the same time making an augment for Yareli that impairs her unique identity as the K-drive frame. so which is it, Pablo? does a frame's identity have to be taken into account when reworking/giving them augments or not? I'm getting mixed messages here. secondly, Pablo basically acknowledges that the state of the game is one of "if it doesn't nuke or use meta damage types like viral/slash, it's less effective", and it's true, he has a point, and this is also how a lot of people, especially metaheads, think. DE have painted themselves into a corner with all the nuke frames and with design choices that make only DPS frames top picks, compared to the CC and Support frames, which are generally less relevant, and stealth abilities for frames like Ash, Ivara, and indeed Loki are basically irrelevant outside of Spy missions. IMO DE really need to start looking into other kinds of game modes besides ones where the rate of kills per second is the only main factor; Disruption does this pretty well, since you only have to worry about the Demolyst: we need more modes like this where CC and non-DPS oriented frames can shine as well.
  19. it's mainly just headcanon, but based on him being described as an "heir of twin kingdoms" and a fusion of Warframe and Sentient tech, I'd like to think Ballas intended for Caliban to be a bodyguard/assistant, and a contingency should the Sentients ever decide to betray him. there's no way of getting around the fact he's sub par, and needs reworking. his kit would still be all over the place (CC, summons and a burst damage/debuff ult, hell of a mish-mash) even after a rework, but that shouldn't be a reason for him to not get one. I suppose given how many frames there are, on or two are bound to slip their mind. ultimately, I think it's not so much "hatred" for Caliban, but apathy.. which is arguably worse as it means people simply don't care enough for him to be looked at and fixed. I suppose it didn't help that New War's narrative was rushed and after like a year of hype we got a meh quest and the post-quest content was literally just reskinned bounties on the Plains and Orb Vallis. about the only truly good thing that came out of the whole ordeal was that Ballas died, so outside of prime trailers we never have to hear of him again. as a result of this, the community may associate Caliban with one of the less favourable periods of warframe's history as well, so that leads people to want to avoid talking about him. on the plus side, he's yet to be primed, so He may finally get fixed then, but even that could be seen as wishful thinking.
  20. we kind of have this already, Ventkids can be seen in the Bash lab that offers Yareli and Kompressa Parts. we also had Fibonacci speaking through the Gargoyle, and not everyone liked it. typical: all the factions, all the different NPCs and the one that gets in are my least favourite group.
  21. I don't think anyone outside of DE was expecting anything less than mobile hosts to result in minimal spawns and insane latency. I really don't understand how they can look at warframe, then look at a phone and think "yeah, this could totally run on that no problem!" it's like trying to fit a hotdog sausage through the eye of a needle. I guess it was just another plan to get another playerbase going and therefore more revenue, but damn, they need to stop thinking with the Grofit mentality and try something else: sure, they have even more players now, but everybody else who was already playing is now saddled with a chance of getting an even worse host than a console host, by an order of magnitude from the sounds of things.. this whole ordeal feels incredibly short-sighted to me..
  22. DE painted themselves into a corner by constantly making new frames, while the rate of reworks and fixes for frames was almost nothing in comparison. most fixes are done to the newest frame to ensure it still sells (Xaku and Kullervo come to mind) but once the community "accepts" it, it gets left for months or even years. look how long it's taken just to get them to acknowledge Mirage's Eclipse needed fixing.. I love DE but they are WAY out of touch with how a lot of frames are used/not used, and no, posting usage stats doesn't prove anything: that just shows they have the numbers, not that they are willing to address the reasons why the numbers are the way they are. it's easy to say "Caliban is never used", without asking "why is Caliban never used?" we now have so many frames that it's pretty much impossible now for there to be consistent reworks, and yeah, it grinds my gears a lot. Yareli is unfortunately just one of several frames that are on the pile of "effective enough but could be much better" along with Chroma, Equinox, Loki, etc. it also means those damn kids are forever in my dojo now.. touching all my decorations with their grubby little hands... pests, the lot of them!
  23. Its ok, the longer it takes to rework Caliban, the stronger he'll have to be when they finally get around to it. If we trash his name enough, we can turn him into laser-beaming commander of a Sentient Army. It'll be like the Narmer occupation all over again, but Calibanarmer!!
