  1. Not necessarily. Deluxe skins are brought for Plat. Heirlooms would still be money purchases, in such cases. We can be reductive in lots of ways. Deluxe skins are just regular skins you buy with Plat. Tennogen are just Deluxe Skins that on PC you have to buy with money, and on console, can't be discounted. It should be beside your point, because I am not sure what your argument here is. That they should have just released the Heirloom Skins as Deluxe Skins originally? If so, I agree completely, that would have been nice. I am not a pro Heirloom skin person. I am a "I am interested and like to observe and make generalisations about human behaviour in the context (sales marketing, public perception, damage control, statistics, consumer rights, consumer satisfaction, of such situations" type person. I most explained that in my post. Its a question with potential downsides and upsides. There is always going to be context and framing involved. When we think of negativity, was one hundred percent of the Warframe playerbase negative in an extreme way? Like on a scale of 0 to 10, 10 being most negative, was it 9 to 10? Well no, the Warframe playerbase is hardly ever that in agreement and unison. Was it 60%? If so, out of that 60% what were the ranges of the level of negativity? As far as the scale of 1 to 10. Also at what measure, is it something DE doesn't need to worry or care about? Like hypothetically if it was just 15% of the player base, contrary to some peoples ideas, thats actually still a significant chunk of players, potentially tens of thousands, and even if they are not the majority, its still an important minority to want to appease and reconcile with, especially if it can be done so easily. One general error, that a lot of people tend to make, when they have negative feelings or critical thoughts against something, is overestimating how much other people feel the same way, or similar, because they often frame the situation as "most people" or the majority feel this way, as a way to heavily insinuate or frame that the people responsible should change to accommodate that. Not necessarily realising that even if its actually a minority and a small minority, many of the same issues, criticisms etc are still valid and important and worth accommodating. However one of the side issues this can also create, is just how they frame and put into context their views with other peoples views, including those with a lot more general apathy and not so strong views, whether positive or negative. Which isn't helped, because often in such discussions, its people with stronger views that often end up clashing and reenforcing perspectives. Anyway. So with that, how would you personally frame, the amount of people who feel negative and to what extent as far as thinking the skins are tarnished beyond being redeemable? On what basis as far as lending credit to the accuracy of your assertion? I'm the kind of person, to know enough, to know I don't know enough. I also know that DE has far as more internal tools, for stats, and purchases to likely know much more than I do. They can probably tell how much they mess up or succeed (even if both can occur at the same time too). Also, on top of all that, it could also be a good idea to try and change the association completely as well. I am not saying they won't. Here's the thing though. If Ember and Mesa get two new Ultimate Deluxe Skins at the end of this year? With pearlescent effects on their bodies, that change with the energy colours you choose, and they both come with Signa... and they cost real money. Then there is a top tier bundle which will give you Regal Aya, Platinum, and some other stuff. You don't think people are going to be like... Oh, so Heirlooms 2.0? This is just Heirlooms but without "whatever they exclude"? Alternatively, if enough improvements cover enough of the issues people had against them, despite some individuals beliefs and views, many people will be happy to flip over. Which is, for good or worse, something that happens over and over often enough already. You know for some people, the Regal Aya changes weren't enough, and it was still horrible and worse for players and they quit? Did every person who was critical of Regal Aya initially quit? I know I didn't, because for some people, its not as bad or serious as it is for some others. For people, some mountains to die on, are just hills, and so on. I doubt this, as much as I would want it, but maybe that could be one of the changes they have planned. As far as Mag and frost Heirloom availability. Maybe they announce two new Warframe Heirlooms, and they make it clear "this bundle will go away after this period, for a long time, but... it will eventually return. In light of that decision, since it would be strange to have some Warframe Heirloom skins, return, and others not, Mag and Frost Heirlooms will also periodically return, as enough of our players made it clear they prefer it this way". For some players, even that wouldn't get rid of the bad taste. For some, its the kind of change that would soften their stance. I am not a telepath, I don't know what the magic thresholds or decisions that influence such thresholds will be, of the entire potential playerbase, but there are a few different ideas I know decently well. Like some people are more forgiving than others in such situations, depending on what changes are made. Again, if I have to repeat it for clarity, I am not making any sort of suggestions about what players individually should feel fine with, just emphasising how people can be different. I'm probably going to be the next Dragon Age game when it comes out. I won't preorder it (since I don't agree with preorders, even with games I am sure will be good), even with all my criticisms of Bioware and EA. Since I still like that game series. On the other hand, I also won't ever likely play No Mans Sky. Even though I think what happened with the game is great, as far as how they committed to improving over what was a very questionable start.
  2. Eh, whilst I get your point and don't disagree. People on the whole? May not behave this way. Consider Regal Aya. Horrible at first, the improved version went over much better. For many, the bad tastes was removed. Whilst I think the "improved version" of Heirlooms was still incredibly lacking, and didn't actually address most of the issues and complaints people had... If the next Heirloom pack was significantly improved, less bundling, less FOMO elements, cheaper, etc and had two really really good skins for popular Warframes... A lot of peoples attitudes will probably change, not to mention, a lot of people weren't that bothered in the first place. You will have people who will legitimately think, that "the first Heirlooms were a train wreck, but I am glad they improved the situation now, and we got good skins and in a better way", even if you have a lot of who are still very critical. Like not all people think and behave the same. We can all be a bit fickle depending on the situation and observations, perceptions of others. People also often, when critical, like to caution and take a more cynical approach to ideas of the same type. Except cynical isn't always realistic or to put it another way, cynicism can be expressed in various ways. "People" as well as being fickle, also can have short term memories. Or they might simple not feel as strongly or offended and can be more forgiving and easily pleased than others. Its tricky too, because for every example you can have of someone "endorsing bad policies" by ending up "on the other side", you will find people who could potentially accuse you of similar behaviour elsewhere or in some other context. For myself personally, if they put them on a long rotation, as in you could only buy then during certain periods, that would alleviate my biggest issue. Though, if they also improved/lessened the bundling aspects, since not all people need to get Plat/Regal Aya if they are just after a nice skin etc, also great. Better options for more people, since on the whole, people can have different issues, struggles etc. That all also being said, like I said, I wouldn't blame people for having a perma bad tastes either, regardless of what DE do, even if they did improve the Heirlooms. Totally legit and valid to feel that way.
  3. Interesting comparison and well written write up. I personally tend to find both pretty convenient to play, and whilst I did invest in both, I remember feeling both were pretty effective, even when I first used them, with low investment. I remember being impressed I could effectively one shot Acolytes when I took them out for the first time (so no Forma, just with Reactors installed, doing a SP Survival). Funnily enough, when I think of both, I tend to think of the environment I will use them in. I tend to like using Dagath in longer corridors and choke points, like Orokin tile sets in the Void, where I like Kullervo in more open rooms, that connect, even if they have verticality aspects (a lot of Grineer tile sets). Anyway, that means I need my own different comparisons to use. What Happens When They Drink Dagath: Has no face. Most liquids will pass through and fall out the back of her head. If not careful will end up with a wet back, wet pants etc. Though, technically, with no face, could also pour drinks from back to front, and hunch over slightly, where they will just pour on to the ground. General conclusion. Can't drink well, whether for celebration, casually or comfort, except potentially intravenously. Kullervo: Has many many holes in body, via deep stab wounds. Located around different areas of the body, when liquids are consumed, which unlike above, they initially can be, they are processed somewhat commonly. At first. After the general throat area, liquids are then pressurised and ejected from the several different stab wounds inflicted upon Kullervo. Creating a somewhat fountainous effect, as water sprays from various knife wounds, in a cascading fashion. General conclusions. Can't drink well, but better than Dagath. May be able to at least savour the taste and flavour of various liquids, but will struggle to get truely drunk, in any regular capacity. Clothing will also get wet/spoiled, as no amount of bodily positioning will assist in avoiding this issue. Equestrian Potential Dagath: Has a horse. However its dead. Does require energy to appear. Appears as a ghost and goes on a killing rampage. Despite being the commonly preconceived favourite for this comparison, most Equestrian Sports Organisations, Committees and Foundations actually, really don't like it when their competitors show up with dead horses that they attempt to ride in front of other people. Dagath's unwillingness to ride living, breathing, horses, hampers her potential greatly. Kullervo: Has no horse. However has a teleport. Has many many knives, that possess a degree of mid air control that is considered superhuman. Is a bit of an arts and crafts connoisseur. Can create fairly convincing art constructs resembling the object his mind dedicates towards. With a bit of cardboard, glue, paint, human hair, felt, can create a fairly realistic horse imitation. Can use his hidden knives under the construct to make the cardboard horse seem more alive and simulate movement. A puppet if you will, or more aptly, a trojan Horse. With the ability to teleport, and a telekinetically obedient cardboard horse, will take the Equestrian world by storm, and go down as one of its greatest talents. Concluson? Citrine wins.
  4. LR should be locked behind nipple size. Hi, I'm a big nipple OG LR5 Veteran. There is an influx of small nipple players being boosted. Small nipple players don't have the nips for what the game is about anymore. That just don't know what to do, and guides and practice won't help them. Please look at this BECKY/REBECCA. (this is super abnormal and not right). I understand that Warframe needs players of various nipple size, but that is not fair for those with big nipples who hard cary the game in PUBS, and people with small nipples are leeches and a drain to the society and the community and need to be Bane. They also lack in skill so much, I can't tell them from the people who no nipples at all, and its impossibal (be honest). Also check your community on NSFWarframe, so many players boosting on pay sites. I could report them, but... It took us centuries to get to lvl 1, 2, 3, and people get there quicky skip now, when, they ever really did they get us here now, game for them? The numbers don't lie, and they spell disaster for Umbra at Sackerifice.
  5. It is obvious to me, but whats also obvious to me, is that many players don't necessarily read the Warframe forums every thread with their utmost focus and concentration. Which means it can be easy for them to see Grendel mentioned a few times, and overlook that later OP talks about using Inaros as well. Whats obvious to some, isn't always obvious to others. So sometimes people just need context, like saying "Yes, OP mentioned Grendel, but later on their post they talk about Inaros, therefore" and so on. If you just tell them something isn't relevant, they might not necessarily have that context.
  6. Got to merge 4 regular Shards with 4 built Umbra Forma, 4 Aura Forma, 12 Argon Crystal, and 4 Tauforged, to get 1 Tauforged of your choosing. Will cost you 95% of all your Bile resources. Total.
  7. I think what the other user is trying to imply, at least to my interpretation... Is that whilst OP did mention Grendel, they did mention their old way of playing, which was quite specific too, in eating and spitting them off edges. Which Grendel can't really do the same way since rework, depends and relies on the tile set having edges anyway. That and OP also later mentioned playing Inaros now. Not sure why they couldn't be more direct but eh. Also in fairness to you, it was another user that emphasised not needing Viral because "OP running Grendel" you recommended it originally. Probably because of its synergy with hunter munitions and slash. Hope that helps clear up stuff. In fairness to everyone, a lot of what you are all saying is pretty accurate, just depends on what OP actually ends up using and running and that sort of context. Which changes. Which is why OP would benefit a lot from building up their own knowledge of various interactions and being able to theory craft a bit more. Like they are in the process of improving, in one month they may not be playing either Grendel or Inaros, they might be playing a Nourish Styanax, that they find far far tankier, because despite not having the health stats of Inaros, is able to replenish Overguard and shield gate etc but those being things OP may not be familiar with. Then they might be running a beam incarnon, which shares a lot of the advice that would be towards Ignis Wraith. OP having the knowledge to then know how their builds on weapons may change depending on the synergy with an ability, will help so much. Though certain weapons and Warframe can brute force a bit more, such knowledge tends to benefit weaker set ups (which OP seems more interested in, hence they can either invest in gaining such knowledge, if they want to avoid going with the top meta picks, or, temporarily use them in the mean time, to progress whilst building up new knowledge and understanding.)
  8. If I recall correctly, usually around the first or second Devstream of the year, as Reb likes to talk about them and give some extra context. As far as predictions. Eh, I am not that good at intuitively understanding what most other players find popular. Forums and the like, maybe, but Forums aren't always a ood representation of far larger trends. That being said, I can make a few bland predictions at the least, like Wukong may drop a bit in usage, and I can see Revenant being boosted a lot more, Archon Hunts and more content where Perma Death is a thing, make him quite appealing to many. Wisp whilst overall probably seeing usage, will now be a bit split between regular and Prime. Similar effect with Grendel, on a lesser scale. Prime will see decently higher numbers than regular, than has been the past. Easier to acquire, being a Prime. Though was still released a lot later too. Not sure who will be top. Excalibur (and Volt) will be high as always, i imagine Mesa and Saryn will be up there. I think some of the new Warframe like Citrine will be relatively higher than last years new Warframes. Weapon wise, that will be interesting. Primary. I think the big AOE weapons of the past will dip, hit by the ammo nerfs. Incarnons will also be interesting to see. Very powerful and popular, but... the requirements to get them. Some are also available for Plat. Will they have a larger usage for that reason? Or do a lot of the Warframe player base engage with Steel Path Circuit, at least a little, to get such items? I can see the Incarnon weapons having usage boosts, Torid, Miter, Latron. Burston, Strun, Boar, I think too. I think Fulmin Prime will be decent. Sort of interested to see where Felarx and Kuva Hek fall. Not expecting super high, but curious. Nataruk and Tenet Arca Plasma I see being generally high as usual. Secondaries. Similar to Primary, weapons like Lex Prime, Dual Toxocyst on the rise. Epitaph, Laetum, Kuva Nukor being still popular. Oh and Atomos as well. Lex and Atomos were already decently high anyway, so may be boosted by Incarnon hype. Book I can see being popular in the future, but it was only just released, so won't have that much impact yet. Melee. I can see Ceramic Dagger getting a boost, but Xoris, Glaive Prime, Broken War still being pretty high. Other Incarnons being more used, just not necessarily as much as certain gun Incarnons, and more inline with their existing popularity, save those with unique properties, like the Ceramic. Melee Arcanes, TennoKai, whilst I think will have an influence, again, its recency is too late to have too much influence on such stats yet.
  9. Its an interesting question. Though its also the type that tends to result in more questions than answers as the answers raise more questions. That, and we haven't necessarily been given the context to our wealth or power as individuals or as a potential faction. As far as canonically. Like are we talking one Tenno, or multiple? How many? What is game mechanic and what is story? How many times has Profit Taker been defeated actually? Some players can beat it in less than 3 minutes, over and over. Is that accurate? There are also social and political factors to consider. Many people struggling are born into systems with attachments, familial, social, and with biases, preconceptions, illusions. Situation can be bad, but it can take time and experience to realise how bad... and many people have agency they wish to express, and people and things they care for, they are in it together with. The idea that the situation can improve, if they have hope. A saviour figure coming along with wealth and power can be nice... but they might also be suspicious, you may not necessarily be able to trust them, what are their motives, and importantly? What about other considerations and consequences, as far as how they interact with other larger powerful entities, such as ruling classes who hold together institutions and infrastructure you may not necessarily agree with, but are born in, and live in. Tenno actions may draw attention and conflict to many who are ill equipped to deal with it and do not want it. Also why throw such resources at an individual, as opposed to changing and improving the infrastructure and upper management. Also, that in itself carries quite a lot of weight. Are we implementing and essentially endorsing might is right? Or are we evening the playing field? The more questions we ask, the more questions are raised. To lean on real life a little though, world hunger, starvation is a real issue. For some more than others. The problems and solutions are less about lack of food resources, but more political and social, to do with infrastructure, transport, ideologies, misconceptions, and tied together with some other overlapping issues. Wealth and power can have roles to play, and often do, but its not one sided, since there are some that benefit disproportionately from different angles. To go back to the question, do the Tenno just force issues with wealth and power, or try to use multiple tactics. Does the Tenno even have the understanding and capacity to undertake such tactics and strategies. Who is the Tenno? Are they more of a blank vague self insert taking the lead from older characters around them, and prioritising more obvious, distinct threats, of a physical nature and leaving such issues to others? Warframe is generally more of a light action space fantasy RPG, addressing various sci fi ideas and themes, to get too political or nitty gritty with world building and lore. Certain topics may never be addressed on that level and their may not even be too much thought given to them creatively, either outside player speculation.
  10. The most significant change, is that there is no longer any permanent death for companions. Sentinel types will enter a dormant state and repair after a set period, and Pets will revive after a certain set period. I think off memory the default is like 60 seconds, but certain mods, and other variables can shorten that timer. There are some other details. Like a bunch of new mods, with various interesting effects. There... are a lot of them, which videos did you watch? They may be too complex with their details, but I would recommend AznvasionsPlays and the Kengineer on Youtube for some really good builds/Companion set ups. There are some new Kavat and Kubrow comestics in the current Nightwave, which is still quite new, so you will probably be able to get them, even if you go at a slow pace. One will make your Kubrow look like Frost and the other will make it look like Ember (well their Deluxe skins anyway). Nice! I am a bit similar. Warframe continued to add a lot of new Deluxe skins, cosmetics, accessories, etc. Oh, something new, is Voidshell skins. Several Warframe have skins, which let you change the textures on them. Not all of them have it, and most of them, the skin is closer to the default (so someone don't like that as they prefer Prime skins/Deluxe skins, but a lot of Warframes don't have Prime or Deluxe versions, and the Voidshell is great on them. War Fans also got a new Stance which is very good, (Votive Onslaught), so, some are quite strong. I think Gunsen Prime and another were added since 2020. Spearguns funnily enough, got a minor rework, but I heard... mixed results, apparently not all were fans. There is this one user that writes really detailed write ups on spearguns, and a few others who are far more knowledgable. There was a new Speargun that was added, Afentis but I personally do not like it. Oh, The Ferrox got a Tenet version though, that Speargun I do enjoy... You might want to look into that. Since you can get it with more capacity, and an extra free element too. Same. I like it, and I can kill enemies on Steel Path with it decently well and easy, so... Still need some of the new Tome mods though. Uhh. Thats a bit of a spoiler for the New War. There is a reason though. If you are still interested, I can write up a post using the spoiler format. You can probably still use them to decent effect. There is a lot more that you might want to acquire, if you want more options though and specifically more power. Like a lot of weapon Arcanes, even made mandatory mods like Serration and Hornet Strike, optional. Crazy right? There are new ways to regain or manage energy, Shards even have a category for increasing casting speed. Again, a lot of your old set ups should work alright, but if you want more power, and options, there is definitely more to collect as well. Galvanised Mods, Gun Arcanes, Helminth, Archon Shards. Oh, many Warframe augments got minor buffs too, and many were also added whilst you were away. Like if you like Wisp? She got one, where she will cast all three of her Motes at once, instead of one at a time. Oh and Operators got buffs as well, some of them, at default are as tanky as some Warframes. Like they have shields now too, plus you can get an extra Arcane slot for your amp... Let me know if you have more questions and a spoiler explanation on that topic above. Good day to you!
  11. Hello. There should be an option in your Arsenal, with your tool wheel, to put Kaithe in there. Its similar to Archwings, K-Drives etc in that it needs to be equipped in such a slot. Then in the areas you can summon it, you select it from your gear wheel. Also, to be clear, since you mentioned your playtime, did you start with Duviri early on? If yes, Kaithes outside Duviri, can only be used in certain locations, like the open worlds, Plains of Eidolon etc.
  12. Hmm. Let me wish. 1. Infested Liches. We sort of already know they are coming, but I specifically wish they incorporate some of Incarnon systems, and spend some time making the aesthetics really cool. Like, I get that Infested in Warframe has a certain style, but I hope we can sort of get them like how Nidus/Nidus Prime works, with visual evolving. Plus it fits the theme of Infestation mutating, evolving, adapting etc. Then I imagine you can tie in Infested Railjack here too. 2. More pity systems. Like for a lot of things that involve heavy RNG. Ways to get Warframes, ways to get Lich Ephemera, ways to get Shards. Especially for anything that might be time gated pr gated behind some other mechanic. 3. Way to let us see or sort how many Arcanes we have, in Arcane shop menus, to assist in our purchases without having to double check other screens. 4. More Incarnons, especially wishing for Tigris Incarnon, Sybaris, Daikyu, and some sort of Sniper, plus other lesser more unique weapons. Oh, and a few more Kuva and Tenet weapons would be most welcome, like a Kuva Sobek, Tenet Stahlta, Tenet Opticor, etc. 5. Zariman and Whispers new modes having Relic versions. So we can crack open Relics in those missions. Love the tile sets, love some of those new modes, would love to open up Relics in them, as a way to revisit and frequent them. Flood, Alchemy, Exterminate, Cascade especially. 6. Another Necramech could be really nice. 7. Some way to revisit certain older past events, content, lore etc 8. Getting Voidshell tech... for Primes, Deluxes etc I do like Voidshell, but having them be separated/regulated to base forms is a bit... 9. A new two handed Nikana stance (plus a few others like Ghoul Saw, but my biggest wish is for the Nikana). 10. 3rd Orb Mother.
  13. Its a known issue that they will look to fix eventually. It might just be a bit slow, because its Holiday season (Source, the Known Issues thread in the Whispers Bug section). Its pretty annoying in the mean time, yeah.
  14. Welcome back. A considerable amount has been added to the game. Though, whether what you missed was substantial, important or of interest may depend greatly on what you enjoy, prefer and so on. Threads like this occur semi regularly, and often peoples responses are just them telling you vaguely how they feel about the game, from their own very individualistic perspective. Which could be helpful if the person and OP are very similar, but also a bit odd, if person and OP are very different in that regard. 2020 was a bit of a slow year as you might remember parts of, and in comparison, since then, updates started to come a bit more frequently. There were also significant leaderships changes behind Warframe creative. There have been several cinematic quest updates, including the New War. There have been smaller cinematic updates, but many of them, came with new gameplay elements. Like Angels of Zariman gave us some new lore and advanced the story a little, but it also added new tile sets, game modes (Void Flood, Void Cascade, etc), enemies, mini bosses (Void Angels). There was also a Focus School rework, Companion rework (with more to come). Several older systems got reworks, updates so on. Like Railjack? Corpus Railjack was added, and you can now have your own AI Crew. Meaning, its easier to solo, and let your AI Crew do a lot of the stuff you may not want to (like Repairing or Crafting Resources, being a side gunner). Kuva Liches? Had a few new weapons (Kuva Hek was my fav), and QOL, like pity system for weapons, and ways to speed up the process. Sisters of Parvos were added as well, basically Corpus Liches, with an assortment of new weapons and Ephemera and Robot Hound Companions. If you just generally like collecting stuff, a whole lot of Mods, Arcanes, weapons, were added over the years. Arcanes specifically just for your guns, not just Warframes, and even recently Melee. A new system and category of weapons were added with Angels of Zariman, Incarnons and they were expanded upon as well. You might see them mentioned a lot by other players if/when you return, because they are quite powerful, quite fun and many are in the meta. Some Incarnons are brand new original weapons, others essentially augment some older weapons, that may have fallen behind, but are now ironically meta again (Braton, Burston, Miter, Boar, Lex, Vasto, etc) You already know about Wisp Prime, so you might already guess Khora also got Primed, as well as Grendel. Also Protea will be likely primed within the year, Gauss Prime is next. Some players, especially older players can be a bit cynical and negative on newer Warframes, if they are the type to prefer the older ones, but I think the most recent Warframes, especially those released this year have been great. Some are Support styled (Citrine), some open up new melee possibilities, (Kullervo), some have Horses and thick thighs, (Dagath). A few older Warframes have gotten reworks, (Zephyr, Grendel, Hydroid) and the meta often shifts about anyway. Like Frost was in a weakish place, but then changes were made to our Warframes armour stripping, to make it easier to strip armour in certain situations, which was an indirect buff, and then later changes were made to Cold status overall, so another indirect buff. That can happen to a few different Warframes, especially when new Arcanes, Mods, are added, Helminth possibilities too. Duviri update was a bit polarising as far as forum feedback, but in polls/surveys it seems generally popular. Duviri was also a big update, so generalising it is a bit.. Understandable for people to potentially have mixed views. Plus again, depends a lot on your preferences, habits, play style. Like there is the Duviri story, and a certain characters gameplay and combat, and then stuff like the Circuit, which is more Warframe based... New update (Whispers in the Wall) is also pretty massive as well, also new tile sets, new game modes, advances plot/story a bit, new stuff to collect. One thing about Warframe, is that it has just added a lot. Meaning, if you aren't a fan, of everything being added, more of that isn't necessarily a good or bad thing, but if you are a fan and enjoying it? You get to eat rich. Oh and if you like Melee? Well that just got a new system as well, Tennokai, new Arcanes too, new possibilities and potential. New tougher missions were also generally added, Archon Hunts have been here a while, they are sort of like weekly Sorties. New Netracell missions, which you can do 5 a week, are a bit similar. If anything above piques your interest, or you have other general questions, feel free to ask away! Good luck on the account merge too!
  15. If you didn't know, there is an Air Support, Orokin Eye. You get it from the Parallax Landing Craft from the Zariman. Orokin Eye, you can deploy it and it will mark certain objects for you. Curia, missing Somachords etc within a set radius (Zariman Plumes as well, and even the new tile sets Loca drops). I do mention it here though, because it will also mark the Orokin Vault door too. So if that makes those missions easier for you... The range is pretty big, it won't always mark the door though, if its outside the range, but in my experience, the success rate is over 50% and it doesn't really hurt to take it with you. Glad to hear you are making solid progress as well.
  16. Nice! About trying out Steel Path. Earth as the starting point can be a bit rough, because Grineer and their armour values. Hope you already know you can also do the daily Incursions for extra steel Essence, and to skip around the star chart map a little (when you unlock a node from an Incursion, you can use that as a point to go to other nodes near it). True, about builds and polarisations. In general, Madurai (in the Forma, Polarisation context) aka the Y's are pretty good. It covers Multishot (Galvanised Chamber), Vital Sense, Banes/Serration, Hunter Munitions/Internal Bleeding, 60/60's etc. Space can get a little tight though, especially if you end up with a Riven. Oh, can actually also be a decent strategy to not max out mods as well (Personally a lot of my Primed mods, like Primed Bane, Primed Cryo, aren't actually maxed out... they are a few levels short. This way they can fit on more builds, especially some of the weaker weapons I don't really want to Forma a lot. Plus can save you a lot of Endo and Credits until you are swimming in them. Plus a lot of weapons don't even really need them maxxed out either). Cheers.
  17. Not really, beside from what you know already, as far as doing an exhaustive search... As already mentioned, they do glow, make a sound, and you can sort of develop a certain intuition for some. Like a lot tend to be in high places. So sometimes, if you are running or flying around, you can look at something up high and think... "I wonder..." and find one. Another potential tip of sorts, is that they are all numbered, plus have a letter assigned. They are also region based too, so if you visit Acrithis in your Zariman suite, the console that talks about each fragment, you could sort of see what areas are incomplete or complete, and then potentially use that to know what areas need more searching. Also, depending on your intuition, and creativity, you may also have luck finding them, by thinking what places might be annoying or counter intuitive to check and find one... I have found some that way too, seeing something a bit odd and thinking "would be annoying trying to get there to put one... so someone probably put one there...". I also ended up using a guide eventually anyway, because I was satisfied having found most of them, around 80% - 85%, maybe a bit more, and some were in areas, I doubt my eyes or ears would have registered, and I was getting more interested in reading the lore entries. There are some good guides out there, fortunately.
  18. The later build generally. Especially if you intend to swap around the Faction mode for whatever faction you are going to face, or with Serration until you acquire Primary Deadhead or Merciless Arcanes. Just in general too, nothing wrong with attempting a few solo Steel Path missions, and seeing the results of your builds first hand as well, and then making modifications. Like taking your first build into a Rescue or Capture and seeing how it deals with enemies, then taking your second in to see whether it does better, then doing a bit of swapping around to see how that changes things. The comparisons don't even necessarily have to get that complicated, most of the time, you can feel an intuitively difference as well, and thats important too. You can figure out how often you really use both modes of the Fulmin as well. Personally, in Steel Path? I just prefer the semi/shotgun mode too much, and use it far more, so in that case Internal Bleeding is better for my build, but you seem to like both? So Hunter Munitions is a better call. Experiencing the differences in set ups will often help you understand certain systems in Warframe, like how it calculates damage and why certain combinations of mods (Serration and Heavy Caliber for example) aren't anyway as good as they might suggest. When and why 60/60's may be better higher percent elementals and vice versa. Good luck and hope you enjoy Steel Path. For some, it can be frustrating at first, but it can also be very satisfying and greatly improve your knowledge and understanding of the game, and increase your skill as well. It made me a much better player in general.
  19. My apologies in advance if you already know this... just based on your wording and asking if you need to be Operator to collect them... You physically need to get close to the "eyes", "symbols" that appear. So to quickly go over the mission, you find Atropos Probes (marked as a yellow box on mini map), which directs you to a yellow mission objective point, where you can insert it into a Vitreum scanner. Small countdown then the Eyes appear. Then you have to physically jump into or "grab" them by getting as close to them as you can. You can do this with your Operator but you can also do this with your Warframe. So whatever you find easiest. The blue eye icons, you just need to pass through, the red ones, mean the eye is blocked by an enemy limb (known as a Hurling Fragments) but you can destroy them to get access to the eye. Killing enemies in the objective zone will speed up the timer. If you are having trouble with parkour, you could try Warframes with extra mobility. Or if you find moving with your Operator better them. Wukong might be able to pick them with his Cloudwalker ability. Zephyr floats a bit more. Also, practice just generally helps. After you have done a few, you start to notice where they will spawn around the tile set. It can be a bit of a slow mission. Also try not to kill enemies out of the zone, and always be careful to make sure that enemies aren't blocking the device either. You will see an onscreen message. That might be why your mission took so long, because it will pause the timer making getting the eyes unavailable until the offending enemy is dealt with. Good luck!
  20. All good. A lot of the Warframe Community are a friendly bunch, who have similar experiences when starting new. The game has a lot of stuff going on, and doesn't always give the best explanations or progression tips. So often the community does its best to try help out with any questions new people have. The issue you are describing with ranking mods, is very real yeah. You need Credits, and you need Endo, and their are so many mods... My recommendation? Its not a bad thing to rely on consistent, reliable gear, like Rhino. The beauty about Warframe, is that you will always have options. The other thing about Warframe? Is that the longer you play, the easier it gets too. Generally speaking, one good strategy, is to keep progressing planet to planet, throughout the star chart and doing any story or plot quests as they turn up. Most planets usually have a Warframe you can farm as well, and do you know what Nightwave is? You could use something like Nightwave to hopefully get some freebies, like free slots for weapons and Warframes. Whilst you never want to just use only one Warframe once you have mastered it, its okay to stay on that one Warframe, if it helps you acquire more resources in the mean time, then using those resources to help build other weapons, Warframes, get mods, so on. There are many many different ways to progress in that sense, so it can really depend on your preferences. One general tip, is to know what weapons you want to definitely keep, and which may be disposable for certain reasons. For example, all the MK 1 weapons? Can be brought for Credits, mastered and discarded, because they have direct upgrades, that you can get later on. So having enough weapon slots to have weapons you want to keep, but a few so you can rotate in weapons, like the MK1 Braton? Master it, then selling it (you keep the slot), and then you can put another weapon their temporarily, master it, and discard it. Thus you build up your MR level slowly. Rhino is generally speaking one of the best beginner friendly Warframes, because he is tanky, doesn't need a lot of energy, and is good for most situations. He is reliable and consistent. Eventually you will get to a point though, where you will have ways to just have more of everything, including Warframes, so there is no need to rush, unless... of course the prospect of testing out new things sounds great, which to many, myself included, it did, so I think around the time I completed the star chart, I had around 6 or 7 Warframes. Excalibur was my first, then Rhino, then I think Nova, then Ember, then Mag, then I think Frost... Mesa was the Warframe I wanted to play the most, but she was near the end of the Star chart. My main point though, is everyones journey will be a little different. I know many people who just have one Warframe the entire star chart and they don't bother with getting new Warframes until after that point (and to be clear, Warframe is huge, there is way more stuff to do after the star chart, new story quests, new areas, new game modes, Relics to get Prime versions, Arbitrations, Steel Path, new systems to learn and... there is a lot). Steel Path is one of those things you could probably forget about and come back to in a few months, to be honest. There is a lot more other stuff you probably want to attempt and know first. I only brought it up prior because you might be surprised that Warframe that may seem weak where you are, can actually be super powerful, once you get the right builds going. That even the games tougher modes will feel easy. Rhino of course remains as consistent and stable, but a lot of other Warframes shine later too. Oh and are you in a clan? Nezha is actually a pretty easy to acquire Warframe, from clan dojos, thats very similar to Rhino, as far as low energy needs, being tanky when you press a button, so on. Could be a good choice. Keep Gyre though too, she really is good, as other peoples tips have mentioned. Also if you aren't in a clan, consider it. Lots of advantages. Probably some people at this site that would be very welcoming and friendly to players in your position.
  21. Personally? Not yet, not with their current selection of weapons. However... if I had Tennogen or just skins I preferred over the design that default appearance they took on, I'd probably be a bit bothered. I'd probably still use the Incarnon and weapon if I really enjoyed it, otherwise, but it could be a deal breaker on certain weapons. For example, I would probably use certain Kitguns and Zaws more if I could improve their fashion. Likewise certain Heavy Blades, I prefer some of the Tennogen I have for them, but with outs, I may still like the default, and would be stoked if they did get an Incarnon. Either way, regardless of how I personally feel, including liking the new designs/aesthetic that get added via the Incarnon mode, I hope its something DE looks into and attempts to modify, if they can, as its one of those things I know is important to people and generally speaking, if people pay Plat for stuff, they should be able to use it, without it being overridden.
  22. Hello there! Glad to see you are enjoying the game. So first of, the thing I want to avoid doing is discouraging you from playing Gyre. She is actually quite strong, however... in Warframe, there are a lot of Warframes, and each can be quite different, depending on other factors. For example, I would say Gyre and Rhino are quite different in strengths, weaknesses and how you might play them. I have been playing Warframe for a long long time, so by the time I acquired Gyre? I was already at end game, with most of the mods, Arcanes, and knowledge to implement into them. I actually think Gyre is probably stronger and more powerful... in harder content, which may sound weird, but she is sort of needs to build up momentum and carry it. Like Gyre can have her abilities crit, but you need to inflict electric status, so you need to spam your abilities a lot, which means you need to have a good energy economy, and the more enemies around the better, since you can use them as a resource and fuel, and you end up killing them so fast anyway... Except if you are still progressing through the star chart, you may not have every single mod or Arcane that would make your life that easy right? Where as Rhino, you can put together a decent and solid build typically. A bit of health, duration, range, strength. You don't really have to min/max. You don't need to spam abilities, you are also quite tanky as well. So they are very different stylistically. If that makes sense? Again though Gyre is great, powerful and can be a lot of fun, but without certain tools, she might feel a bit underwhelming. You may have to progress a bit before you feel like she shines. In the mean time, I would recommend trying to get her Augment Cathode Current. ideally you always want your 3 and 4 ability on. I would also recommend building for Range. If you find you can't keep her 3 and 4 active, then try some Duration mods, and if you struggle with energy, try some Efficiency, like Streamline. A decent basic gameplay loop, is to get enough energy to be able to cast your abilities, get your 3 and 4 active, then use your 2 to CC and group enemies, then use your 1 to electrify them. The more enemies you can group and electrify, the more you build your crit for abilities (which is one of her more unique characteristics), but the more the enemies should die, giving your more energy, so you can cast your abilities more, extending the timer on your 3 and 4, and letting you spam your other abilities. Sometimes their may not be enough enemies around to sustain that though too either. Though, again, if you are going from Rhino to Gyre it might seem like a very different experience, which in many ways is a good thing. Just it can come with some challenges too. I have to remind myself to be careful with my advice as well, because like I said, when I got Gyre, I was in endgame at that time. I had access to pretty much every Mod, and Arcane in the game, and some other tools you might not have access to, so I didn't really have to worry about energy, I could go full in on range, I knew which were the best guns to pair with her, and so on. I don't know what its like to play Gyre before getting to Steel Path. So its also totally okay to putting off using her for a little while too. When I went through the star chart, I personally thought Mag was weak. In the end though, she is one of my most used Warframes, and the one I consider the strongest out of the beginners. At leat for endgame. Some Warframe need more specialised tools and mods, Arcanes, Augments and practice before they really shine, and some are good all round types that can carry you with less effort/work. Sorry thats a bit long, but hope that helped. Feel free to ask any more questions about anything and welcome to the Forums too!
  23. I had a slightly similar story with Broken War. I used mine to build War. Struggled to get its BP again. Got pretty much everything else, multiple times, including War BP's. I had already mastered and quite liked Broken War, but after I sold it, I got a really good Riven for it. Plus just generally liked it. Did eventually drop after a few years, and then once it did, I got about 4 within the same year, and still regular get it as well as the rest. The game also keeps giving me Red Tau shards, despite having a slight preference for Blue, because the builds i generally run. That always amuses me, given generally many people would prefer that arrangement. Desire sensor strikes again.
  24. Well I assume you just really really like the Ceramic Dagger too, hence your decision. Personally, I almost had Stropha perma-stuck to my loadout for a few years. I was initially going to say character, but I actually changed Warframes more than my melee slot for the longest time. I still think the Stropha has my highest percentage time equipped out of any other item, save for categories that are really small Archwings etc) That being said, a few melee changes here and there, encouraged me to branch out and experiment more. I am really enjoying a few Incarnon weapons with the Tennokai system, especially the Nami Solo, which Heavy allows movement, and works great with range too, (may nor be necessarily though), and now I am interesting in testing out various melees Heavy's, because I actually forget a lot of them. Oh and certain melee like Pennant feel great now, because its passive was that it got a speed increase based off combo, and whilst I dislike the stance, I enjoy the Heavy attack, and that thing turns blazing fast when its passive activates, but you don't lose combo now either... so with the Tennokai where you heavy a lot, great. Plus, the stance isn't that annoying when its speed is ramped up greatly as well. That being said, again, sometimes we all go through phrases where we are simply enjoying one weapon or combo way too much to care about testing and experimenting. Very valid play style.
  25. I am probably wrong, but I personally remember them being more of an end of the year thing, less a Christmas thing. Again though, its not something I was super invested in (I mean, they are cute, but i mean the timing specifically). So again, if others remember it being earlier then...
