well, my headcanon is this: Alad's did Zanuka, then became infested, then came Tubemen of Regor, then he cures himself (Alad winning is Canon on 2/3 platforms, by majority we can consider this Canon overall) and helps out in Second Dream in exchange for his "favour" which he then calls in once the Acolytes track him down and attempt to kill him. after this, by now his Infestation is gone and he's gona back to his old trcks on Jupiter, trying to make Zanuka, his main project work.

but then, Alad learns of Nef's Taxmen and their obsession with Sentient research, and wonders what he could accomplish with Sentient Tech of his own. being a Rich Corpus, he could just Buy some of the Research materials, and pay to have his labs renovated into a Sentient research facility. his main hope could be to infuse Zanuka with sentient Technology, creating a Corpus/Sentient/Warframe hybrid that could potentially be as advanced and powerful as anything Orokin made: Orokin Tech is still the pinnacle of design in the Warframe universe: nothing else compares to it, and as a direct descendant of the Orokin himself, Alad likely seems to want to ascend to their level of advancement.

it could also be that maybe he decides to scrap the Zanuka Project in favour of Project Amalgam, focusing entirely on Corpus/Sentient Hybrids and selling them to other Corpus across the system for Profit. what isn't clear is why Alad wanted to capture the Wolf specifically... hopefully that will be explained later on.

And after Second Dream, Lua is a battlefield. The Corpus might be getting Sentient drones from there for research. At least the ones that appear there. They have capturing devices now.

Edit: And the dead Sentient on Jupiter lower atmosphere.

Since Alad has captured the Wolf, does that affect him appearing in missions or is he supposedly turning up more and more?

Well, now he's actually hunting us. So...

When new players sees the new gas city, they will be confused as heck. Everyone in the origin system never knew about the sentients before the Natah quest. So the new gas city must not be available to new players. I would say the prerequisite is The Second Dream or The Sacrifice, I would choose The Sacrifice because after that quest Sentient Fighters forces are getting larger and larger and judging by the nightwave episode it seems the timeline is post-Sacrifice.

I'm probably throwing this out of left field but... I'm sure Sargas Ruk will come in the picture. Why? Cause we need round two of Sargas Ruk vs Alad V.

Alad V and the Wolf of Saturn Six seems to have something going on. Sargus Ruk, I assume, is in charge of the operations going on on Saturn. So I'm hoping Ruk will come out of no where and get involved.

Every other reference to Orokin "nationality" that we got was strictly genealogical: "Natah, you trust this Orokin blood who would chisel weapons from our bones?" (Hunhow), "I swear by my Orokin blood" (Elder Queen/Maggot/whatever she's called).

Hunhow also says "Keep talking, Orokin-called Alad V, your silence soon comes". Hinting that Alad V is not necessarily Orokin himself, but he at least had ties with the Orokin Society, I guess, Alad V being not his name but a "nickname" given by them.

DE isn't gonna lock an entire planet behind the Sacrifice. And it's not like they care about when new players find out about the Sentients or else they'd have kept new payers away from PoE.

What I mean is only the remastered tileset will be locked, when new players haven’t finished the sacrifice it will use the old tileset for Jupiter.

Zanuka and Alad being on Jupiter now, after everithing else has happened, has nothing to do with the canon though. They're there purely for the gameplay purposes.

Similar to Captain Vor still being on Mercury after he was cut in half, destroyed, but through its Janus Key, the Void called to him. It brought him there and there he was reborn. Now he is changed, reborn through the energy of the Janus Key. Forever bound to the Void.  He will teach the trespassers the redemptive power of his Janus key. The Tenno are lost, and they will resist. But he, Vor, will cleanse that place of their impurity.

bruh, he already had almost all of his infestation cured in second dream, only thing left was the purple scar but I mean, if he could fix his arms and legs which were pretty much rotten infested flesh, twised and full of sports, he can fix a lil scar.

Also, the Wolf of Saturn Six is occurring right now, why would Nora be talking about something that happened in the past? There's no indication of past tense in Nora's "story-telling" either.

Because if you think about it you will notice that it is happening for EVERYONE, newbies are also getting this story, so it means it is pre-mutalist Alad V, the story is all over the place for late game players because we are getting content that shows up soon enough in the story or that is misaligned.

Like for example : We do Second Dream whit a cured Alad V, but we only unlock the Mutalist Alad V battle later, which makes no sense.

Alright, I've seen this topic bought up way too much and I can understand why new players (mostly) and some Vets are a bit confused in what is going on with the Lore right now, so allow me to explain.

  • Alad V was once a member of the Corpus Board of Directors and the head of Grineer Relations. In spite of his position, Alad showed a particular contempt towards the Grineer (whom he refers to as 'dogs') and to a lesser extent, the Tenno. Over the course of his career, Alad would develop an obsession with the Tenno, believing that he could harness their power for his own benefit. This resulted in the Zanuka Project,

  • The  Zanuka Project was a Corpus endeavour led by Alad V. The main goal was to graft Warframe abilities to Corpus proxies to serve as bargaining chips during business negotiations with the Grineer, but only core parts where not allowed to be used in Business, as Alad V only wishes to get anything he wants for his own Gian, this resulted in the Warframe's Tormented past, Valkyr, who was subject to cruel experiments, leaving her scarred, angry and frighteningly adept at killing. It is possible that she suffered other activities given the Alt-Helmet.

  • Although he was able to construct a working Zanuka prototype by the time he was found, the Tenno defeated him and rescued the Warframe from his clutches. Despite this, Alad continues to work on the Project and occasionally sends out Zanuka Hunters to search for more "donors", Alad V was then assumed "Killed" by a Mag Warframe, but this was not the case, Alad V survived his fall and went dark in the system, not to return for some time.

  • After a long period of inactivity, the Lotus discovered several Corpus ships that were travelling well outside usual shipping routes. These ships were heavily armoured and used several measures to keep themselves hidden from prying eyes. Suspicious about their purpose, the Lotus sent the Tenno to investigate these ships and their mysterious cargo. The Tenno soon found out that the Ships where carrying samples of Infested tissue, that resulted in a containment breach and his ships had been overrun with the Infested. Alad V knew that the Corpus Board disliked the Infested and banned any research on them, Alad V ignored their demands.

  • Not long after, The Lotus learned that Alad's experiments had allowed the Infestation to evolve, allowing it to infect and corrupt inorganic beings. Lotus also discovered that Alad had also developed Infested Hives as a means of directing the spread of the Infested; these hives could corrupt new ships or colonies almost immediately. The new Infested breed that we now know as Mutalist was born, thanks to Alad V. The Infested where now much stronger thanks to this.

  • In the end, The Tenno was tasked to purge them with the help of the Corpus and the Grineer. Although the valiant and combined effort of the three factions quickly pushed the Mutalist Infestation back to Eris, they ultimately failed to fully exterminate the new breeds, which remained a permanent threat to the system and now are still a threat, even Today, due to this fallback, Alad V allowed himself to be hybridized himself with Infested tissue, that resulted in him become "Mutalist Alad V", after the fight, it was once more assumed he was killed, but given the nature of the Infection, it was more than likely, he was restored by the Infested or survived his wounds.

  • After a long period of inactivity, it was revealed that a Grineer researcher "Tyl Regor" had attracted Alad's attention. Alad, regretting his involvement with the Infestation, sent a message to the Lotus, asking for the Tenno to obtain samples of Tyl Regor's research before sabotaging his labs in the hopes of finding a cure for himself, however, the Corpus aristocrat Nef Anyo, saw this plea to the Lotus as a threat to his new position on the Corpus Board and immediately broadcast his alternate proposition for the Tenno: to destroy Tyl Regor's lab outright, and prevent Alad V from possibly developing a cure for himself.

  • In the end, after some Tenno fighted each side, even each other, However, The Tenno who helped Alad V resulted in victory and Alad V was cured of the Infection, but only just, he still bears the Scars of his mistakes.  After, Alad V once more went dark and was never seen until the Tenno woke up, for the first time.

  • Alad V, whose Infestation had significantly receded compared to his last encounter with the Tenno, offered his assistance in locating the Sentient Hunhow's remains, in exchange for a future "favour", At the end of the Second Dream, Hunhow was able to track down Alad V and mistaken him to be still Orokin and sent his Fragments after him, too distracted by the possible fate of death, The Tenno where unable to help him, However, he was able to flee.

  • After some time and the Tenno understanding their true power and who they really where, Alad V called the Tenno back in the favour for his "Favor" he obtained during The Second Dream, A deal was a deal and Alad requests the Tenno's assistance in locating and hunting down the new Stalker like beings known as "Acolytes" who where deployed to hunt him down. He instructs the Tenno to break into Corpus and Grineer systems to collect security data, and from there uses said data to locate the Acolytes for the Tenno to hunt down. In the end, The Tenno once more saved Alad V and assumed that this was enough for him to be a possible Ally.

  • Today: Alad V has returned back to the Origin System and after the attack by Hunhow and learning the Truth of the Tenno and knowing the risks of the Infested, moved on from testing and provoking the Tenno and Infested, as it's likely, he will not be lucky a second time, It's likely he stopped bothering the Tenno, due to their sorrow and anger from Natah's betrayal. However, it's likely seeing the Sentients in battle and how strong they where in the past and how even the Tenno struggled to fight them, the first time, He became interested in them, it's likely that Alad V, melding with Technology that killed an Empire and almost killed the Tenno, was seen as possible new way of destroying the Tenno by the Corpus Boards, "The Enemy of my enemy is my friend". After all, Corpus Technology is alone strong enough on its own and the Sentients have technology beyond anyone in the System. A Hybrid that can possibly kill the Tenno once and for all.

And that's it. That is his Lore. It's likely that the "Scar" on his face, was likely a mistake on DE's side (given the cutscene has a few bugs) or that his Scars healed, given that the Sentients are immune to the Infection, it's very likely a "Scar" of all things, can be cured.

If DE does replace the boss fight, this a mear gameplay change, however, the "Lore" and story is still there, Alad V moved on from the Tenno and Infested. An old memory for Vets and something new for New Players. But even then, the Boss Fights, after the Quest/Events are only there and won't make any sense, if Vets where locked out on the "Boss Fights" cuz the already defeated before.

Hope this clears things up.

And for them who won't wanna read: TL: DR

  • Alad V's obsession with the Tenno, believing that he could harness their power for his own benefit. This resulted in the Zanuka Project, We "Killed" him and saved Tenno Subjects.
  • Alad V moved on to the Infested, once more his obsession with believing that he could harness their power for his own benefit. This resulted in the " Mutalist Infestation"  We stopped him.
  • Alad V wanted to be cured and we did so. He also got attacked by Shadow and his Allys. We saved him that too, we're fools.
  • Now Alad V is back and bedding the Sentients. (and still an idiot)

That is because Quests/Events are not in "Order" in a list. And old Events will never come back. That's all it is, it makes perfect sense if know how to piece things together. We do not need events to come back, to tell a story. a Lore Codex In Warframe will go along way.

Not a Lore Issue, not a gameplay issue. it is a simple miss-understanding due to they are not in "neat order" for people to pick up on.

It is up to DE if they wish to make a "Lore Codex" That players can read to keep up the story timeline. But most people don't care about that, "Loot Shooter" is all they see in Warframe, hence why DE not bothered with lore that much.

All IMO

All of this Wolf of Saturn stuff is most likely just being tacked onto the time before the Tenno even reach Jupiter, if you consider the starchart progression as part of the "story". From a new player's perspective, the Wolf of Saturn Six might just be introducing Alad to them as the "spooky villain man" that they'd eventually fight on Jupiter, discovering Zanuka in the process.

In other words- No, this isn't happening after any of the quests. New updates don't have to, and additions/changes to a story are bound to happen with a game like Warframe, whose lore is already wack as f**k.

New players will not be confused at all.

They get to know about the Sentients in Cetus and in Fortuna (by raiding the closest lab).

Gas city will show the remains of their old foe's remains are being used for research and augmentation.

Natah Quest will show they are still alive.

There is no need to lock Jupiter.

Alad V should get a redemption IMO, but whatever, make a cliche disney channel villain, who just  evil because he is evil, duh.

Well, if the reason why we're heading back is to get Alad out of the Mess he made (Again...) then this just might happen.

You think he'd have learned by now. He messed with Warframe hybrids... got his ass handed to him by the Tenno. Messed with Infested Hybrids, got Mutualised. Now he's messed with Sentient Amalgams and once again gotten into trouble because they turned on him.

Also, Corpus villains being cartoon villains is a theme. Nef makes Animal robots and has a slave army and Frohd Bek stole a supercomputer from the good doctor.

If any of them get a redemption arc of any kind, I'd like it to be Alad though, partly because he's one of the most iconic Corpus villains but Nef's kind of taking over as the Go-to Corpus bad guy, so there might be some room for V.
