Game awards 2018

So I saw the nominations list for the game awards 2018 and went to the best ongoing game section. I noticed that Destiny 2 Forsaken, F0rTnUt, No man's sky, overwatch, and Rainbow Six Siege was there. See anything missing?

Game awards are total bull, don't waste your time. They put destiny 2 in ongoing game category last year. When it was just barely released.

A group of people with connections to the so-called "AAA" industry awards people from the so-called "AAA" industry. Nothing new, people patting themselves (or their close friends) on the back and call it awards. It's been happening in many industries for a very, very long time.

you know people are being paid when a game that has lost its playerbase and is free to get people to buy the dlc is on the list, honestly think about it... the game is out for a year and its been nominated for best ongoing game.... avoid the shill awards at all cost

I wouldn't even bother following that tripe. chances are i'll be Fortnite or another Battle Royale game that wins it. these awards are about praising money, not art.

Warframe doesnt make content for ongoing players, just for new players so I understand why it isnt on that list.

Besides no man sky.... Wut... That game was the definition of scummy and overhyped and still is extremely long and boring. Even with all the fixes it's still a 10 to 20 dollar game at most.

its actually simple, warframe is still a beta and not a released game like overwatch and the likes, if DE would have lost the beta tag, and still kept updating the game as often as they do currently, as well as making the game easier to understand without needing to rely on wiki and other players, they would probebly win without bothering to even make an entry.

It's not about that. The point has already been made rather clear: MONEY. We all know the awards are "political" choices and games that do not conform to the mainstream won't get as much attention. You want proof? See how much coverage Warframe gets by the video game industry and you'll notice it barely gets mentioned with a min article 1 to 3 times per year  when major updates hit. It's no coincidence and we all know it

The economic choices practiced by DE are not appreciated by the other cool kids since a relatively small studio has shown it is possible to bake high quality content and keep it completely free pleasing fans who, in turn, decide to spend money not because they HAVE TO but because they WANT TO since the game is pretty much a pearl in the mud. PUBG was nominated last year when it was still in beta.

But it's not like The Game Advertisements have any logic or consistency (aside of $$$ and corporate circle-jerk) in their nominations anyway. Fortnite being nominated for Best eSports should tell you everything you need to know about these worthless "awards."

The reason why i never followed this lame award nonsense, a collection of some of the most unoriginal games wins.

Even if they wouldn't be rigged, these lists would always be highly subjective  and skewed like most of all things that went mainstream.

I laughed when I read that ongoing list.  They all know Warframe deserves to be there.  They turn away and pretend it doesn't exist because it doesn't fit the "mainstream" mold.
