(XBOX)Ancient Mutt
I was watching something on Netflix recently about a (Korean?) company in a skyscraper who sponsored E-sports teams with full uniform and associated gear, specialised PCs with card readers for player identification, all opposite a humbler 'internet cafe' owned by a girl who used to stare up in awe at posters of their local e-sports hero... who happens to use the cafe for his own personal account and more for the story involved... (spoiler spoiler, etc). All very glorious. But is any of it inspired by true events? Is it something that actually happens? I've heard of E-sports ... but I thought they were just spotty teenagers on a couch with pizza, getting yelled at by Mom for not doing homework or chores until they do manage to win a million quid and suddenly vow they've always supported their son and their love of video games? Probably just a stereotype, I'm sure. In short... would Warframe allow an E-sports company to do some proper tournaments with style like that? ... is it already happening? Is there a skyscraper somewhere devoted to a team optimised for Warframe competitions like some sort of professional soccer or baseball team? The bigger question is.. if DE did announce an E-sports ... thing ... and companies offered actual jobs to competition winners... would you sign up to compete? Genitive
I don't think Warframe is a good game for e-sports.

I... have no idea - what would be the most appropriate? There are different game modes like Survival and Capture... maybe DE could somehow mush them all together for such a thing? Bad idea though, right? xD
DrivaMain
E-Sports are meant for PvP Games. Warframe is a PvE game, so it’s impossible to do a E-Sport tournament on a game where skill doesn’t matter.

Firetempest
That's why DE made Lunaro. Hoping it would spark something Rocket league like and would lead to a esport scenario. It didn't and was quickly forgotten. By everyone.
Methanoid
warframe has nothing it can use/turn/twist into something useable for e-sports, and lunaro (trash quality deathball) and conclave (minimum effort unreal) certainly isnt going to manage it. (PSN)robotwars7
there's another thread where Warframe is being played in this Chinese High School Drama, they're having this uber-intense e-sports type conclave match.. it's kind of hilarious really, almost like it's what De see when they see conclave, whereas we see it for what it is: a dead game mode. kinda sad when you think DE made Unreal Tournament... so it's not like they've never made PvP before, but nobody wants PvP when the rets of the game is in such a state, so Conclave will stay dead. shame because some of those skins aren't bad and Teshin could be a much more present character outside of The War Within. Oreades
So should I just take this as confirmation that more people watch Korean dramas than actually play Conclave? Cause this is like the most I've ever seen Conclave talked about outside of the occasional salty "Why don't people play Conclave?" post that pops up annually.

It's not like you can any% a game with no 100%.

H3RRD0KT0R
You can't throw warframe and esports on the same phrase. Warframe doesn't have any serious competitive content, or even anything challenging. Not to mention a part of the community is pvpphobic, and joined warframe exactly for being a co-op pve. Also esports games development usually revolves around focusing, polishing and balancing a specific content to exhaustion, which is the very opposite to how warframe constant expands into all directions (while leaving lots to be eventually fixed/improved).

UT was always Epic's brainchild, their property. DE simply assisted in making some models and maps. The core gameplay, the game engine, that was all Epic's work. Once they grew big enough, they didn't even need the help from other game studios anymore and made UT3 by themselves, which was received quite well. If you want to see DE's attempt at making pvp on their own, just look at Amazing Eternals.
Veridian
I can already see it. A survival marathon. Would be like one of those games of quiddich from Harry Potter that supposedly last 3 moths, a few people get lost in the mean time and the teams have substitutes, so those Ivaras and Octavias can stay sharp. kevoisvevo
Hahaha now that's a good joke if I have ever heard one. A game with no skill and grind walls trying to go into a skill based competitive competition. That's like oil and water.
