  1. Hello there. I am not a moderator or a developer to Warframe, but I will reply anyway, because even politely requesting that a moderator or developer address you individually isn't likely to get a response. Why? Hundreds of threads are created daily in the Forums, and their attention and duties are typically elsewhere. Yes feedback is requested and appreciated, but usually thats filtered through various people, there is a difference between an individuals feedback around a more generalised broad concept and multiple players more direct feedback about a specific gameplay element. Then a difference between taking that feedback and considering implementing it versus other considerations, or deciding that it requires a direct response from an individual. That also being said, your topic isn't exclusive to Warframe. Its a broad general issue that can apply in many situations, for many reasons and thus there are different explanations. For example, does an individuals understanding, comprehension of a subject match others. For example, I know a decent amount of science. I know a decent amount of General Relativity and Newtonian theory, so you could say I know a decent amount about gravity as a result. That being said I am no expert, and I am in no position to offer any unique expert insight or to correct or dispute the understanding and knowledge of those who have studied such subjects as careers, in all likelihood. I mean, its possible, but I shouldn't be taken seriously, unless I could legitimately interpret and understand claims they might make, address them well, and then demonstrate superior knowledge, and explanative power than them. Which wouldn't be likely unless I learned more, and I would also have to rely on the same structures they did to likely acquire such knowledge, so the idea that we might end up in opposition... So with that as an example, how many legitimately have a good understanding of the legal nature involved with agreements, terms of service and so on? For clarity though, you don't have to be an expert to have an opinion or to criticise or to have thoughts... Just it often helps to make sure you are interpreting meaning and intent correctly. This is the number one issue I personally see, when I see make certain objections about "different standards" or "inconsistencies" regarding TOS, EULA. Are you actually understanding and interpreting correctly? Then sometimes people may take that personally or as an attack, but its meant strictly neutrally and in my case, genuinely as far as helping them understand. There are many things i personally don't understand. Its not even a matter of simplicity or not, often just how much time are you willing to learn, and how neutral, observant and critically minded can you be, to reduce your own naturally biases that all people intuitively have and develop. Another explanation? Its not just Devs and players. Its also players and players. Did you know, there are technically speaking, many many different types of racial slurs, and some often get used in some peoples every day conversations. World is a big place... there are even some racial slurs that are terms of endearment, depending on which country or culture is being referenced. So how does any website or organisation that has a general rule against racial slurs, deal with that issue? Well its context and discretion. They may not have to actually have a list of banned terms, to make it black or white, but context and discretion matters. Which is something, some individuals can often have misunderstandings around or struggle quite getting. Some racial slurs are much more known in certain relevant countries than others, and have a far larger stigma and generally offensiveness to them. So naturally those terms will be treated a bit different than much more obscure, niche, terms, from smaller countries, that may also share other meanings and definitions elsewhere. For example certain fruits. Does this mean, its okay for a user to use a racial slur against another user? Well... no, but it depends. Again, context, if user A uses the term, and its made clear they are using if with hostility, disrespect and as a racial slur to attack another? User B? That would probably get them banned. However if they are talking generally about their breakfast and a fruit they have, then one could say, they are clearly not using it as a racial slur. With some words though, that idea is more scrutinised and peoples explanations of intent won't matter because the term won't have an equivalent neutral or positive meaning. So I just gave you a long explanation that touches on linguistics, culture, intent, about how similar use of terms can be treated very differently. Thing is... if every rule, guideline or TOS/Eula went into as much detail as I did? Everything would be like 10 times longer than they already are. So often, the reduce all that and lean on ideas of context and discretion more. Which they also know some people will understand better than others. Another explanation. Players can make lewd and suggestive comments all the time, but some users are more subtle and discreet about it than others. This is something else, some individuals can have great trouble with. Developer A said something that was vaguely crude and slang for something naughty 1 time... but when I say the same thing, in a different context, including being more suggestive with words like penetrate, insert, slap, gorge, drip, hundreds of times, in Chat, I, Player B, get punished? Isn't that a little hypocritical? Well, arguments can be made, as to yes or no, but it depends what variables you consider. The point though, is that this isn't a player vs dev issue, its not that simple. Developer teams also have hierarchies and orders as well. Not all players discretion, cleverness with words, subtlety, or ability to pick up on such things is as good as others. Thats actually important. Not just for understanding games and rules, but life in general. I have a friend who sucks at being subtle. They can usually pick up on lewd jokes and humour, but they can't replicate it. Another friend may be better, and say something like "Wow, Wisps assets huh? Talk about carrying a lot... you know, like carrying a term with performance" and then the other friend will be like "Aha yeah she has a big ^%^$% I wouldn't mind if she took that &^^&&^ and ^%&% on my face and %^$$^$, ^&%%& its so ^&%%&" and then he will get muted and kicked from Relay chat. Now for some people, it will be obvious why, and for some others, they will think... "but they were both talking about sexual stuff so..." and I have met people like that latter, hence why I have had to articulate so much of above before. Its not really a matter of agreeing or disagreeing, more so, this is how people are. Often how rules operate. Also, importantly discretion and context. Its possible that the first person may also get a warning, or I used grawlixes for the second user, but only to obscure some words, that without context may be acceptable elsewhere, in a different context/sentence. A lot of this is lost to some, and they just get frustrated or annoyed at what they perceived as "double standards: or similar. In short, not all examples are exactly the same, whether from a player or developer, so be weary about thinking they are, especially... If you aren't the best with discretion/context. Thats not all. Another context and variables, is why and how do such agreements and services exist in the first place. Often they touch on power dynamics between different entities, individuals, groups of people. Then structured in such ways, that depending on the situation, some people are serviced or prioritised over others. This is important to understand as far as disagreements and differences of attitudes and whose will may ultimately prevail in situations with such conflicts. This also makes it really important as far as players and consumers to know and understand when it comes to interactions with large businesses and companies, since they often hold more power in certain ways. Though this can also be true of certain consumers and players in conflict with others. For example there are certain rules around how players interact with each other, that one group of players and consumers may prefer and endorse and agree with (think cheaters, aggressive or hostile people etc), but some players would be fine with that as well. With cheating, since its only PVE, or "anything goes atmosphere", but such rules will often favour the first group. So in that sense, if a high ranking Developer makes a risque joke, and a player makes a "similar" risque joke, yes, one may be more likely to be punished than the other. Like you won't really have a moderator who may attempt to moderate their bosses. They may use discretion there. Would they be as prone to use discretion with a random player? Well, actually again, depends on the situation. Depends how "similar" the joke is, may even depend on the players current attitude. May depend on the nature of the joke. May depend on something more arbitrary like the moderators mood. Which ideally, it shouldn't be... but people are human. Either way, the goal of the writing isn't necessarily to be indiscriminately consistent in punishing everyone or anyone. Hypothetically, even if the Dev and player made the same exact joke in the same exact setting, one is considered far more valuable to the overall health of the game than the other. Discretion/context applies. It would be a bad look, but its actually quite rare that a player would be admonished for the exact same example, as that of a developer with the developer not being admonished in some way. Also, again, depends on the context. Was it a risque joke? Or a hate filled rant directed at a racial minority? One is obviously far more serious to address. One involves peoples sense of humour. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask questions, or point at anything that didn't make sense or seemed lacking. For transparency and clarity, explanations aren't necessarily endorsements either. Obviously feel free to disagree or criticise any point you think is inaccurate as well. Just please try to understand the bit about explanations not being endorsements. Cheers.
  2. Why Revert when we can Evolve? The game has changed, and at one point Chroma was considered the master of elements, but that was then, and this is now. Many additional Warframes, with even greater elemental prowess have been released, Chroma has fell on hard times. Except there is one thing we all know. Chroma is a big guy, and when we first made him, we used parts from other Warframes to supplement his creation. I say let Chroma eat. As the biggest, why doesn't he just eat all the others? Let Chroma 4.0 happen, where we throw a few Gyre, Lavos, Yareli Chassis, Neuros etc at him, to join the others. Let this influx of elemental energy, enhance, revitalise, empower. Make Chroma's first ability... fire breath, but also a laser, thats also fire, but also electricity, and ice, thunder, and a high pressure jet of water.
  3. I mean, I am not personally opposed, and I think that would be quite neat, but I don't think we necessarily need them. I also wouldn't mind, that they are released slowly with time. To add to that, I tend to think, they are more interesting for the additional or secondary effects they can come with, like increased reload, fire rate, multi shot. Like eventually we are going to get Infested Liches update, and so for that update, sort of like how Radiation was a theme of sorts for Whispers, we could get Gas elemental mods. Now... obviously Gas isn't one of the most popular combos, but if we are getting tougher Infested, and a Gas mod comes with extra multi shot or punch through, or maybe even something relatively rare like AOE size... You'll still have people modding for Viral, and then the new Gas mod may be a good choice for a flex spot on some weapons, for the new content. Sort of like how the Rad mods are decent choices for some people, on some weapons for Whispers content (of course many people, and many builds, don't really need it either...)(Not to mention there are some weapon builds, set ups, that are a bit niche, but can use Gas effectively, that would benefit). As opposed to you know, in one month just giving us Viral, Corrosive, Magnetic, Gas, Blast mods, and everyone gravitating towards Viral. Since there are some people who would like more Mods like these, because they like variety, and more options and potential for builds, and its just as much about the additional affects, like reload or something like that, then some people just want Viral and to push power levels, and to be clear, both are valid, just they are quite different in how they influence the game. Which DE is mindful of, and so may be more likely to pursue than the other. Just a guess though, for all we know, next update may drop 20 new combined elemental mods, but yeah.
  4. I know this might be hard, or not possible for you or others, but you or someone else might want to try and catch one of the Dev Short streams they do each week, and ask in chat. They have already acknowledged they will be late this year, but for those that want updates, or to remind them, then catching their attention during a Dev Stream/Dev shorts, is one way to get it addressed. Personally doesn't bother me that much, but I sympathise for those that do.
  5. Hah, its a bit risqué and I am not sure if I am actually allowed to post it in these Forums, but if you google Yareli compatibility with Drifters or people, you'll probably find a few different Reddit links to people using the copypasta/meme. IIRC it borrows a template that was originally used in Pokemon fandoms. Its very silly. Good for lighting up the mood though. What can I say, I see people in conflict and I get the urge to try and throw a cold bucket of water at the situation. Get it? Bucket of water? Because... Yareli's helmet looks like a bucket?
  6. Oh no, I've already seen the copypasta's and memes around Yareli/Drifter compatibility, and you want to add more fuel to the fire by suggesting... Oh wait, you mean, ride, like... Never mind. Yeah, I actually think that would be neat. Some tile sets in Warframe, riding Merulina is fun, convenient and relatively bug free. The new lab tile sets for example, racing around to get places down hallways. That being said, there are areas and parts of the tile set, that are less ideal. Maybe more verticality or more objects around, maybe its smaller or some other issue. So you can end up with more bugs, glitches and issues, snags and so on. The option to be able to have more control as far as deciding if you want to speed around as Yareli as originally intended, or switching to free style Merulina, would be great for pretending to be Silver Surfer, but also welcome and convenient to many. I can see arguments and reasons against, and I don't know if this would lessen or cause more bugs/glitches, since you know, Warframe, but... providing it doesn't add more bugs/issues, I'd personally like this.
  7. I think this is a good take and I sympathise. Personally, I am the kind of player who might be more inclined to use Yareli a bit more because of the upcoming augment, but I still think your issues and criticisms are well founded. Though as far as my own use... well. It might also be a tile set issue. I don't play much Warframe right now, since I am on a mini break. I log in once a week, to check out some of the weekly rotations, like Teshin, Iron Wake, maybe do Archons, maybe do some Netracells. A few weeks ago, I decided Yareli might be a fun choice for a solo Netracell. Her speed and mobility on Merulina would be handy for the large tile set and hacking, and then her CC and powers with Secondary Buffs would be good for the red circle phase. I actually had a lot of fun. The tile set was also large enough, that I didn't have that many issues with getting around on Merulina. With her Secondary buffs, also made quick work of the enemies. However... there were certain issues that popped up. Times when Secondary wouldn't fire/work, or no abilities would work, or just some other small bug/issue. Nothing super significant, but I nearly died a few times, because of it, and in a solo Netracell mission... So it is a bit of a shame that such issues persist and plague the character. Even if small or the type that can be overlooked, still a disservice for the players that stick by her and her identity/design, and a shame for those that might want to try her out, because of the fun potential. Augment still looks interesting and exciting for me as well. Just for convenience and reliability, especially on more tile sets. Though if it was possible to have both, as in the ability to jump on it or off it and have it trail, for missions where you want to zoom around, but areas that are issues can jump off.
  8. Thank you for providing a screenshot. It really does help. Much appreciated. As the other replies have already mentioned, you haven't actually used Jahu yet (though you did use Lohk, which is very very similar), so an easier enough issue to fix. Just swap those two out and it should work out perfectly! Good luck on your Lich. Take care!
  9. Oh nice! Thanks for sharing. I get that. My own unpopular hip hop opinion is, that I'm not really a big Eminem fan. That also being said, most of the artists I enjoy, (especially more in the present or last couple of years) are lesser known, and smaller, because often thats where you (at least as far as my subjective opinion) get more creativity, you get more originality. You don't have bigger musical labels trying to push people into certain beats or trends to try to capitalise on. So in that sense, there may be artists that might appeal to people who enjoyed what they consider exceptions to the rule. Like as a generalisation, I know there are a lot of older hip hop fans, who prefer hip hop and rap thats more about truth to power, or more about story telling, or creating their own identity, and about authenticity but are against excess and crudity for the sake of it, thats less about shocking the system, and more about being formulaic, repetitive and edgy in its most diluted and sell out sense. Or they just can't really find the strength to get behind a song thats called "You think you the ^%^% but you the fart" and its not necessarily that such a song can't have merit, it may just be a generational thing as well, maybe also its not meant to be taken too serious. Afroman and 2 Live Crew had some solly goofy songs, around crude ideas. but I get it, and peoples reservations. Cheers (and some nice mentions from those other genres).
  10. Personally, I kind of like the passive as so far as if it allows me to scan a bunch of enemies, that I am too lazy to try and scan through other means, like many of the Duviri enemies, and certain rarer enemy types that pop up in certain Sorties with certain modifiers, that I forget about until I see someone mention it later.. That being said, I don't necessarily disagree with your assessment either. I think its accurate. I am just not really bothered with it either. I like the first and third suggestion, second considerably less so. I also can't really remember what the status chance percentage was going to be, but that could always be potentially boosted.
  11. Agreed. Plus there is a wide variety and range present. There are all sorts of different styles, sounds, philosophies, approaches, ethics, to different individuals and bands involved with Hip Hop and RNB. Then like many different musical genres, there is the mainstream, there is the underground, and people and groups in-between, or are alternative, there are different nations and countries with their own overlap and subcultures, that very often weave into other cultural aspects present. You might not like Travis Scott, I don't, but he sounds different to Future. They sound different to A Tribe Called Quest, who are different to Outkast, who are different to Bubba Sparx, is different to Missy Elliot, is different to Ying Yang Twins, is different to Roots Manuva, is different to Wu Tang, is different to Biggie is different to Bone Thugs, is different to Queen Latifah, is different to De La Soul. is different to Black Milk, is different to MIA, is different to MF Doom, is different to LL Cool J. If someone was open minded and had the sincerity to find something they would enjoy and appreciate, they probably would if they looked. Granted, you might need some assistance to narrow your tastes down. There is as much variety, skill, sincerity, honesty, legitimacy and depth as anything else. As well as raw beauty, charisma, zest, influence, story telling, cultural importance. Its like the people that think "video games" is just Call of Duty and Fortnite. "Abstract art" is just Picasso and Dali. "Poetry" is just Edgar Allan Poe and William Blake. There are more to those mediums as well, for those willing to look. Its also really easy to reduce them to the superficial elements, to frame them as lacking value or significance or inferior to the glory of what preceded them. Hip Hop and Rhyme and Blues are very cool, and very legit. That being said, I think I get what SneakyErvin was saying. IIRC and this is just my assumption, and memory about the country they are from, but they probably haven't been exposed to a lot of variety of rap. Probably mostly just mainstream popular hip hop, and if that means, figures like Travis Scott, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj, probably not the best first impression. Per their example of attending a random party and not liking the music, I'd probably be the same, just because I don't really like a lot of modern pop music in general. Just like I don't really like Call of Duty or Fortnite either. Or how I might prefer Remedios Varo and Goya over say... Picasso (I can't really think of any artists I dislike though). More on topic, I still think this is a framing issue. Like there is so much "this is what you assume, and said", into, "no, I actually mean this, and you said this, and as per usual you don't get that, and no, thats not what I mean" and its happening from multiple sources. Like not that I think there is anything wrong with online arguing, can be good sometimes for people to vent, but the conversation doesn't seem like its going anyway... Just in circles, and for some participants that can be fulfilling. I know I can be guilty of carrying on conversation to the annoyance of others, but most of the time, I am legit enjoying myself. That, and I always try to sincerely understand the other person. Not every conversation has to be an argument, and sometimes, its good of participants acknowledge that if so many misunderstandings and misinterpretations are happening, even if they think the other person is responsible, can be good to try let them elaborate for clarity and understanding, as opposed to accusingly holding stuff over their head based on your own interpretation. Like i maintain some people aren't so specific about their experiences in game. I play with nukers and non nukers and people who could nuke harder if they wanted, but are more aware of others play styles. This is most obvious to me in Eidolons, and being paired with people who can do 5x3, 6x3 based on the first two runs, but slow down if we get a new player who is less skilled, slower, (sacrificing shard at the shrine), asking questions, dying more etc some people will slow down to make sure that player feels welcome and enjoys themselves. Thats also something that can happen elsewhere in the game. I don't go into Archon Hunts thinking or assuming anything. I can solo and I can solo fast, but I don't necessarily find it negative or judge those that can't, or can. I'll usually read the room. If I see the other three players have Kuva Heks, Felarxs, Xata Whisper, Roar subsumed, I'll go a bit faster, or keep up, if they are really fast. If they are just trying to survive and a bit more nervous (certain ways you can tell, some might even mention that in game text), I'll usually try to be more supportive and act off assumptions I make (like if they seem like they are firing at the Archons head, thats different than if they are jumping around, trying to hide from enemies. Not that I also delay the death a lot either, just depends on the situation and what I have gathered. Its possibly to be generally accomodating of different players though, often enough (but not always). Plus the difference in gameplay style never bothers me, and barely influences my own enjoyment, its usually just if people cause drama in chat, with bad behaviour there. Thankfully in my experience thats rare as well.
  12. Hello there. Some more information could help assist us in identifying the exact specific issue occurring. The prior answers have some pretty good explanations on what the issue could be. Like if you gave us the name of the three identified Requiems, which one was successful and the two that failed. Or perhaps a screenshot if thats possible? ' Is it possible that one of the Requiems you used was Oull? In the first slot? Oull is a bit special, its basically a convenient way to only need two Requiems, since Oull will always be successful in any slot. So if you have only identified 2, or possibly 3, but are using Oull, it might be that the two other you used, actually go in the first and the third slot. This is just a guess though, because I don't actually know what Requiems you are using. Some of the Requiems also look a bit similar, and its not unheard of other players either having issues with Oull or just not realising they put in the wrong Requiem. On rarer occasions have seen some players even think that the crossed out mark, meant it was a correct guess... Basically, my advice is, check if you are using Oull, and if not, try to take a screen shot or list as much info as you can, and one of us will be able to tell you the exact issue. Good luck and all the best to you.
  13. Sure, but thats a bit of a loaded phrase/quote, with its own context and implications, that has been discussed to death in various video game forums, Youtube comment sections, over and over. How accurate, valid, the caveats, disclaimers, the accompanying baggage that can come with it, depending on its application, usage, framing and so on, can and will differ. Now myself, I enjoy those sorts of broad conversations, and would be willing to have them with anyone... That all being said, I don't think its that applicable here. Do you think if Soren Johnson was here, looking at this specific situation with feedback around Mirage's Eclipse, he would say "Nah, just ignore all that player feedback you asked for, because... given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of a game." Or is it a more broad generalised idea with variables and context? Like, we have a specific situation here, we don't really need to interject broader ideas. Its also totally fine if you really actually do personally think that DE should ignore the overwhelming feedback in that thread and just go with what you think is better. Is that what you think? I personally thought that the old Archon Hunt damage attenuation was fine. I know I was a minority. I also don't mind the changes either, but hey.
  14. I mean, if you frame it that way, you can literally exist in a world where everyone is crying about anything. Like if someone is feeling a bit tired and expresses that, hah, why are they so upset and crying about it right? Big baby didn't get enough sleep? Boohoo? Or are they just expressing they are a bit sleepy/tired, and thats all. Alternatively and the fun part about this, is that it can be relative, is that people can have different orders and hierarchies of issues, opinions, preferences, criticisms, satisfactions, and so on. Like do I personally think that some people are too easily ready to vent about what is upsetting them, than taking a more considered, measured critical approach? Sure, but I would also be careful to not to conflate all types of negative or expressions of objection as the same. Some people can also go into the other extreme, where they attempt to be so stoic, so unaffected, that they don't realise the irony, that they have effectively looped back around but just frame it differently. Also, and as far as businesses and making money is concerned, "crying consumers" are still consumers, and even when they are a minority, can offer valuable data on what you should do, and how you should do it. Just think about literal babies, and how much money you can make of parents. Not all consumers will be as articulate, measured, or neutral with their feedback as to seem like rational, fair, and neutral participants, but thats sometimes a lot to ask from some people, because the way the world is generally set up as far as other larger and more complicated variables. Regardless a lot of those consumers have money and so trying to extract that from them (or alternatively their time, engagement or loyalty, if any of those can be valuable) can be worth it, to the point that many successful businesses just learn that a lot of people's types of expression can be varied, but how to effectively filter that. Stylistically as far as expressing ones thoughts and views... I don't really get it. That being said, I also know not to read too much into other peoples perceived whining or crying, or to conflate it with more reasoning criticisms, since people express themselves in various ways, and not all expressions and interpretations of expressions are accurate. I often use satire, thats not picked up on, and sometimes, you notice that people overuse terms like white knight, shill, whiners or crybabies, not because those accusations are accurate, but because the person is either biased in a negative or positive way towards a product, service or idea, and they want to try and undermine their perceived opponent and fall back on to those types of generalisations/categorisations. So even if the label may be accurate in some situations... given anonymous settings with users you don't know, well.
  15. Yeah throw the baby out with the bathwater. If you drop one egg, pick up the entire cartoon and throw all of them at the wall. Why stop at cutting ones nose, when the face has more to offer? If you spill enough milk, no one can tell if there are tears. Its in the name after all, Digital Extremes, from one Extreme to Another! Its a relative issue. Like comparing 2021 Kuva Nukor stats to 2023 Kuva Nukor stats. Topped secondaries usage charts both times, but in 2021 it accounted for almost a quarter of all usage, at around 23%, with its closest competitor at 5%. In 2023 it had a lot more "healthy competition", far less dominance, weapons like the Laetum, Epitaph not far behind, a lot more variety overall. So its not black and white, "well if they are going to nerf something they should nerf everything", sometimes they just want to reign in perceived outliers. Which can cause issues if unaddressed. So the specific intent, is often just to attempt to adjust some numbers. High usage can be fine, especially alongside peers. Thats always going to be the case in Warframe. Its when graphs start to get stretched or distorted by a single "choice", that they tend to dislike or focus in a bit more. To be clear, nothing wrong with criticising that either, like whether thats indeed going to create the intended effect, whether thats actually healthy for the game overall, whether other approaches are more effective/beneficial, like potentially more minor nerfs, or like some prefer, buffing the less popular items (which of course may lead to power creep and then you have criticisms to the alternative suggestions etc), but its not wise to misinterpret or misunderstand intentions and then treat everything like a blanket.
  16. I don't necessarily disagree, but presumably you have seen the official feedback mega thread right? This thread could also be framed as "Don't listen to the overwhelming majority of feedback, or other people, or other players, I personally find it boring, listen to my preference instead", and to be clear, I am not saying OP is saying that, but essentially... Ignoring that level and amount of player feedback after requested it, would be... pretty brazen of them. Personally and for transparency sake, if that matters to anyone, I don't really play a lot of Mirage, and when I do, I enjoy her, but I am not super serious about her kit. So I don't feel strongly either way. Is the change a bit boring to me? Maybe, but one persons boring, is another persons good reliable consistency. Are there other alternative suggestions, I think are more interesting? Yeah, but as far as I can tell, they really aren't that popular at all. Relatively speaking. (Edited to give context. My post originally addressed an OP, whose thread was merged. It addresses a different idea to current OP).
  17. From my current understanding. Which is flawed in a few different ways, in that i do not watch every stream, and when I do occasionally watch, say a Dev Stream or Dev Short, I am usually multitasking and also quite tired. So not necessarily paying the attention, I think is needed. Also trading is not that important to be personally. I engage with it a little, but thats just another disclaimer as far as, why my understanding may be flawed, I might be misremembering details, so on. I think thats enough disclaimers... I think I remember Rebecca implying it might only be temporary. Like a lot of various restricitions and issues around early cross save, like some that might apply to cross trading etc some would only be temporary. Some aren't temporary, and are very much permanent (like certain skins as far as cross save), but that with time, certain other issues that are or were current, might alter/change. I thought... certain cross trade restrictions may be one of them. Again though, my interpretation might be inaccurate. I only slightly remember DE Reb being asked this question and explaining it was temporary, and I can't remember what stream this was. I think it might have been one of the Dev Shorts (the 15 minute streams they started doing this year, thats usually weekly, since it seemed more informal than regular Dev Streams). That being said, I watch those as background noise, and its entirely possible, my attention lapsed and she was talking about something else related. Hopefully someone with a more definitive understanding can give a more thorough answer.
  18. I can and often intuitively do. Its also not too silly a question. There is a lot of interesting and fascinating research and understanding around why and how we can empathise. Including some pretty interesting real life scenarios, of high ranking military personal, "over" empathising with robots/drones whose purpose function will involve their destruction or partial destruction. Like mine clearing robots, that might get bits blown off, but struggle to keep doing their job, provoking strong emotions from officers who with to cease the testing. Granted its also more complicated in a video game sense as well, as far as motivations. Like can be the result of seeking challenge, or finding an interesting gameplay mechanic, or empathy for characters, that fulfils and satisfies feelings of camaraderie. Even if acknowledged and put into context (as in not taken to an extreme), and so on. Its probably also why I like Defection so much, despite it not being too popular. Sometimes on Syndicate missions, if I am worried they might die (the allies you get), I will have them hang out in a safe location, but sometimes i'll forget, and have to backtrack to get them, because a part of me, would feel bad at "abandoning" them. That being said, I can also apply context when necessary. Empathy in some ways can be a finite resource. Plus obviously some people much prefer the context of "this is a video game, they are obviously not real" and thats valid too.
  19. I am personally limited as far as my knowledge and understanding around the implementation of servers, the potential costs involved, the upsides, downsides, benefits, resources, advantages, as far as what it would mean for (different) player experiences, and so on. As in other people I have interacted with, do have far superior knowledge and understanding on some if not most of what I mentioned. That being said, I am generally more knowledgable and skilled with rhetoric and how people present information and understanding in general, as in sharing or explaining their knowledge and understanding, the framing of and communication involved. Or alternatively, how people can attempt to pass off their opinions, and and surface level understanding as more than it actually is. So far, in my experience, people with actual legitimate understanding and required knowledge about much of the topics variables and to a satisfactory level, to give them a minimum degree of credibility, they are usually relatively rare. Then with that also being said, generally, so far, those that do actually seem more technically competent and knowledgable, in my experience, usually tend to point out why its unlikely to happen, and then usually point out holes or flaws in other people (who don't seem as knowledgable) suggestions or arguments of insistence (with little to no explanative power), just misplaced confidence in the power of anonymity and sliding into ad hominem. In the neutral. As in addressing different points, not necessarily "taking a side", though some may have leanings/opinions. That also being said, again, could be reasons for that, and since I don't know as much as I think I should, to know better, I'm always down to learn more from those that do, Maybe there is a very realistic and feasible way DE could switch to servers that would be a net positive all around, and then like in a month or something, they do, and it turns out wonderful. Regardless, really think we should try and avoid framing the conversation around "I can and so would pay money via a subscription for this". Like the split that would cause in the player base for one, would be pretty divisive, in ways beyond the intent of the idea.
  20. If I had to make an educated guess based off my current understanding of the guidelines, I would say it would probably depend on the additional variables. Like most things. Meaning sometimes there might not be a clear or simple yes or no answer. Hence why rules and guidelines will be worded certain ways, and may also overlap within themselves with other rules/guidelines. So even in cases there are clear yes or no answers, often they come with unstated assumptions/implications, usually related to some other rule/guideline. You could probably host an event and be totally fine, but thats also not an excuse or justification to run an event and act with a carte blanche attitude. Think about someone who decides to host a fashion event and the winner gets 1000 Platinum. Then the person hosting just blocks everyone who signed up, and avoids actually giving a prize. Participants who spend time and effort putting together a good fashion just for the event, might feel annoyed and frustrated, but then what can they do? What can DE do? Enforce a punishment? Maybe. Enforce and force a player to give up 1000 Platinum they might not have, or is their own, just because they said they would for an event? Those are rhetorical questions, on the flip side the "tons of giveaways you see other people do all the time", some of them may actually be reliable, honest and putting in due diligence, and being mindful of hosting the event and potential issues that may arise, and being careful and considerate to make sure everyone involved is being treated well, fairly and with transparency, and maybe emphasis the fun part and the community aspects instead of some crazy reward. They may have also spoken to Support as well. So in that case, even though DE might discourage such events, its the latter that won't get in trouble, and to some, thats obvious. The rule, guideline, "discouragement" is often there for the people who are shady and think of ways to exploit other players or even just players who will frustrate other players, without necessarily breaking one of the other rules. Like if they keep delaying awards or can't decide on a date or time for the event, or if players end up fighting or disagreeing about something, like if they find out the hosts best friend entered and also won, or stuff like that. Are you sincere, genuine and good at communication with people? Then try it, sounds like fun. That being said, I have never hosted any sort of event with giveaways nor do I plan to, but apparently "tons of people do", so again, you could just ask one of them. Or if you already asked Support and they were encouraging, you have the green light already. Being critical of the rules wording is also fine, I myself can be critical of such guidelines and rules, but being critical and acknowledging why or how they are written are two different concepts.
  21. They are just examples to help explain important concepts relevant to the topic at hand. Think about it this way? If you can't meaningfully interpret others points, but instead of trying to communicate with them to understand, like request clarification, or even explain your own perspective if you think its relevant and adds context, to see what they may think on that, then its probably related to why you might be having so much issue as far as thinking the rules and what support say are contradictory. You can be done talking sure. I am not holding you hostage, and I don't view the discussion as an antagonistic one. If you reply to me, I will reply to you. You can claim that no body cares if you trade someone a "transient fusion", but some would claim that "no one would find the rules/guidelines to be so confusing and contradictory to write as much about it as you have", because to some of us, it isn't what you seem to think it is. Its relatively simple. You can continue to claim otherwise, but people have sincerely tried to explain and help you with this. Most of the posts I have seen, haven't been people looking for arguments, just people being respectful and trying to help, by pointing out possible misinterpretations you may have had, and why and how the rules can be interpreted and why they are written in certain ways, and why they aren't written in other ways, like you might suggest or imply. All the best to you.
  22. Odd that people can be dismissive of other hobbies and activities, and seek to downplay and malign them, when empathy, sympathy and rapport are as easily available as well. Given how chess has also had types of negative stigma in the past as well. Not only that, but many skills, types of knowledge, strategy, have overlap, and can be applied in various situations, even if some aspects may be more narrow by nature, but that just means specialisation is available. Then having broader skills and knowledge isn't mutually exclusive with having more specialised skills and knowledge. Even within fighting games as a category, they are very diverse and broad, and so some skills and knowledge can carry over, but some obviously won't. Those who appreciate the historic aspects of chess may also realise its changed and evolved over time as well, and varied a little depending on the culture. Not as much as fighting games, because that well, its an odd comparison. Its like comparing a song thats became a music sample thats used in remixes of said song, to a genre of film. Anyway, fighting games, can often be about the mental match up. As in how well can you predict your opponent and counter them, or how well, you can throw off your opponents predictions. Not just in the singular moments but overall as well. Like there is countering specific moves, but also counter gameplay styles. Except its more complicated than that, because some people may focus more on their own strategy and game plan, and execution, with an idea that their opponent matters less, if they can just execute their own game plan, but some may play for the match up. I mean, I am over simplifying a lot here. Chess can obviously be very complicated as well, and beautiful with its styles and strategies and how you can incorporate your personality into it, and how each game can be different just based off the personalities involved. Its why watching or participating in street chess with strangers can be so enjoyable. You can appreciate, admire and enjoy chess and fighting games. As far as skills that are applicable to real life? I sincerely and warmly encourage people, to realise, you don't have to make anything or everything a competition, or be defensive of what you may prefer, or attempt to undermine what you may not. It limits you, your creativity, your potential interactions with people, and it can also reflect poorly on the thing you appreciate. What young person would want to discover the joy and beauty of chess if they see older people being dismissive towards video games. As if video games and chess both haven't been maligned enough in the past as activities for nerds and geeks. Come on now. As for the suggestion. I am not personally opposed. That would be quite neat. I am not sure DE has the resources to implement it. Komi would probably come first, and it has thematic plot relevance. Chess whilst personally welcome, may just seem... too random. Again, I wouldn't be opposed. Plus imagine if the chess pieces were styled to be Warframe themed. Like Lotus could be the Queen, and we could have a Grineer theme, and Corpus theme (with relevant characters as Kings, Queens, Pawns, etc). Agreed. Well said as always.
  23. Spotting a few different questions and wonderings in various comments, the TheKengineer has a pretty good video on Tennokai mods. They are pretty reliable, and consistent as far as their claims, explanations and testing. Here is a link for you, if you are curious. Especially as far as some of the numbers and percentages. For myself personally, subjectively speaking? I like and enjoy and use Tennokai. I don't think its perfect though, and could be improved somewhat and I agree with some of the criticisms I have seen, as well as have some of my own. Its fun and improves many of my builds DPS though, so overall I appreciate the addition. As far as which Tennokai Mod I think is the best? Depends. I have different melee weapons, builds and playstyles attached to each. Not to mention different types of challenges in Warframe, as far as missions, enemies, difficulty, challenge, and synergies with Warframes and weapons. Some days I am in a rush, trying to do max DPS as fast as possible, and another, I am looking for a slower, solo, pace in an endurance, where I want to be more engaged and thoughtful. Thus, what Tennokai I think is best for a given situation, will change. I do generally like Opportunities Reach though, for many of those scenarios. I like the increased window opportunity, so I can be a bit mores elective with using my heavy/Tennokai attack. Especially since a lot of the melee I use for Tennokai, can have gimmick or special heavy attacks. The extra range is a nice bonus. I like Dreamers Wraith on some others. Disciplines Wraith on builds, where I think regular melee attacks with the weapon are far weaker and less important than the Heavy. I don't use too many of those regularly though. The RNG nature/inconsistency doesn't really bother me, like it does some. Sometimes I actually can enjoy it. Again, depends. Do hope we get some new Mods that might be a bit more specialised towards different weapon strengths/weaknesses (like maybe one that might buff follow through, or one that might allow a double heavy but sacrifice something elsewhere, so of like a Corrupted Tennokai mod), even if they make them weapon type specific. Just because some heavy attacks for some weapon types are better than others, and some cool weapon types could do with some buffs and this could be a way.
  24. Yep, and it does involve a bit of subjectivity too. Some peoples favourites are other peoples less favourites. Sometimes trying to make something that is "universally accepted" can mean something thats boring too, since trying to appease everyone can be tough. Personally, I really wished we could get more Deluxe skins per Warframes, but hey. I'd even personally just be down for Deluxe skins having Voidshell options as well, since you can quite radically change the aesthetic of a skin with how you use textures.
