  1. How about now? .... Wait wait... I'll go outside. ... How about now? ... Maybe I need to get to higher elevation, hang on, I'll grab the ladder and get on the roof, and maybe that will help? Are you there now? Hello? If you can see this, I can see your messages, but I am not sure if you can see mine, hello?
  2. If they were really your favourites, you should be able to close your eyes and magically find them anyway. Even if you aren't playing the game, or even conscious. Your brain just goes into autopilot and mystically guides you to the computer and console, where your psychic powers switch the device on, and then automated pattern recognition and repetitive muscle memory kicks in, and navigates you through the login system, and menu screens, to your "so called favourites". Back in my day, guns didn't even have names, or pictures, so each time we went to select one, from the list of hundreds, it would basically be random. Maybe thats why I liked the Circuit so much. Ah, fake nostalgia for something I entirely made up, that has no semblance to reality. Some sort of favourites would be nice. I have too many favourites personally, so I just use the search tool and type in stuff, and it does that thing where it starts to narrow down the search, so feels faster than navigating all the weapons, or even typing out in full. Regardless I can see why it would be useful.
  3. With respect, a snake summoner sounds cliche and too typical. Making a snake appear, is... fun, but also makes me question the commitment and devotion to the idea of snakes as a theme. The snake is just some magic trick, you can make appear, just to discard when it stops being convenient? Is it even the same snake we summon, or just a cheap replacement as we flush the dead carcasses of a thousand used snakes down the metaphorically gutter? Where is the love and appreciation and commitment in that? So I propose, permanent multiple snakes. As the actual Warframe. Not "slave snakes", like what Lavos s abusing, but make the snakes the main character. Giant writing mass of snakes. Each with different names, but as a collective, they are know as Jake Bob. Bob short for Robert. /s. ... Sorry, just kidding, above isn't serious, its just one long reference to Jake the Snake Roberts, albeit a much better reference than Hulk Hogans 24 inch Pythons, so at least there's that. A snake Warframe would be cool though as well as more snakes in general, even as someone that quite already likes Lavos snakes. Lamia and Naga are also very cool. I once had an idea for a Warframe, whose arm would turn into a living snake, that could gulp up enemies from distance. Was more of a hybrid though.
  4. Good on you for coming so far on your journey! I am just a random anonymous Internet voice, but the efforts and challenges involved with sobriety after addiction are very admirable. I sincerely wish you the best on your journey, in game and out of game. As far as The New War and being locked out, AyinDygra covered many of the potential issues. From my own perspective, the main reoccurring issue most people had difficulties with, were some of the bosses in that update. They can rely on a different type of skill set to complete. You are also restricted to certain gear, as in weapons, and abilities, so one potential issue, is that mechanically, the bosses could be said to be "easy", but it might also assume the person playing it, has certain general skill sets, that may not be accurate or reflect all those who participate in the game. Like in regular Warframe, you don't necessarily need to aim all the time, because Warframes can have abilities that do AOE, auto target, you have AOE weapons, you have melee that doesn't require aiming. In New War, there are some sections that do require some general accurate aiming. There are some other skills that can help as well. I tried to help some of the people who found these bosses hard, and some of them, showed us some video clips of their attempts. Are you familiar with circle strafing? See I wasn't personally familiar with the exact term, but its one of those things that when I went to articulate what it was to others, i realised it was a term in video games, and that I had intuitively been doing it as long as I have played video games. Its just the ability to move/strafe around an enemy, in a way where you can still fire at them, but also be moving so that you might avoid fire/attacks from them. So it combines movement control, with camera aiming control, with firing a weapon and attempting to be accurate with it. There are other factors as well, like whether its PVE or PVP, since many PVP enemies move smarter than AI enemies. Whether you are using hit scan or projectiles, and so whether you need to lead shots, and consider distance. Whether or not cover plays an element, so you strafe in and out of cover, and use right sight advantage. I said that in a longer round about way, because for many people who play video games, we just pick up a controller and do all that effortlessly, like second nature, we don't have to articulate or describe it. Its just natural, but... not all people necessarily can do that well. For many reasons, some that may be more personal to their situation, so on. If you are familiar with circle strafing for example, and know you can do it, and you have done Eidolons in the past, and Duviri quest recently, I would guess you will be fine with New War. The people struggling, I empathise and sympathise with, and there ideally should be ways for them to progress through the mission, or to skip it if not, but as far as I can tell, they are also relatively rare. Now you know your own history with games better than me, so if my explanation about circle strafing makes you think "Yeah, I know all that, I have played a lot of games, you strafe left and right a lot whilst shooting the enemy, to avoid their gunfire or attacks, or even in games with swords, you use distance with actions like rolls to make distance or close the distance, basic stuff sure" you will probably be fine. If your reaction is more like "I don't play any shooting games really, and in Warframe I dislike guns that require aim, and prefer abilities or weapons that don't require precision, because they are more fun, I don't like dodging or rolling either. Its not like you need to in Warframe anyway" then, much higher possibility the bosses may be a struggle. The other thing about them is potentially personality and pressure. Personally, I have always been pretty good at any game I played, probably because I have decent hand eye coordination, and I use my hands for a lot. So games were fun to me, even when I lost, or struggled, but I would enjoy the learning experience. If ever felt frustrated by a game, that sense got processed fast, back into joy/fun. Thats just the personality I have, and since I don't have a lot of internal pressure, I tend to play better, observe and learn better, pick up on enemy patterns and actions better, and so adapt better. If fear is the mind killer, then frustration might be the mind inhibitor, and frustration can often create more frustration as a result. I think that a lot of people also struggled with the bosses, not necessarily because of skill, but frustration. A lot of Warframe is relatively easy, so when some people expect something to be easy, and its not, it can be frustrating. For others, it can be a pleasant surprise. So if the idea of failing a boss attempt on first try sounds potentially frustrating to you, I would say, also try to not put too much pressure on yourself, which ironically was my original message about the game having so much content hehe. You also seem less frustrated with Warframe in general with your most recent reply as well, well, i mean you literally said that, so it also sounds like you are adapting and acclimatising to the game and its peculiarities well enough. If you approach the bosses that way as well, you should be fine as well, unless specifically there is some other variable present (some, but not all people who struggled, often mentioned some specific external issue that made the bosses harder than they might otherwise have been). Long post, but I wanted to be vague so as to not spoil the story, and why and how people can struggle with a games difficulty, can be surprisingly complicated and nuanced, and this quest can effectively soft lock your game as well, and whilst I assume you won't have much trouble with it, many people have, and so I have sympathies for them. All the best to you. Take care.
  5. I am not really a "right" or "wrong" type of person. More of a "Lets all try and be more empathetic, knowledgable and understanding to different issues" kind of person. I wish it was always so simple as just telling people to spend 5 minutes and use Google, but its usually more complicated. I mean someone can also spend 5 minutes on Google learning about how in millions various scams and frauds cost each country (some countries more, some less), and in the grand scheme, Warframe trade chat is obviously not so important or dangerous. Individuals like yourself or myself may not be vulnerable to such scams and fraudulent attempts, but many scammers and people looking to manipulate others, can invest more time and effort into more vulnerable peoples, often people by their nature, who may not put as much time into thinking about how to manipulate people, or know that such scammers are looking for ways to victimise people. Even if you and I aren't vulnerable, we might know people who might be. There are various new reports/research around suggesting that Gen Z is "more than three times as likely to fall for online scams compared to baby boomers" (I haven't taken the time to thoroughly investigate such claims, but a few sources seem reliable). So now, its not even having elderly relatives who may be vulnerable, but younger relatives, as well. Its definitely something more people should be proactive about. Either way, enjoyed the conversation, and good day to you! Cheers.
  6. I think that you took a defensive stance, (and feel free to correct me on that, if you don't think you are being defensive) and possibly didn't interpret my post and sentiments with enough good faith. I think you were sincere, but also think had you taken a bit more consideration, a bit more good faith, a bit more reflection, and considered, "what is this person genuinely trying to say, and am I interpreting them accurately" then you might have had a more accurate interpretation. Then I confronted you with that, with a question, that you could feel free to answer. You could have answered "Yes, interpretation matters, people can be accurate and inaccurate in how they interpret others. Maybe I misinterpreted you, I see that you clarified, and maybe I actually do agree with you now" except, some people don't like that, because they view it as conceding and if they are looking for an online argument to engage in, well... Or you could have answered along the lines of no, and or disagreed, and tried to argue that, but thats where things get absurdist, because if interpretation doesn't matter, then both us would be free to make claims about the other as if they were true and inherently true, according to ourselves... aka a bad faith back and forth argument. Clarity or common ground, wouldn't be the shared goal, but mischaracterisation and smearing, distorting arguments, etc Except I don't think there is anything wrong with conceding, or clarifying, or attempting to ward off bad faith interactions when possible, and preferring good faith exchanges instead. Like you said, "Homelessness or famine have systemic reasons", i agree 100%. I don't think you accurately understood why I randomly included them in my point, but irrespective of that, I agree. So instead of answering or addressing that question, I think, and i might be wrong... but I think you view this as a "combative online argument" thing, and to save face, you are just trying to make subtle jabs at my character, instead of addressing the points I have made. "I think you typed yourself into an absurdist performance that you now struggle to make sense of again." I am not sure what I have done to earn this, is it completely alien that you may have just misinterpreted my points?
  7. Not all children get sent to kindergarten, not all people retain information perfectly. Not all kindergarten or school lessons translate well to practical life situations, or aren't brought into conflict with even other lessons they can teach as well. Whether that be directly or indirectly. Not just that, but do you think that an adult from a wealthy family, who was sent to a really good kindergarten, and then really good schools, and then advanced higher education, in pursuit of education and knowledge around psychology, fraud, manipulation, without enough time and effort, would be so easily foiled just by someone random who happened to have went to kindergarten and learnt "be wary of strangers posing as friendly."? Let me put it another way, do you know or have any elderly people you care about? If you found out in a years time, that one of them was a victim of fraud, would your response be "Gee, kindergarten taught kids to be wary of strangers posing as friendly", is that the type of empathy you might have for an older relative or friend? You know the term common sense, in that specific wording, coexisted and overlapped in an era when it was "common sense" that human bodies health was based on the balance of the "four humors, Flegmat (phlegm), Sanguin (blood), Coleric (yellow bile) and Melanc (black bile). It of course existed as an idea and term before then, sometimes around the idea of common perception as derived from common shared experiences and impressions people have around the 5 senses, good senses. So to deny or reject them, to deny or reject the obvious. However its a deeply inadequate term, past a certain point of history, because not only do we have superior understanding of human medical science, we also know we have more than five senses, and we know a lot of reality is outside our senses, and what is real, factual and true is much more complicated, and can take many years of learning and studying to know... Now common sense, is just common sense, and not really near "good sense" or good knowledge or understanding. Some people like to say "common sense isn't so common anymore", and I understand the intent, behind the phrase, but common sense, is still pretty common, by definition, just people don't care about etymology, knowledge, or nuance, and sometimes fall back on the idea, that their personal anecdotal life experiences, and what makes sense, isn't so universal or necessarily accurate to reality. Suddenly common sense is worth... well lets see how you answer the question about how you would react to a loved one being scammed? What's more important to you, the empathy involved with someone you sincerely care about, or the notion of common sense, in abstract examples, about random strangers online who should adhere to common sense. What's wrong with people? What prompts you to say that? Does this situation warrant you making a snap judgement about people? You don't think that may reflect more on how you have chosen to express yourself in this moment, rather than anything indicative of "people"?
  8. Alternatively, depending on your interpretation, whether or not something makes sense, may depend or reflect on said interpretation. For example, I see that your entire point here, is that cats are better than dogs. Which is silly. Unless of course my interpretation about your point is inaccurate. On that, do you agree or disagree? About interpretation, to be clear, I obviously know your "point" has nothing to do wth cats or dogs, I mean about interpretation. So when you see that i mentioned homelessness or famine? Do you think that I was making a serious comparison or implication that are the results of the same exact forces that shape inexperience with trade chat? Or do you think I was making an intentionally silly and sarcastic remark, alluding to the issues, and dangers of oversimplifying and overlooking the nuance and complexity that can be involved with different problems that exist in the world? Literal non rhetorical questions. You say "I can look up how much an item in Warframe costs generally" yes, that was an element of my original point, generalisations. Scams or deceitful behaviour or action, often live in the cracks, where generalisations are inadequate to invoke, because they often rely on gaps in knowledge or other variables, involved with the scenario. Often intentionally or by design. Which is why I gave an example, of a situation which can't be so easily resolved with a quick Google search. Sincerely, does that make more sense to you, now?
  9. I don't think that some people realise that coming up with the most simple and obvious scenarios, about how and why people should "just Google the information" isn't necessarily going to be practical or meaningful to the many actual situations many many people can find themselves in, because of the way knowledge, experience and wisdom advance and interact, and why and how people learn to manipulate others. The intent? Sure, and I don't disagree... Like obviously if a relatively new player wants to buy a vaulted Prime Warframe from chat, they shouldn't just look at the first offer, see that its listed for 400 Platinum, contact the seller, buy it, later realise everyone else is offering it cheaper and that on Warframe Market, most people are selling it for 90 to 130 Plat, and then feel ripped off, but think the other player was scamming them. "Just spend 5 minutes doing research" sure... What about a situation where a "friendly player" gets involved in a trade where the relatively new player is a bit unaware, but they did their research on a particular item. They did do 5 minutes research, they have a rough idea on what they want to buy, what they are willing to spend, generally what other people offer. They go in for a fair trade with someone else. Oh, but then that person throws in an extra item, that seems really good. A whole entire Prime weapon set. Just for free. The new player is blown away from the generosity. They don't really know much about this Prime weapon, but this other player sure is friendly. They insist its free. Maybe the new player feels like they should give them a big tip. Maybe throw in an extra 20 Plat? The friendly player rejects that offer. New player feels a bit... they want to do something to reciprocate the generosity of the other player and tells them... Other player suggests... well maybe they have some Rivens to give them as a "tip", but oly if they want to. New player doesn't really know much about Rivens, but they have a few... for weapons they don't even know, let alone own. They don't really have the time to do research, right now, but the other player is so friendly, and they don't even use those weapons for the "Rivens" so just give it to them as a tip... There are types of pressure present here, some external, some internal. The sort of trust that we put in others, when they seem like they put trust in us, and did something nice for us, they didn't have to. When they insist on not getting extra, that also influences our perception. Googling Riven prices in 5 minutes may not be adequate for a new player to understand their potential value. Their perception may be flawed. In multiple ways. Many new people often ask about random Riven, seeing others talking about "1000 Plat Rivens", some others won't even know half the weapons in the game its... "Just do 5 minutes of research", or, maybe "do a few years of research and study on psychology, fraud, manipulation, deceit, scam techniques, manipulation." too. Some of the most vulnerable and easy to manipulate, scam and defraud are people who are naive to or overlook the complexity and nuance of such techniques. Not always necessarily in a directly personal way, but in other ways, by underestimating how much time and effort other people are willing to put in, to manipulate situations and scenarios to their liking. A lot of prouder elderly people fall to scams, and get too embarrassed to get help, because of attitudes like "duh, you dummy, just know better lul", because sure, "just know better" is true, just scammers also know that too, duh, hence great scammers refine their manipulation techniques so well, many people don't even realise oir know they get scammed, or are put in positions to be scammed. In other news. Famine no longer an issue, after starving hungry people realise "just eat", which made some people worry about population issues, like homelessness, until guy on Forum points out "Homeless? Why not just have Home? Google it, surely home near by?" which has led to the eradication of homelessness as well.
  10. I don't know. My initial and secondary interpretation of what the Augment means, was a bit different than a lot of others interpretation and speculation. Then how much people invest in their interpretation can vary greatly as well, for some its just fun speculation whilst waiting to see what it actually is, for others its a prediction with high stakes and uf they are wrong, its because everyone everywhere is stupid, dumb and wrong, and so is reality for not conforming to their expectation and assumption. With many somewhere in the middle or if possible, to either side. I might be wrong, but I initially interpreted the 250% elemental damage as being for powers cast, which wouldn't be as powerful as if it were to be added to weapons, especially the way, Warframe maths/application tends to be, and how Lavos powers tend to operate. Like a lot of Lavos ability to deal damage, especially later on, is more on his 4 and the other abilities functions and ability to prime for his 4. Not necessarily doing a lot of outright damage on their own. That being said it could be great in certain situations. Now the weapon element, even without any sort of 250% buff, I think is pretty potent by itself. In the sense, the ability to add elemental status type... any... even for 20 seconds. Yeah for some, its like, "only" one element, but for others, its a pretty potent buff, we already have Augments that exist without the 20 second limitation, but just for one element... Some people also like to create creative and or counter certain specific enemy weaknesses. Again though, just my speculation. Its also vague enough on certain details, that I am looking forward to getting hands on, and getting to test it thoroughly.
  11. Spinach, silver beet and red meat for iron and strength. Wholemeal pasta and dried fruits for iron and armour. Having friends or family roast you for thicker skin. If no friends or family, just surviving is pretty significant, skin probably pretty tough already. ... I may have misinterpreted the question.
  12. Depends really. Like there are a lot of different ways to get Rivens in the game, but they can vary in different ways. Some involved RNG, like Sorties/Archon Hunts. Rivens can be rewards, but its not guaranteed. Some are time restricted and require trading a resource, like Paladino at Iron Wake, who will give you 2 Rivens for 20 Riven Slivers, per week. Some are on rotation and require a Resource, like Teshin will offer certain Rivens as a part of his Steel Path rewards schedule. There are certain Vendors like Acrithis in Duviri that may offer a Riven for Pathos Clamps, but that may be on a rotation as well. Then you can get them from Duviri Steel Path Circuit as a weekly reward if you pick them. Then you can also just buy them from other players. Also some Alerts or Gift of the Lotus can reward them. There are probably other ways I am forgetting. If you play a lot, you can probably get all of them, or at least build up the resources to buy them, when they rotate around. However, some of above, you probably enjoy doing more than others, and you should really try to avoid playing stuff you don't enjoy, just for a reward, as that just leads to burn out. So try to find missions you enjoy, that overlap with getting the reward.
  13. IIRC certain mission statistics can appear weird or warped, depending on different parameters, and variables. Some I have experienced first hand consistently and can replicate, but some I have heard from others, as hear say, so can't really say how reliable they are, but eh. For example, if a player disconnects or there is a host migration, that can sometimes lead to weird damage dealt stats, apparently some have said that doing too much damage can lead to odd results, possibly like pictured in OP example, or and potentially related, but I have heard that "overkill" damage can be tracked differently as well. Like there is killing an enemy with something, but then there is also killing them with something a hundred times over, and certain builds/weapons are better for that than others so... Oh and as mentioned above, pulling different data from different missions, for reasons. Certain enemies being considered bosses. Different enemies having different metrics involved around being killed, kill participating etc. Certain Warframe abilities effect on enemies also can redefine them as crates and thus being opened, hitting multiple enemies with one projectile or ability can lead to greater accuracy (10 birds, one stone). Some of these are quite easy to replicate. To the point, that whilst many statistics can seem wrong, warped, misleading, off etc, outside of situations involving other bugs or errors (like trying to calculate stats for a mission that started with 4 people but ended with 3), the results are probably relatively accurate just reflecting the weird strange underbelly and coding of the game, and those types of interactions, rather than what we are presented with.
  14. Sort of yeah, but its complicated. Though it can also be as "simple" as you want it to be, depends on how you want to frame it. Nothing happens in a vacuum though and different people have different expectations, priorities, perceptions and personal situations, and that natural variety and range in experiences, values and desires can add complexity. Not just within trade chat, and Warframe, but in broader economics in general. For example, we could take 100 people, and get them to decide on a value for a particular Warframe item. We could get them to come to a consensus on different price points so even if they don't agree exactly, we can sort of have a range. like lets say XYZ Mod, unranked. Their consensus is that 25 Plat to 50 Plat is a generally good and fair deal. Less than 25 plat is favourable to the person getting the mod, and 100 Plat to 50 Plat, favourable to the person selling, but not too outrageously unfair. If there is someone willing to pay that much. Then they agree that 101 Plat and above is starting to get unfair. So they also all naturally come to the consensus that selling it for 2000 Platinum is obviously silly, very unfair and not reasonable. However... in a free market, well, what if someone with 1 billion Plat wanted to buy that Mod for 2000 Platinum. Its their Plat, and if they want to buy it, why is that unreasonable? Also trade chat has more than 100 people, and coming to consensus isn't easy... so if you also have a minority of people who are really aggressively looking to generate more value for themselves, even at the potential negative experience of others... well, thats not necessarily not allowed... because if people don't agree, they can just not participate or be involved in the deal or transaction right? However... potentially what happens, is if a lot of those types of players, are in trade chat, constantly posting over and over "XYZ Mod selling for 2000 Plat" even if they are a minority, even if people think thats not good pricing, it can have a negative affect, because it can influence the perception of values, from people who may not be as savvy about values or perceptions around value. More neutral or uninformed individuals, may start to be influenced by perceptions, and still sell cheaper than 2000, but more than 100, because why not? Then if you have a certain type of player that is just relentlessly posting in chat over and over with a small minority also doing the same, it may create a type of congestion and spam, that more moderate and fair orientated (fair for me, fair for the other person), players will be discouraged and disincentivized to participate and seek out alternatives like say Warframe Market. Compare a more casual player who sincerely wants to trade "fairly" but only has around 15 minutes, if hypothetically, there are 10 players who want a more self motivating value situation, where they benefit more, and they have 4 hours to sit in trade chat. Then that as a ratio instead. Hypothetically you can create a situation where some types of players are discouraged from participating because they find the system unfair, and so perceptions skewer a certain direction. Like imagine hypothetically, you went to use trade chat and there were 300 people in it, but 299 of them, only wanted to trade Stropha Rivens... but you are there for literally anything else. Now there are some tools that exist to try and assist in this regard, like filters. Some of the problem can still exist though. Also to be super clear, most of my examples are silly on purpose, to just demonstrate how issues can arise. Not necessarily that its what is happening currently. You can have a small minority, potentially negatively influence a "free market", because of factors and limitations around say, a trade chat, versus a system with easier price evaluations, comparisons, records, and systems designed to assist new and uninformed players, help teach them about value and... none of this stuff is info people are born with, and its why with real money, there is a lot of money involved with education, learning and understanding all this in regards to finances. Obviously Warframe selling stuff isn't as important in the grand scheme of things, but a lot of similar principals can apply, as well as flaws, oversights, and why and how some may try to exploit it or engage in shady stuff to attempt to manipulate it. However the other important thing to remember is that... "it functions decently as is", so they may not necessarily be an incentive to try and improve on it, make improvements or anything similar. The Youtube channel the Kengineer has a pretty good video on this very topic as well. Worth checking out. Despite some of my hypotheticals, I do actually find in practice, trade chat has a decent amount of "good faith", and "fair" value exchanges happening. Even some pleasant and charitable people participating. Also nothing necessarily wrong with some people wanting to get a good deal for themselves necessarily. Some people have more disposable income, and Plat, and some people have more time and patience, and so to one person what might seem unfair is actually two individuals with different values and ideas around value. The tricky bit is knowledge and discrepancies around player knowledge and understanding, so usually framed as newer players getting taken advantage of, as well as potential manipulations as discussed above, making trade chat a burden to try and navigate (hence the relative popularity of Warframe Market and also why some would like certain tools like an auction house).
  15. If you were bothered or felt offended on any level, even if remote, by sincerest apologies. Nothing personal was meant, its just my silly humour. If you need a more empathetic message, this topic has been done to death, even when people attempt to put a spin on it, it usually gets locked. Telling people "to get out of your thread" for not reading when you also say "Part of me does, yes. I can't stand having those Codex Entries visible but being unable to fill them. And I know it's pie-in-the-sky thinking." is affirming what the other user was getting at. What you wrote here? Its far more transparent and sincere, and its totally valid and okay if you feel that way... but a lot of us are tired of the song and dance people try to disguise that. Lots of people are frustrated for lots of reason, some might actually have legit OCD and completionist tendencies. Some people may have only been 5 when such offers were made, and find it unfair, but we also all get that too. Some like myself even sympathise, but its a dead topic that gets beaten so often, its the number one most locked/repeated thread in the Forums. Again, sincerely sympathise but also... Please realise how done to death this topic is. Not for my sake. I personally don't care, but legitimately for your own, because such threads tend to be locked, there isn't much discussion potential. You spend time writing your OP and it gets locked, well thats probably frustrating too. Again, my apologies if my sarcasm/humour seemed unnecessary. Take care.
  16. I have a question for time travellers. Lets say that hypothetically, the question I am about to ask, has been asked to death so many times, that all horses have gone extinct. That every time I have seen it asked, the thread has been locked within the day. No matter how creative or uniquely framed, a person asking the question, believes they are being, to stand out from all the literally hundreds of threads, that have been locked, for asking, essentially the same question, just dressed differently. Not disguised thread or questions... really, trust me, just dressed differently. The "I am Not Like Other Excalibur Prime thread" type of Pick Me. Lets say hypothetically, you can time travel... how far into the future do you have to go, before you find a way, to travel back in the past, so I can have Founders item gear? For the record. I am not asking for those items, because I know other people have asked 12, 786, 865, 875, 276 times... and so that would be silly of me, haha... but wait, wait... My question is for time travellers. Its totally different. I mean, its not even really related, so if you lock this thread... well its like racism to time travellers really? When you really think about it? Do we really want to make an enemy of time travellers? So what do y'all think? Excalibur Prime, Lato Prime and Skana Prime for Warframe's 11th Anniversary? Would be really fitting when you think about it, and we just need conformation from time travellers that this will happen.
  17. Lavos flavoured Convolution, but a more diluted blend, with hints and dashes of Garuda as far as aiming required. As the Lavos blend, does require more input mixing, but you can generally ignore aiming/directions for the most part. With a slight aroma of Equinox. In that, how Convoluted will also depend on your tastes. It could be entirely possible to just spam the same chapter over and over, or you may attempt a Magnum Opus each time. The sort of decision best left to when pondering with a stroke of the beard whilst resting ones chin on the palm of their hand, rested sturdily by ones knee.
  18. I don't actually know what the per enemy drop chance rate for Reactant actually is. There probably is a number statistic tied to enemies, since DE is surprisingly transparent with drop tables and rates and all that, I am just not sure what exact combination of terms, will take you to the relevant data. Its usually something most people don't get so specific over, because more basic principles apply. There is a corruption mechanic, where fissures open and will turn generally normal enemies, into "corrupted versions" (even the Corrupted enemies in the Void need to be Corrupted this way). Generally... such fissures will introduce and teleport a few enemies to a location, however, if there are enemies around already, those enemies will also be Corrupted, and the more Corrupted enemies around, the better as far as getting Reactant. There are a few other general ideas that can help. Certain tile sets, can have predetermined spots where Fissures are more likely to happen, with consistency. This is easier to notice if you run Defence maps a lot, and start to notice patterns. Basically though, its a way to start to learn when it might be beneficial to pause a moment before killing a large group of enemies, so they can be Corrupted first, then killing them. Also, just in case you weren't aware, but I assume you do know... but other players will have little numbers near their usernames. Different symbols by their names can be for different reasons, but in Relic missions, one of those symbols and numbers is how many Reactant they have. I assume this is how you are noticing some have more than you? Its good to be able to multitask and reference that number, because if you load in and 2 players have 5 Reactant already? Thats the reason they have more. Hence why they finish with more. Depending on when/where you loaded in, you can sometimes back track a little and there might be some Reactant behind you. You can also mark Reactant too. Not sure what the PC button for it is, but on Console we can mark Resources by pressing Left Direction button. Its handy if you notice someone on your team doesn't have 10, if you just picked up your 10th, you can mark it for them to collect. Number of players doesn't have a direct influence AFAIK, but depending on the mission, like Star Chart missions, more players can mean more enemies, and more enemies means, more enemies to be Corrupted and so more Reactant that way. Its another reason why many try to make sure they are in full parties for Relics (as well as more options for rewards). Anyway, hope that helps. Feel free to ask questions about anything else related if you so desire. Or if anything above didn't make sense. Oh and another tip? If you look at your allies, and you suddenly notice that someone has more Reactant than others and you know you both loaded in about the same? Look for where they are on the map. It means, there should be a lot of Reactant near them. In Capture and Exterminate, you should all generally be going in the same direction, but handy on Survival and large Defence maps (though in Survival, you also don't want to be too spread out either). Take care.
  19. Just to be super clear, for clarity sake. You do know how to get marked to be hunted by Zanuka right? Since on occasion, I have seen people talk about Zanuka or Grustrag Three and trying to farm them, and then you ask them what they are doing, and sometimes, they'll say something wild, thats nothing to do with actually getting them to mark or target you. Or they do, but they run the wrong types of missions to ensure odds/chances etc. So whilst you may be doing everything correctly, can also be a good idea to actually write down what you are doing exactly, to make sure others know you know, that way we can rule out such issues. I have a small clan, so was pretty easy for us to get the pigment, but also this is Warframe. Weird bugs can get quietly introduced in random updates, and may not be reported or realised until weeks later. So that may also be a possibility.
  20. ... You mean regular chaps? You know Chaparreras? Or are you implying Mesa's ass is on backwards? I mean I agree with the notion, 100%, as well as more attachments having toggles for more characters in general, since many have obstructive elements in designs and all just peoples aesthetic preferences, fashion styling etc would benefit. I just want to make sure we are on all the same page, that Mesa's derrière is fine where it is too. Thats not what they mean when they say "You can see it from the front". Again though, fully agree overall though lol.
  21. Ha, thank you. I wish I could be more concise, but I have this natural tendency to want to provide context. So I'll think, "I wouldn't want others to misconstrue what I mean, so I better write a lot of additional information, especially if I plan on ross referencing it later", and sometimes its just more convenient for myself to go with intuition. Though its also a bit of laziness as well on my part. Great observation. Now DE just needs the next Warframe to use more of a "tumble" in their forward movement animation, to really complicate everything. Or maybe the next new Warframe can do a Roly Poly. Though arguably maybe Grendel in Ball form could be technically considered to be doing a Roly Poly. Prime Roly Poly when?
  22. Did you load in last, and were other players already ahead of you? Based on what you told me, its probably just that you loaded in last. For example, if all 4 players load in at the beginning, and run around together, everyone will likely get the same amount of Reactant, because its not like there are different drop rates or anything. However... its possible that they killed enemies while you were loading in, and by the time you did load in, latter enemies were being killed so fast, that by the time they got all theirs, you will still playing catch up. Makes sense? If you ever load in as host for example, it should be a different experience. Its also why, often, its good etiquette in Capture or Exterminate on lower level missions, with less enemies, if you are Host or first people to load in, to pause a bit for the other people to load in fully, before killing enemies, so they can have an easier time to get Reactant, so you don't end up with people being a bit search and having to try and hunt down lone enemies in corners somewhere (or also alternatively, DE to implement some sort of better system to avoid such issues as well). Also if you are still new, what I say next won't help much, but its why I personally like Steel Path mode, for Relics, since more enemies and better enemy density, you get Reactant way easier, even if you load in last. Take care.
  23. I sympathise and somewhat relate to your situation. Even if, I had a much different experience and take on some of your examples. I feel though as if this is touching on a lot of different issues, some which can be a bit complicated. To try and be more concise than I usually am, I'd like to generalise and lay on the idea of a player, the game, and other external circumstance. Then how they can overlap or influence each other. For example, with myself, there have been times, when the game was doing something, that if they were happening earlier or latter in my life, I might find more negative than positive. Not because of the game itself, but more my own situation. Or whether I might enjoy something, may involved factors that I can influence, so whether or not I enjoy it, can be a bit up to myself. I use to really be into comic books. I took like a decade long break, and am starting to try and get back in. It can sometimes be an exercise of frustration and annoyance, because obviously a lot will change, and the comics medium, especially Marvel and DC comics can have a variety of issues, old, new, developing... That being said, there's always going to be... There is what a game/hobby is, what an individual wishes it was ideally, what we experience, what we could experience, and what other people are okay/fine with. Some of your lines struck out to me, these ones. "I'm sure someone out there loves it, but why pay service to the outlier when the core content has been what has stuck and worked all this time?", "but the plains and eidolons, railjack, vallis, deimos were all great additions", "it's like they're constantly fixing what's not broken, breaking it, fixing that so it's not broken but then breaking it in a new way", how much of this is personal experience and then perception and projection, to more neutral and comprehensive and accurate to both the larger broader viewpoints as well as alternative views and experience, even if only representative of a smaller minority? Like how does one know and be aware that someone else is the outlier versus potentially existing in their own minority of sorts. Which also, to be clear, isn't invalidating or an attempt to undermine any individuals experiences and view points, but we are dealing with a lot of subjective elements here. I am someone who has played Warframe for a long time, and I know quite a few who have as well, I found most of your examples great too, but ehhh Railjack on launch (I like it a lot more since)... and I also thought Deimos was also quite weak on launch... I also think a lot of the most recent content/updates is Warframe's best. Again though, I can sympathise and understand why you might be frustrated too, because Warframe has been adding a lot of content since Deimos, and its tricky, because tp some, if its good, then the more, the better, for others, if its a neutral to negative experience, then more content can just mean more frustration. That being said, do you think you are critical or frustrated with the game necessarily, or the situation of your experience? For example, some of your examples, sound like you jumped in with a bunch of different randoms, and the game... is no longer what you expect? However, if you played with some friends who helping you catch up, or solo, would those same issues exist? If you are rushing to try and catch up, is that the same, as going slow, and potentially enjoying new systems and mechanics and the new gameplay options and versatility in choice? Is jumping into Warframe, end expecting it to just click, the same as approaching the game, with a battle plan to maximise your enjoyment? That latter question may seem a bit funny in concept, because usually, you know, a game, should intuitively be enjoyable, without any sort of planning or preparation. Personally, I find Warframe, is the kind of game, that benefits, some individuals, like myself, to actually put more thought into it, otherwise it can be overwhelming. Its the kind of game, where you need more consideration into what you want to get out of it. You need more of a game plan otherwise you might get burned out, frustrated or annoyed. So I personally often end up enjoying Warframe, because... I know myself, what I like, what I dislike, and I know my own pace. Half my play time is solo, then the rest is split between PUB and friends/premade. I play off and on, so take breaks regularly. I say all this, because it might beneficial for you to slow down a little, and to try and identify what you like about the game., what you dislike, and ways to maximise the former and avoid the latter. Also, and this can suck, but people can also grow apart from a game or hobby. Thats obviously up to you, to decide, but same with me. Maybe, I just grew apart from comics and won't get the same enjoyment out of them anymore (I mean, i probably will, comics is a big medium with a lot of variety, and styles and I also have a lot of old stories from writers and artists I know I like, to check out). Maybe something in the game that irritated or frustrated you, you might actually enjoy and like, in a different situation and scenario. Like you know Eidolons, for example, is different if its a premade team who knows what they are doing, versus PUBs having arguments with each other, versus PUBS being friendly and helpful to each other, versus friends having a chill experience, versus doing it solo. Sometimes you need to curate your gaming experience a little, to get the most enjoyment out of it, and that doesn't necessarily absolve a game of its flaws and negatives, nor invalidate criticisms, but it can make experiences more enjoyable for those that desire them or are trying to enjoy catching back up. Good luck either way!
  24. Its time for a pop quiz children! What is the Anti Void? A. An antagonistic character in a meta themed Crisis story by Grant Morrison. B. The Sentry. C. The Wall in the Man. The Anti Man in the Wall. D. Don't go asking for answers to questions you don't want answered Kiddo! (if you select this answer you get to hear ominous background laughter).
  25. Firstly you are not stupid. TLDR. There are reasons. Secondly its just a language and communication thing. There is probably something you enjoy, where your interest and attention to it, has meant, that over time, you have picked up on subtle or nuanced aspects of it, that for some other people may fall by the wayside. Now, you don't necessarily have to enjoy something to pick up on additional nuance or complexities, its just something that can be relatively different across individuals. Warframe, like many things, will often use certain language techniques. Usually context should help you understand what is meant or intended. Like there are multiple examples of a word in Warframe, meaning two very different things. Then examples of different words, effectively meaning the same thing. Why, when and how? Well context. See to some its helpful, to others it can be obfuscating and frustrating. Also some words can be synonymous, meaning they are used because they are similar, but not necessarily exactly the same. So they can be used interchangeably in some situations, but may imply certain differences depending on the conext. Though sometimes they can just be used for reasons, such as conveying intent better, or just the idea of better communication. Some terms can get too repetitive. So for some, arguably superficial reasons. In Warframe, not all Warframes have what would technically be referred to as a roll, in strict criteria. However for all gameplay intents and purposes, they function the same as a roll. So in that sense, a dodge would be more accurate. Dodge however is generally a lot more broad of a concept. Like a bullet jump, is technically a dodge, so is a jump. However they might not meet the same criteria for certain conditions or functions within Warframe, like certain effects, buffs, debuffs, so on. So this is why the words may be used interchangeably, or prioritised over another. Generally I would say that Roll/Rolling, is usually some combination of a direction in combination with the Jump button. On PSN the default jump is X. Not all Warframes technically "roll", like Qorvex just does a slide, but... for the purposes of damage reduction, and say Rolling Guard, its considered a "Roll". They are also technically dodges, but not all dodges will necessarily activate the same buffs or say Rolling Guard. I hope this isn't all too confusing... Several replies have already touched on some of this. Like roll to dodge just sounds better than dodge to dodge. Its a bit like the example of, and I forget the usual standard example, but "All Labrador Retrievers are dogs, not all dogs are Labrador Retrievers". All rolls are dodges, but not all dodges are rolls. Rolls can also have variations, side rolls for example. The aspect of the roll many focus on, or emphasis is the turning over an axis point. Most Warframes, by default, and the heavy majority of the earlier Warframes, all had forward rolls. Over time, more Warframes started to have unique animations instead of a roll. Dashes, slides, cartwheels, whatever it is that Xaku does, etc but they are fulfilling the "Roll" criteria and requirement, for say Rolling Guard. Contextually its just better to refer to them as rolls for in gameplay reasons. Though maybe at other times they may refer to them as dodges (which can also be narrowed down by qualifiers like "certain" dodges), which they all technically are anyway... but again, not all dodges may fit the requirements or criteria for certain buffs/conditions. Basically the game expects you to understand context, and if you don't... don't feel too bad, but also... asking such questions, and taking in new information wen you can, usually will improve your understanding. So even just thinking about it for a while, or even looking up the dictionary definition of such words, looking at the Wikipedia pages for rolls and cartwheels. Small things like that, will just just expand your knowledge. Which in turn makes your ability to discern and guess context around the usage better as well. Its more interest than anything else. If you can't tell.. I am really interested in language and communication. I find it fun! That being said, I used to hate maths. I blame my maths teachers. I now like and appreciate maths. I developed and fostered an interest in it. I'm not amazing at it, but I am happy with my own progress. Don't let a perceived lack of, stand in your way of potential interests yeah? Oh and ist also totally fine to not care either. Not everything will appeal to everyone.
