Isolation Vaults Post Arcana

So I know this topic has been done to death and I've certainly done my reading but almost ALL of it is about the 'early vaults' before the changes and additions Deimos:Arcana brought with it(or at least most of what I've been able to find is). Now I find myself trying to farm the parts needed for Bonewidow, the 2(or at least I think I only need 2) weapons parts(Arum Spinosa and Sporothrix), and all the other arcana isolation vault goodies. But the kicker is my previous methods don't seem to be working. I'm aware of the Ignis/Stropha/Punch Through 'Nerf' if you can call it that and that wasn't really my style. I preferred trying to go straight at it with frames like Wukong or Revenant using the Twin/Thralls to distract the mech while I light up the pretty little crystal thing in it's back. Except for some reason none of them seem to hold the damn things attention anymore! It sounds like Octavia still facerolls them, and you can still Defy them into scrap metal, and that armor stripping still helps but are there any other 'viable' solo options that work(most of that feels like cheesing it and I'd rather not, even though I know it's not really cheesing it)? Someone suggested a Condemn Hildy but someone also said you can't Condemn the Mechs? I'm not a novice nor am I an expert, I like to think I'm at least 'intermediate to advanced' when it comes to modding for what I need but the Vaults just don't seem quite as solo friendly as they were before, that or I think to highly of myself and need to learn the Wisp sniping method someone kept raving about. Any and all help would be appreciated! Would like to manage some of this on my own without bugging a buddy to Chroma me through it like he already does Profit Taker!

TL;DR: How do you solo Necromechs with their 'new' mechanics?(Loadouts would be better then just 'Sniper Wisp Lolz'!) Thank you!

Some updates for those that find this in the future:

  • Combining Octavia's 1 & 2 DOES NOT work like it used to, much like the other means of distracting them(Wukong Twin, Revenant Thralls, etc.)
  • Condemn doesn't work on Bonewidow but certainly helps on Voidrig
  • Punch through does still seem to work but you have to knock off the arms

From what I can tell, they seem to have a very specific threat AI in that they always target you, if they can see you, so invisibility is more-or-less the way to go in fighting them. The problem is that invisibility is really bad for the Loid part of the mission, as you want to be pulling fire off of Loid while escorting him.

Also, I have not really noticed a nerf to punch-through against the mechs, aside from the fact that you cannot hit them multiple times anymore. Stropha and Ignis still tend to hit a weakpoint with every attack.

So I take it you are looking forward to getting Octavia Prime?

No she doesn't anymore. As Lathra already pointed out, invisibility is key to using her. As for strategy, you already understand the need to distract the mech.

That's a problem already. If it's Bonewidow enemy mech, Chroma is no problem. But Voidrig uses nullifier pulses (AKA Thermia "Burps") to knock out buffs and abilities. The range is 15-20 metres iinm. Voidrig will often close the distance and charge at you.

Vanaukas suggestion to use a mech is reasonable, but I always get owned by other mechs. Maybe they have a strategy to offer?

On PS4 I use Korrudo heavy attack build with a riven. I can sometimes take out a mech in a few hits, but it's a crapshot because if I'm not lucky the mech 1-shots me first.

I'm not happy with the "cheese or you're doing it wrong" situation :crylaugh: Looking forward to seeing build suggestions or combat strategies for this.

So with some quick testing with Stropha(and with Catchmoon which I know previously was said to be of some use) it seems like the effectiveness of the punch-through is seriously reduced unless you take off their arms. Pre Arcana at least I'd go down and just blast away without worrying about the arms(though the area of Catchmoon did occasionally pop one off) just trying to get shots against the back as I didn't trust how far through it'd go. Was never as effective as using a diversion and sniping their back but it worked 'well enough' back then.

Gonna try the Xaku method and see how that works for me. As fun as a Condemn Hildy sounds not sure it's worth making just for the Vaults at present.

Have had a few decent runs on T1 and T2 though I find my new kitting for the mechs to be not so effective on the 2nd phase(Survival part), might need to tweak my Primary and/or secondary since I'm not used to using my Melee to deal with the Mechs.

i use voidrig and arquebex their heads off.

Spoiler

i don't know if that is the kind of answer that you're looking for -since everybody are so focused on using warframes.

but for people who already have voidrig and just need to do vaults quickly for something else, i'm genuinely surprised that so few people are shooting their heads. most focuses on hands because loid cheers us to do so.
actually three or four hits to the head from any half decent arquebex should take it out real quick. arquebex with proper formas will take them out as fast as you can blink.

Any frame, any weapon...really doesn't matter.
If you already have voidrig, sneak behind or close to the enemy mech, activate 2, activate 4, shoot, gg.
In most cases it's dead in less then 3 seconds, but if the angle isn't right it may take to 5-10 seconds per mech(works on both mech types).
If you want efficiency in ttk I haven't found anything faster for now.
