Steel Path isn't supposed to challenge you as a player, but just your loadout against a higher scaling. It's not more difficult, it just involve more health and damage that you fight with the same on your side (aka better loadout).

First of all, steel path is literally a challenge but just some weapons made it way too easy to sweep through doesnt mean they are not a challenge. 
 

However, steel path is not the point here. As a “endurance” player in a community with similar interests, disruption steel path in relic runs get u the most fun. As u obviously don’t understand it, it yields more bonus resources as u progress through a endless relic run. It is boring to use warframe with immunities to tank the damage. Shield gating is not as easy as u thought because some abilities have long casting frames like frost’s 4. Not to mention most of us are just tempted to min max a weapon/setup to the absolute extent to see how much damage can it do

No hate, really great work this Devstream, and props to the team. 
Great to see some issues being tackled.

Shielding needed a buff, and i believe this will be a great step, however i fear the Shieldgate Nerf with the new mod will seriously be too much.
It NEEDS to be a Aura/Exilus mod, otherwise it will not see much use, and be a kinda wasted mod slot. 

The capacity should be fine, being around Sure-footed´s capacity, if it would share the same Polarity AND EXILUS SLOT, that could also be a good way to make players choose that style too. 

If you plan on adding a new Arcane of sorts to fix this, also fine, i am excited to see what you´ll do.

Frost 1+2 are pretty useless, put nourish over whichever your personal playstyle uses least, done, fixed....
for me personally the trash skill to replace is 2, because it does no damage, and needs an augment to slow, when his 4 is 100% slow to enemies without overguard, and 65% slow to ones with overguard. and 1 can pop no longer needed snow globes to annoy your team less.

I don't feel like there's any real need to change the health, armor, and shield mods. I disagree that there's confusion about how they work. The arsenal modding screen already shows the rank-up bonuses, e.g. "+200% HEALTH". It stacks additively with mods, just like everything else. You slot in Vitality for "+440% Health", and that stacks with the +200% already shown on the UI. Where's the confusion?

If you are going through with this, then I find the current numbers disappointing. You seem to be focused on trying to match the "final values" after mods. Most people in this thread seem to be focused on that as well. But what really matters is how much the mods increase the stat, and that appears to be nerfed across the board. If a mod like Vitality gives a smaller health bonus, that means it's been devalued and is less worth a slot on the build. Especially when you consider that there are other means of getting health, armor, or shields, such as Archon Shards, Arcanes, flat-value mods, or abilities.

because they obviously want to heavily discourage sticking to the old shieldgating meta, and want to nudge you away from it by making it require an extra mod slot, but still providing it in a way that "lets you continue, but at a cost"

I also, cannot kill the Orowyrm to the point I do all the missions up to 6/6 when it says Summon the Orowyrm. At that point I just quit to the Dormizone without touching the Decrees to keep what I found. Those challenges I hate the most; kill Void Angels, Orowyrm, complete an Archon Hunt - not everyone likes or can do that stuff so miss out on it. Void Angels I took out eventually, Kahl though I can't stand him or his brothers so never did any Veilbreaker stuff after the quest so Archon Hunts are a no ty and my Orowyrm has always bugged making it impossible to even get on the creature let alone damage it. The orbs it throws out are too ridiculous xD To everyone farming them, you have my respect and awe as I just can't with those things

I still don't understand why a dragon key nerf was needed. Forcing us to use another mandatory band aid mod just to keep squishy frames alive shouldn't be the solution. It only gets worse when a lot of builds require every available mod slot just to function, so having to give up another mod slot just to stay alive in SP will only hurt squishier frames & build diversity overall.

Different modifiers that apply at different times with different conditions that could work well together, this would fill the same niche as Bane mods as a final exponential multiplier.

Condition and gundition overload increases Base damage per different type of status.

this is applied earlier as its a Base damage function.

Enemies taking increased damage would be a faction multiplier which gets applied afterwards

1. Weapon Base Damage * (1 + Damage Mods) = Modded Base Damage
2. Modded Base Damage * Body Part MP = Part Damage
3. Part Damage * (1 + Faction Mod) = Faction Damage
4. Faction Damage * Damage Type MP = Faction Type Damage
5. Faction Type Damage * Armor Mitigation = Final Base Damage

So for Condition overload you get

Base Damage × [1 + Damage Mods + (Condition Overload Multiplier × n)] 

so for example you deal 10 base damage and the enemy has 5 different procs on them so you get

10*[1+0+(.8*5)]=50 damage dealt

If say all 5 of those procs are somehow limited procs at cap and it gives 20% per you get 

Part damage * (1+Faction modifier)

50 * [1+(.2*5)]= for 100 damage.

But the important part is that it applies after everything as a separate modifier. 

to put another mod in place of the mod like Pressure point which gives 120% extra damage

10*[1+1.2+(.8*5)]=62

The big problem I've always had with shields is that they don't regenerate in combat and they take absolutely forever to recharge back to max. I remember something like 20 seconds out of combat to recharge the 1200 or so shields on my Frost...so them tanking more damage is cool and all, but it won't make them much more useful if they don't come back significantly faster. I honestly think they should come back all at once instead of the slow recharge over time, just refresh the full shields after 3 or 4 seconds of not getting hit.

 

Edit: Checked the wiki for math: At 1295 shields, it takes me 1295/(15+(0.05*1295)) = ~16.25 seconds for a full recharge. You said in the Hydroid rework you removed Undertow because it was basically sitting still in a looter shooter, yet me having to wait 16 (+ 4 seconds if my shields were entirely broken) seconds for my shields to come back out of combat isn't a problem?

Why is the current shield gating meta an issue to begin with? It doesnt take away the ability for other builds to work, it doesnt allow you to sit afk, and it forces you to take an active playstyle to survive. The reason why its so good was because it didnt cost you anything to use it aside from being more proactive in game, now to not only nerf it but force us to use an unneeded band aid just feels like a slap to the face.

It's potentially worse than that (on paper) since the formula doesn't take into account recharge delay.  Buuuut...

...it also doesn't take into account Brief Respite, Auger Mods, or shield restore gimmicks.  There are also the shield recharge mods, which are getting changed to improve both recharge and delay.

While I agree that it'll be (potentially) slightly less bad than that, Brief Respite is still a joke of a mod that doesn't fit any Warframe Aura without a forma (bar the frames that don't come with an aura polarity), the Augur mods are weaker counterparts and aren't always desirable, and I shouldn't have to dedicate 2 or even 3/4 mods just to have my shields in a functioning (read: not even good or great) state...

Shields will offer some advantages over armor/health tanking, which also takes some slots to use.  I don't think it's crazy to spend a few slots on shields, particularly when the Augur mods offer something else of value besides shield restore. (You're right that Brief Respite's polarity is a nuisance, but it's the first I've heard the mod called a joke in a very long time.)  On somebody like Frost Prime with high innate shields, I think I might skip Redirection in favor of these other mods anyway. 

But I don't know yet for sure what will work best.  What I do know is that shield gating works semi decently with Augur mods but no key now, and it sure looks like keyless gating is going to be getting better.  Especially on frames with decent shield amounts out of the box.

Thank god for these changes. The shield gate meta was like the most obnoxious behavior in the game. And finally some attention to Kahl missions. They really became a painful chore after the novelty of the new gameplay wore off after the first mission. He's just so god damn slow, coming from missions of bullet jumping, it's just torture to do them. And if you have a timed challenge then you have to play it more than once to collect everything else, and then do a run just for time. 😴 Hopefully this new speed actually is impactful. The new weapon drops are nice too. The grakata is unwieldy, the only time I enjoyed shooting enemies as Khal was with the Ayanga which is only on one mission and late into it.

Armor seems to be the most tame among the changes. The only noteworthy thing I saw was that a few frames are getting a big buff like Kullervo (probably the thick skin he's grown after everyone keeps getting his name wrong).

It's pretty much all positives except for the frames that already had a very high survivability value. I also calculated the ranking, but I realize that survivability is a lot more nuanced than just EHP. Still, I was happy to see my precious Mag and Mag Prime jump the rankings.

Frankly, the bounty challenges should be stages completed rather than full bounty sets.  Hell, you could even switch it back to five if that were the case.  It takes way too long to be worth the effort(even putting the bizarre need to wait for rotation changes aside) to do it on purpose, if you weren't already grinding the bounties for their unique drops.

there are literally people on my friends list, that have builds for things like xaku, that spam a set skill rotation via macros, that enables them to AFK in 1 spot and not die with decaying dragon key. LITERALLY "going to the toilet", and getting back to an alive frame.

there are also khora "run & gun" builds that enable you to just spam whipclaw, with 2-3 whipclaws resetting shieldgate with a dragonkey, resulting in literally just spamming 1 button making you immortal.

and "yeah, but i don't do that" isn't a valid reason not to nerf it into the ground.

I stopped playing with consoles years ago, I'm not sure how difficult the game is when playing one instead of doing it in a PC. Those tasks you mentioned are not hard in any way once you learn "how to". Maybe taking a 2nd look at your way of modding or tweaking the ingame options could help you to improve and enjoy those fights, missions and challenges.

It drives me crazy how sensitive the mouse is if you use the default options of the game for example, makes the game barely playable. So I ended up hours tweaking the ingame options till I found a balance for the sake of my own health, my eyes and my hands.

I hope you're able to find fun doing those some day, really they are not that hard/bad :)

That's not a shield gating problem thats a macro problem. DE have made it abundantly clear that they're against players using macros at all

How about fixing the many many many issues with all the open worlds? The uncompleteable bounties, the objectives/bonus objective that can't be accomplished, the infinite enemy spawning, the infinite enemy aggro range bugs, the lack of fish, resource, and animal spawning, the party filling issues, the drop table bugs, the poor handling of loading directly into the open world on public mode, making thermia fractures a proper bounty so it can utilize party formation...

Also the steel path bounties are just the tier 5 bounties with harder enemies, so there is no reason to ever do them. They need their own rewards to be worth doing.

The open worlds are a mess of bugs and problems that make them agonizing and frustrating to interact with.
