Can Hallowed Flame be an actual mission type?

Like I could totally see that being a Derelict mission that pops up occasionally like an Alert or something. I'm not going to lie, my friends and I had a blast doing it.

Sure it was challenging at times, but to be honest it has been a while since we've felt challenge from this game. Having to keep enemies within the bubble. Using builds like Speed Nova with Enemy Radar to make sure we were able to keep the kill count up and the lantern charged. Seeing Warframes like Revenant shine while the Chroma used Gram Prime to spin-to-win while keeping up the buffs. Working together to escort the lantern between zones slow enough to keep it charged but fast enough to get to enemies to kill. All the while dealing with a dark environment where teammates helped point out where hordes of enemies were via marking them.

All in all, it was an exciting game mode that I'd like to play again, and I really feel like it would be a nice addition to the Warframe roster of in-game activities. After all, it feels almost a waste to see an event like this get programmed into the game only to never be seen again. All DE would need to do is take out the pumpkins and BAM. They don't have to scrap their work for the Halloween event. Instead they can just give different rewards for each 5 minutes survived (probably rewards that are a bit increased than what you get out of your normal survival, which would make sense considering it's tougher than your normal Survival mission).

TL;DR -> Loved the event DE! Hoping to see more of the Hallowed Flame in the future!

We will add it back one day (tm), with a less-pumpkiny-flare.

Would like to see similar mechanics introduced to survival - the red / horde zone specifically. Keeps the mode fresh and discourages camping.

Isn't it just ESO but with a restriction on your DPS range? I would like the mission if there was a lantern per squad member. The current mode is just "hi I'm X DPS frame" and 3 others are either buffing you, speeding enemies, or AFK.

Maybe this could be the "hardcore" or "alternate" Survival mode? Similar to how Defense has the Operative Defense alternate mode used for sorties, alerts, and so on?

It could probably be explained easily as just being related to the life support system. The thing you hold is a life support system and you need to kill nearby enemies for it to keep going.

Feel free to add it as a distinct different game mode, ie don't change existing ones to it, but I'll be honest, this event was boring as anything for me personally... not to mentioned bugged in as much as the flame didn't detect half, if not more than half of the kills..

Even with a speed nova and frames/team more than capable of killing the required number really quickly it still took us pretty much exactly 15 mins for the event (funny that) because of the fact it wasn't registering all the kills.

That would be nice, yes. Maybe make the lantern decay less severe, though. As it stands right now in the Halloween event, this is basically ESO. At about the 7-minute mark, all strategy and tactics and general fun go out the window since the only thing that matters is killing as fast as humanly possible to push back the clock. Going back to regular Survival after this felt like a breath of fresh air. I like the general design of the mission with the moving lantern and moving combat zone - means more of the map gets used. It's just the balance point of it is way too steep.

The inability to keep any energy during max immolation for ember ruins her entire design, even with hunter's adrenaline and max efficiency, you lose all of your energy within a minute, meaning a lot of the time you die instantly. You having to purge it is not fun, and a death sentence on higher levels, so a lot of ember's just don't use it at all, because of the huge risk for no reward. I don't understand why you can't make her tanky, because her damage is there, it's great, but she would be so much better with either something like Nezha's Ring, or Rhino's Iron Skin. She is so close to being amazing, but being held back by this mechanic that drains all of your energy.

Ah S#&$, wrong thread.

Yeah, the mode doesn't really work. Had to solo it because my teammates didn't stay in range of my lamp and would not move to the other rooms when told to, and since the spawns are rather bad, the minute the team spreads, it causes a wipe since there's not enough enemies that spawn near the lantern anymore and you get mission failed.

There's some mixed reviews about the Hallowed Flame alert, but I do like the idea of it replacing Infested Survival -- with some balance tweaks (largely to spawn and depletion rates), and more obvious indicators that environmental objects will replenish the flame.
If introduced early-on, a mission type like it could encourage good practices like sticking with your team. It also shakes up the typical Survival meta so you don't have an ideal composition of looter and kill frames, or just camping in one spot.

The caches on it are unnecessary though, especially since it encourages people to break off from their squad or carry the lamp to non-spawn rooms. More importantly, there needs to be some kind of penalty to prevent players from griefing their teammates by taking the lamp to the far reaches of the map so they can't kill enemies.

The problem with hallowed flame is that at some point, there is just one viable team composition and strategy. It is an interesting mission at first, full of constant action and repositioning, but after 10 minutes, the lantern decays so fast you need to be really good and after 15 it's impossible without a good party.

*Facepalm* camping is for people who do 1hr + endurance runs for resources, challenge traces ect why discourage it, some don’t like running around the entire map flying through 50 rooms picking up resources, things are good as is, things go wrong when you try to be extra and go overboard, like this melee nerf or the intense grind for these lichs just for a random weapon you may not want..

Camping is brain dead gameplay. Can't change my mind on that, every time I'm in a squad that starts camping I just turn on Netflix and.. well, hardly play the game. Just shoot Zarr into a hallway and call it good.
