OPERATION: ORPHIX VENOM

The Sentients are back. Armed with weaponized pulses cleverly designed to disable Warframes, they're staging a takeover of enemy vessels. Deploy your Necramech to survive incoming hordes for as long as possible and earn Blueprints for Lavos, the newest Warframe, plus much more! 

Operation: Orphix Venom is a limited-time event and is live now! The Operation will be live until February 22nd @ 3:00 PM ET.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

With your Warframe compromised, you'll need to rely on your Necramech to defend enemy ships against a total Sentient takeover. If you don't yet own a Necramech, you'll find Necramechs throughout the Operation level that you can Transference into!

Aboard the ambushed Grineer and Corpus vessels, be prepared to face new Sentient adversaries. The Orphix are insidiously engineered to interrupt Transference and wreak havoc. You'll need to take them out with the strength of your Necramech and Operator, along with the Orphix Resonators, and keep the Sentient Control meter below 100%. Last as long as you can to earn Phasic Cells to exchange for Rewards and stave off the invasion!

Avoid defeat at all costs, Tenno. 

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

Operation: Orphix Venom will not be easy and requires preparation. You must have completed both the "Heart of Deimos" and "The War Within" Quests in order to begin.

There are 3 tiers of difficulty:

1. Operation: Orphix Venom
2. Operation: Orphix Venom - Advanced
3. Operation: Orphix Venom - Endurance

Progress through each to encounter the enemy at varying difficulties to earn different Rewards along the way!

OPERATION REWARDS

Visit the Necralisk on Deimos and talk to Father, who's eager to demonstrate the power of his Necramechs against the Sentient threat. He's hoarding a stockpile of special gear that he'll trade for Phasic Cells, including the Blueprint for the master experimenter and newest Warframe, Lavos, Necramech Mods, and more! BUT - there's more! You can also earn a number of rewards also by just playing the Operation - including Lavos! It'll be up to you if you want to save your Phasic Cells for Lavos and other items, or get lucky and earn select items within the Operation!

SCORING & PHASIC CELLS

Each Orphix has an initial value of 100 points in the first Operation mission. As your fight evolves, so will the Orphix, awarding you more points at a greater difficulty. Orphix will be worth 200 points at the hardest difficulty (Endurance), and scale up from there! The higher your score, the more Phasic Cells you'll walk away with.

Try to survive for as long as you can - 36 Orphix will be the maximum amount in the Endurance mission, so once you've hit 36, it's time to extract! The first two Operation missions have a limit of 24 Orphix. Players looking to maximize their score should head to Endurance!

Phasic Cells can be earned in any Operation mission. But remember - Endurance gives the most points per Orphix, so you'll earn the most Phasic Cells there. A prepared and coordinated squad even more so! While this Operation is possible Solo, best results will come from coordinated Squads! 

CLAN LEADERBOARDS AND CLAN TROPHIES

Clan Scores are determined based on the sum of all participating members' best scores. We balanced this around about 50% member participation for Gold Tier trophies.

3 New Sentient Enemies will be encountered during Operation: Orphix Venom and can be spawned in the Simulacrum once fully Scanned!

Ortholyst
This lightweight Sentient mounts itself to solid ground in order to deploy massive long-range cannons.

Choralyst
These ethereal Sentients attack with both a sonic barrage and a thunderous homing orb.

Summulyst
A high-order Sentient that bifurcates its body, creating a portal it uses to summon reinforcements and projectiles. Armed with twin cannons.

The team agreed with this thoughtful feedback and took a second look at event scores for console Clans. Clan Scores will now be based on console-specific spawn rates! The adjustment requires a hotfix, so expect to start next week with a greeting from Red Text.

As we did with Operation: Orphix Venom on PC, Leaderboards have been (and will continue to be) cleansed of exploited runs.

CEDO DISPOSITION
 

Just a reminder to all those who've been hoarding veiled shotgun rivens to farm up a Cedo riv today

and to all those who they wanted to sell it to

 

new weapons have Minimal Disposition

meaning their stats will roll so low that in general they are not worth giving up the slot

 

So don't be the fool buying a 1000p Cedo Riven

Just to add Ash has a bug to teleport to where he can`t consistently open enemies up for finishers.

  • TYPE: In-Game
  • DESCRIPTION: Ash`s teleport doesn't open enemies up to finishers consistently .
  • VISUAL
  • REPRODUCTION: Teleport to enemy. 
  • EXPECTED RESULT: It should open enemies up to finishers every time you teleport to an enemy.
  • OBSERVED RESULT: Enemy is not affect by the ability.
  • REPRODUCTION RATE: Every time I teleport to a enemy.

 

And there are ppl that don`t like the textures warframes have. My solution is either revert the textures back or make a option where you can choose the texture finish of warframes like Anthem does.

For the next update please bring back ''In Cert''. I just saw that the update delpoyed and that was just by chance. That ''mid point check in'' that people want and you promised clearly doesn't work. ''In Cert'' was already perfect for a mid point update. Before Cert, what would even be worth reporting? After Cert it only takes a couple of days to launch. Please change it back. Personally, i don't know a single person who disliked the extra cert status.

@[DE]Danielle, what happened to the "Date Announce" phase?  And no, I don't think "today" counts for a date announcement 😉

I understand that this is the first time with the combined threads, and it had been a longer time "in dev", and there are probably certain consoles that were lagging behind others in terms of being able to give a solid release data ahead of time.  But do you think that DE has learned from this and will be able to provide at least one day of advance announcement in the future?  Or should I just check the status thread later in the day because "Today!" is likely to be a thing going forward?

I hope this isn't just an easy work around just to fix it for the leaderboard scores and not the actual payout (maybe make 10 score equal 2 phasic cells?), leaderboards doesn't really mean anything to most players who just want to earn the phasic cells other than getting your clan name out there. 

 

If they reduce the cost they are going to have to run a script to refund the points already spent by players. 

Clearly this takes much longer to earn the Phasic cells than on PC

40k  score or 4k cells in an hour on PC vs 20-21k (on the high side) score or 2100 cells on console

If we look at that it takes roughly 55 minutes to complete 1 run

Players need a total score of 168,000 score  or 16,800 phasic cells to buy 21 of the rarest arcanes (800 phasic cells each) to reach R5

That would be roughly 4.2 runs for PC and 8 runs for consoles

That is a little over 4 hours for PC and 8 hours for consoles.

This is not valuing players time.

I would like to point out that this is slightly inaccurate. The PC leaderboard runs are 40k+, but this requires an exorbitant amount of aborting to achieve this. Which means the people scoring 40k+ are the same people unable to farm the event because they are abort-chasing the leaderboards.

The standard run with an extremely experienced squad (the same people who score 40k+) score about 30-35k for your average run on PC. The odds of a potential 40k run generally range around 0.4-3% of mission starts, depending on which of the tilesets the hour is.

I’m all for reducing shop prices, but PC does not have 2x efficiency of console. The 40k scores were on leaderboard because well, they are leaderboard scores.

Rushing the mission can get you 22-23k score when done well, regardless of platform. Farming sentient kill points on console seems to only reasonably cap you out to about 25k pts. On PC it caps you out to ~50k (this is literally one in a million kind of run, there were less than 5 legit 50k team scores across the entire duration of the operation).

So you can reasonably state the farming efficiency sits somewhere between 22k to 25k on consoles, and 22k to 50k on PC.

Because spawns actually work on PC, any leaderboard score on PC is a result of strategy execution on kills with significant cherry-picking of tilesets and teammates, and is non-representative of a standard sentient killing farm run.

If it was a direct equivalent comparison , I’d say the prices are to be cut by 3/8, with Energize and the like dropping to 500 apiece. Any cheaper, and contrary to belief, console will have it even easier than PC did.

The two most highly viewed OV video runs are mine, being the two 41k scores on Gas City and Grineer Galleon. Each of those took me 3 full days of aborting until we managed to get each one, being 6 days total. That’s 6 days of the event we couldn’t farm, because we were chasing 40k+ scores

Not saying that the prices should be reduced by 50% (maybe 30-35%) if it isn't a true 50% for the rare PC high run comparisons for leaderboards if PC was to achieve a 50k (very rare) run and consoles a 25k run (very rare as well, I have yet to run anything close to that). 

I just think an equivalent payout needs to be made when matching effort for effort in terms of the score we are getting on console vs PC, high and low scores aside.

The farm run score on console, which can be achieved by nearly anyone (the 22k mark) if you just put a geared party together and bum rush the Orphix asap instead of killing sentients, which requires basically 0 strategy, is very close to the current leaderboard scores of 25k.

17,100 points come from killing all 36 Orphixes. If you kill all Orphixes ASAP, you will get approximately 5000 bonus points from downtime, corresponding to 2500 seconds, which is 41m 40s of no Orphix being present. The missions are about 56 min long usually. This corresponds to Orphixes being present 25% of the time, and dead 75% of the time. This also means an Orphix is only alive for 23 seconds in the 91 second cycle, which is a very fair estimate (there are teams that can consistently clear an Orphix in <15s when necessary).

 

In contrast, bum rushing the Orphix on PC will still only net you 22k pts. If you try to assign one person to kill sentients while you do this, you still won’t pass 25k.

 

Going by the logic of PC high score is 2x console high score, a 22k farm run on console should correspond to a 44k farm run on PC; which is the disparity I’m trying to show. It’s extremely hard to score higher than 40k on PC. Although the top PC score is 2x console, the typical PC farm run is nowhere close and sits only at about 1.5x console at absolute most (22k vs 30-35k).

 

That is my basis for suggesting cutting prices by 3/8, which sets Energize price from 800 to 500.


The only problem with this suggestion is it devalues killing sentients, as you will get similar farm quantities of arcanes as PC by bum rushing the Orphix instead. While I am kind of fine with this (the strats for high scores are honestly ridiculous compared to all prior operations and events on the game so far), some others may care. That’s why I also have another suggestion below, which will fix instead of the store prices, but the point scaling itself, which is the root of the problem, to enable consoles to achieve identical scores and scaling to PC.

 

For my alternative suggestion, due to a 8-15k gap between farm scores on console vs PC, I would suggest multiplying the sentient kill points by 3x, which will give similar scores to PC, placing the top console 25k score as a 41k. This would preserve the original “feeling” of the operation and enable console to have the same score granularity and significance on sentient killing PC had.
 

So far, console is exactly 1 week into the event. I would say that’s a fair judgment, as 50ks didn’t even happen until the final week of the event, and until the final week, there were only about 100 scores above 40k.

I wouldn't say they are 10 times higher. But i agree with you, considering less points gaining factor. The shop prices need to be lowered. No offense, just saying in case don't think that 2-3 runs will be enough for grinding all arcanes and other stuff, so you will probably have to do more runs.

Agreed as alot of people on ps4 don't play till 36 ophixs or don't play the event at all + only getting one to 2k calls depending on points is kinda low to get all the arcanes i currently need i have to aquire 130k Cells thats way to much & thats about 130+ runs

if i hit 1k every time thats way too grindy I can see PC having the high cost but they also have a much larger player base then on console..

If not reduce the cost of items how bout offering more Cells instead to counter less people playing..

 

I wouldn't mind seeing 5k minimum phasic cells that you can earn in a single mission with a max if 6k to 8k depending on the Sentinets you kill & how quickly you kill em. The harder to kill one's should grant you more points the easy 1 shot ones should grant you the least points..

It wouldn't be so bad if people wouldn't leave so early or knew what to do.. I had 5+ missions yesterday where someone left at 9 destroyed ophixs or less how can I grind the cells needed if people are gonna flee early..

Its hard enough trying to find people to stay to 36 so can we please get a reduction in cost to items on consoles or an increase in Phasic Cells gained per mission to reduce the grind & headaches of people fleeing or not knowing what to do or just not wanting to grind to 1k Cells.

An increase in cells gained per mission or a reduction to cost would likely entice people on console to actually run the event...

I am curious to see how different the Orphix Venom scores would be against the true infested faction of enemies with the ancient disruptor sapping the energy from the Necramechs. We haven't experienced those yet in Deimos since they don't seem to exist there, but even with a necramech rage mod equipped I would like to see how they fair in the higher levels in terms of an extra challenge, even with running a max range efficiency Hidlryn to support the team on energy. I have even wondered about what a steel path version would be like of the event with those extra variables. 

3rd tier of Orphix is easy in terms of completion but challenging in terms of achieving the highest score.

If not reduce the cost of items how bout offering more Cells instead to counter less people playing..

 

I wouldn't mind seeing 5k minimum phasic cells that you can earn in a single mission with a max if 6k to 8k depending on the Sentinets you kill & how quickly you kill em. The harder to kill one's should grant you more points the easy 1 shot ones should grant you the least points..

It wouldn't be so bad if people wouldn't leave so early or knew what to do.. I had 5+ missions yesterday where someone left at 9 destroyed ophixs or less how can I grind the cells needed if people are gonna flee early..

Its hard enough trying to find people to stay to 36 so can we please get a reduction in cost to items on consoles or an increase in Phasic Cells gained per mission to reduce the grind & headaches of people fleeing or not knowing what to do or just not wanting to grind to 1k Cells.

An increase in cells gained per mission or a reduction to cost would likely entice people on console to actually run the event... 

It's just a beginning of the event. People are still getting used to it. People do learn how to play, and i am sure after some time there will be more players down for the 36 orphixes.

I’m all for reducing shop prices, but PC does not have 2x efficiency of console. The 40k scores were on leaderboard because well, they are leaderboard scores.

Rushing the mission can get you 22-23k score when done well, regardless of platform. Farming sentient kill points on console seems to only reasonably cap you out to about 25k pts. On PC it caps you out to ~50k (this is literally one in a million kind of run, there were less than 5 legit 50k team scores across the entire duration of the operation).

So you can reasonably state the farming efficiency sits somewhere between 22k to 25k on consoles, and 22k to 50k on PC.

Because spawns actually work on PC, any leaderboard score on PC is a result of strategy execution on kills with significant cherry-picking of tilesets and teammates, and is non-representative of a standard sentient killing farm run.

If it was a direct equivalent comparison , I’d say the prices are to be cut by 3/8, with Energize and the like dropping to 500 apiece. Any cheaper, and contrary to belief, console will have it even easier than PC did.

The two most highly viewed OV video runs are mine, being the two 41k scores on Gas City and Grineer Galleon. Each of those took me 3 full days of aborting until we managed to get each one, being 6 days total. That’s 6 days of the event we couldn’t farm, because we were chasing 40k+ scores

Yeah totally agree it would be unfair to straight up double it.

Idk about the other platforms but 22.7k is the max leaderboard score here on switch now, having done a 22k run myself i can confidently say that its far from perfect like the top end on pc we didnt do all the aborting for specific rooms and everything else grindy that comes with it. Im currently writing this on day 3 of the event but my guess would be that by the end the top scores would be somewhere between 24-25k 

so i would say the best bet is to make a 21-22k  run on switch simmilar to 30k score on pc in terms of points.
