Do you use assault rifles? what are the good ones?

I'm pretty fond of tiberon prime. It's not necessarily the most powerful or ~meta~ choice, but I love how versatile it is. Long range? Switch to single shots, snipe them down with its huge magazine and decent damage. Closer? Bursts can take down tougher enemies quick with headshots. Have a ton of ammo/void buff for unlimited ammo? Automatic absolutely ruins most things. I use it a lot when doing level 5 lich nodes, so 90-110 grineer, and it's pretty effective. Perhaps not the most effective out there, but I like it.

And I especially love it in open worlds where ranges are long. It's my go to gun there. My only complaint is how we can't stab enemies with the swords on it.

Trumna is not an assault rifle. Its an archgun with a grenade launcher mistakenly classified as a primary weapon.

Braton Prime gets a fair amount of use, Karak Wraith and Kuva aswell

ignis wraith was my main gun for many months because of how useful it was and how it works, ammo everything

It's still my favourite but I change depending on the mood every 10 min because they are all the same compared to the power of melee or some secondaries.
So ye, ignis w is a good choice if you are wondering.

I was just running a Lich Hunt today. Did the Excavation missions with a Limbo and a Soma Prime.

I don't use old fashion assault rifles much. They don't have AoE like Ignis Wraith or Acceltra, or hard-hitting burst damage like shotguns or Kuva Bramma.

That said, Protea is my assault rifle specialist. I find her abilities complement them perfectly; powerful enough to deal with crowds, not so powerful to render my weapon useless. I typically run her with my Baza Prime or Supra Vandal.

It may not be the best assault rifle, but the Argonak gunfire sound is so powerful that it will make high level Steel Path Noxes think they've been one-shot.

I quite like my rattleguts primary, specifically cos I hate the reload speed on so many weapons.

I'm looking forward to the riven dispos for all the primary kitguns going up drastically cos I literally never see anyone use them. 

Apart from that, my faves seem to mirror most other peoples - kuva quartakk and karak, baza, tiburon.  Also really like the zenith which no one has mentioned.

I use the Stradavar Prime a lot. It's probably not even close to meta, but I personally love the weapon and it works well enough. I also have a stupid good Riven for it, so, you know. Accurate, dependable primary for me.

The Acceltra is the one I end up using a lot, just due to it's explosive rounds, though the Soma (Prime) and Braton Prime are some fairly good ones, and they're fairly easy to get.

I used the Tiberon/ Sybaris Prime very often. Strong enough for steelpath and useful in every Situation.

But nowadays I tend to use the Mutalist Cernos. More effective and funnier.

I sometimes use AR-s, Smg-s and LMG-s with Banshee, though they are not my preferred weapon types.

Mainly Soma P, Tiberon P, Baza P, Stradavar P, Prisma Grakata and Supra Vandal.

Though i admit i only use Soma, Tiberon and Stradavar at this point because they look so great, they are outmatched in certain things by Baza with its pinpoint accuracy and no recoil, Grakata with its augment and Supra with its magazine size, which can be even more important than raw dps, with a strong frame buff.

I liked the Tenora, but hopefully an upgrade comes with Octavia P.

As for meta, you can't go wrong as long as your AR has a high enough rof, crit and Hunter Munitions, even better if it can consistently proc Viral.

Beside the usual suspects Amprex and Ignis Wraith, there are other good ones depending on what needs to be done.

• Kuva Karak / Supra Vandal - sustained dakka (capped dmg boss like Lephantis/plague)
• Kuva Chakkurr - yup an AR posing as sniper 
• Kuva Ogris - CC blasts that do not need LOS
• Battacor - great ALT firepower if used properly (P. Taker)
• Baza Prime - my Ivara's resident primary
• Synapse - potent single target beam weapon (boss killer)
• Primary Rattleguts - deadly in the hands of some WF 🙄

* of course, rivens usually makes the difference with any gun

** don't forget those that shine while scaling the ranks like braton, karak, boltor, miter, supra and soma.

normally I just take traditional AR's for fun, and I tend to lean more towards LMGs and higher capacity rifles. some of my favorites currently:

Quellor: this thing is awesome, with a nice alt fire. reloads are slow, but don't happen often. I don't mind the slower RoF but It's more fun with primed Shred, I like to get that proper "heavy gunner" feel out of them.

Trumna: much like the Quellor but possibly better, since it has a much better alt fire and has AoE shots. worth the grind to get it IMO.

Supra Vandal: it always makes me smile when I hold down the trigger, and hose down the enemy with a gazillion bright lasers.. 

Zenith: less LMG-vibes, but being able to shoot through doors with the alt fire is pretty fun. they think locking the doors will save them from getting sniped... it's so cute...

Dera Vandal: not the greatest rifle ever, but I have a soft spot for it as it was my first event weapon as a newb and was my best primary for a while. plus it's double-barrelled, and I like more barrels.

all other rifles I don't mind and are pretty good, but as mentioned, I take them for fun or a change. when it comes to serious stuff I prefer shotguns or launchers.

I've invested a lot into my Hema and it pays off. Plus, the total punch through is 5.3 so I can basically just shoot in the general direction of something and get kills. For reference, it goes straight through the larger pillars in the Citadel Simulacrum.

I like the Quellor. I built Pure status Viral+Electricity so I can spray shots to spread the proc while having some decent AoE.
